*_The finale train has arrived at its destination. Please watch your step as you exit to the hiatus_* Hope you guys enjoy. Probably no videos over the next week as I try to make up for the 10 hours I spent here :p It's always interesting when you can hear the faint screams of dying fanfics in the distance while watching an episode.
Blank Slate ..... I miss your genuine reactions like before, ones where you don't make random jokes that have nothing to do with the story. I'm sorry but you are not the reactor I thought you were.
A new video from "killme2paza" (Different Life of Guardian [First person animation]) and new video on "Yudhaikeledai" channel (Luna Plays X-Pony Equestria Unknown, Episode 1 (Animation)) check this out!
+Dallin Anderson I mean, my episode reactions have been like that for quite a while (and the channel was built on performance from day one). I usually played things more straight with the fan videos, but I haven't had much time for them recently. I do give a lot of my thoughts on the story during the video. I make as many comments as most others about the episode, but I also make way more comments in general so the proportion's different. And there's a solid 8 minutes of talking at the end of this video if you want to know my post-thoughts.
I was unsure about the Pony of Shadow's voice at first as well... until I heard him as Stygian. The transition between of voices in the line "...so I became stronger than any of them" literally sent chills down my spine. His performance is darn amazing.
Lego marvel superheroes heroes are the best in the world and they are all in the right place to play and play with the best of the best in the world and the best way to get to the game is to play the game and play the game with the best game in the world and the best game in the world is the game of
Really sad when you think about how the pillars came to terms with saying goodbye to their families and loved ones before trapping the pony of shadows in limbo, and now they only have each other, Celestia, and Luna
Well they may no longer have those from long ago but at least they can meet new friends. Heck it may not be the family they knew from the past but at least they have their descendants. Mage Meadowbrook has Cattail, I'm guessing the old pony that had the flower is the descendant of Mistmane (though I could be wrong) Flash Magnus has Flash Sentry (come on, it makes perfect since) and even though they aren't his family, Celestia and Luna are the closest things Starswirl had to having kids, that we've seen.
And the tragic irony is that they wouldn't have had to had they just listened to Stygian in the first place so really, it's their fault that: A. Stygian turned into the Pony of Shadows B. They created a situation where they needed to give up their old lives to seal themselves away with the Pony of Shadows.
Hmm...it's going to be interesting to see how the Pillars of Old Equestria react to their homes. Somnambula might have an easier time with it. She has a village with her name on it, and the inhabitants have never forgotten her, especially with a big statue of her. As long as they don't think she's an imposter, they'll probably give her a warm welcome. Mistmane might not be happy that her village seems to be abandoned. On the plus side, she'll have a descendant to talk to. Mage Meadowbrook isn't going to be too thrilled about her village being abandoned. At least her descendant Cattail will probably be happy to see her. Flash Magnus hails from Cloudsdale, so it's hard to say if many Pegasus Ponies remember him. I wonder how the Wonderbolts will react to him. Rockhoof will probably be upset that his village is basically gone and buried. The archaeologists will probably be thrilled to meet him. Starswirl The Bearded did say he was going to explore Equestria and see what has changed in the last 1000 years. Come to think of it, I don't think the show or comics said where he was from. Stygian is interesting. One of the comics reveals that he hails from a small village that gets attacked by the Sirens. Of course, that's why he formed the team in the first place. I wonder if his village even exists anymore. Fanfic fuel, anyone?
Honestly, I want Flash Magnus to meet Flash Sentry, and confirm that he's his ancestor. If they got a chance of building up his character further, its this one.
Jack Jaques - Hmm. Well, it would be interesting if that did happen. I'm not sure it will, but it could. Now, I would love to see Stygian meet his descendant, Shadowlock. That would probably never happen in the show itself, but it could in the comics.
Some people say Sonambula’s voice is too deep but honestly I love it because all the girls have such high voices it’s refreshing to hear a deep girl voice
There are also people that complain Applejack's voice is too deep. There are always people complaining about something. I bet there's at least one person who thinks Pinkie Pie's voice is too high pitched.
I don't see how this was 'rushed' this was one of the best paced finales yet. Yeah didn't get a bunch form the pillars, but wasn't about them, it was Twilight's story and the focus was on her. Everything worked out perfectly well.
The story surrounding Twilight and Starswirl (and Starlight) was quite good. As I said, I had a great time with this - Maybe top 5 of the season for me, or close.
So if a branch of the Apple family lived in a village that had an underground temple/shrine dedicated to an Elderich horror abomination, does that mean that part of the Apple family was part of a cult and worshiped the Shadow?
Takisan111 Probably because in that episode for Friendship is for Adults when Twilight and Spike first visit the apple farm the Apple family were Nightmare Moon cultists or something like that. Which is interesting to think that part of the Apple family might have actually been cultists that worshiped a creature of darkness in the actual shows canon. Just think of it. Applejack says "The Hollow Shades? I think a branch of the Apple family lives their." but we soon after learn that the place was long ago abandoned. We then later see the well of shade under the village. For all we know that branch of the Apple family along with whoever else lived in that village might have not only have known of the shadow creature and its shrine but might have also have been cultists that worshiped the shadow. ...or the they didn't know of the evil under their homes and when the shadow made its move they were either wiped out or ran away or if they did worship it when it was banished they left when they no longer had it to worship. So many possibilities.
Which character has the best voice to you??? A.) Starswirl the bearded. B.) Somnambula C.) Rockhoof D.) Flash Magnus E.) Mistmane F.) Meadowbrook G.) All of the above H.) Stygian
I realised something yesterday when I saw both Starswirl and Stygian in the same frame. Look at them. Compare them. Their coats are the same shade of grey. They have the same rare pointy horns. They both have blue eyes. They both have a striped mane (even though Starswirl's has gone white). Would it be too out there if I said that they look like they're related? It would make sense, too - it would explain why Stygian wanted Starswirl's respect so badly (and why he was so invested in supporting Starswirl in the first place), and why the betrayal hurt him so much. What do you think? Could Stygian perhaps be Starswirl's (grand-)son?
This two parter episode and Royal Problem, I never noticed how bias Twilight can be, and its up to Starlight to set her straight it seems, I guess its a good thing she's still around. Also I feel like the writers made Sunburst stuck around so Twilight'll have backup, both being such a hardcore Starswirl fanponies. Bet a lot of people are pissed that Starlight is right, but boy was Twilight's bias a bit taking over her decision. Weird that Stygian made me think of Credence Barebones, then I realised Credence didn't have a British accent, I think. Probably the mane style
A few days back, I was talking with a friend of mine who's seen basically nothing of the show. Though a long conversation, he fell into trying to name all the main charachters. "So, there's like, Applejack, and Twilight, and Flash Rainboom, and Rarity, and... Shutterfly?" And I just cracked up. My friend's discord. Now, to watch this reaction.
And even if you could have made the argument that showing the Sirens didn't necessarily make EqG canon, Sunset makes a cameo in the last song of the show, therefore making all arguments against the canonicity of EqG invalid.
Discord doesn’t like how meadowbrook is so close to Fluttershy so he takes medowbrooks job by healing every pony but because of the lack of chaos he dies while meadowbrook laughs at his grave
It's funny, to me it felt like the pacing this finale was one of the best we've ever seen. We could've done with more screentime on the individual pillars of course, that would've been amazing! But with what we have here, I feel like Josh Haber has made one of his best stories within this show. And when it comes to those artifact sections, the only one I felt like was dragged out a bit too much was Rainbow's to get Flash's shield. But try and look at it this way: Those small journeys to get the artifacts each reflect how the main 6 represent the pillars in modern times. Right AJ's showing of impossible strength, Rarity's effort to make the garden beautiful to make the gardener happy to Rainbow outsmarting the dragons to gain the shield. They each showcase how the mane 6 are alike, so I don't think it's just patting, they have some importance to them.
I acknowledged that. My criticism of the first episode is mostly in context of it being half the runtime. I think it would be a totally great part 1 of 3.
Yup, but at least that is only just a smidgen over a week away. Avoiding spoilers thanks to the US leaking the game early however has been as difficult as avoiding spoilers for the MLP leaks. D=
I was just about to watch Raritydash’s reaction (literally was on the video and starting) Then I got the notification. Have to go to see you first, Blank
Wait... one.... second..... the Pony of Shadows? Wasn't that mentioned way back when they had to go to the Castle of the Two Sisters in Everfree? Back in Castle Mane-ia?
Possibly, but all myths and legends usually contain a seed of truth. Plus the end of the episode there WAS a shadowy presence and I don't remember if it was touched upon in subsequent episodes.
I have to say this finale was so good. Probably my favourite so far. Even though it can't be compared to the epic lazer fight with Twilight against Tirek from s4. But I still think Tirek is my favourite villain. I liked the historical facts and pieces added together and being actually able to bring back Starswirl the Bearded.
The thing is though... with Celestial, Luna, Cadence, Twilight, Starswhirl and Starlight... the villains of this series don't feel like a threat anymore, combine that with the Pillars and Harmony Bearers, is any villain a threat anymore? Chrysalis and her army where defeated by Cadence and Shining, and then again by changelings. Can we really be afraid of her anymore when the characters can rainbow nuke her into next week with the Pillars of Harmony? (I'm just referring to the Pillars and the Mane Six as a cohesive group Pillars of Harmony as they can function together as a combined unit). And the Shadow this episode was shown to be as powerful as all the Pillars, so in a power ranking he Falls just behind Tirek with Discord still reigning as the most power villain the series has had...
Yes, but at the end the Pillars separated so they may not be readily available. Also, sense they have been gone for so long it will be a long time for them to adapt to the changes. Also, i hope some of them have had conflicts with the reformed villains in the past. I can imagine Discord and Starswirl having fought previously, so it would be interesting for Starswirl to have to adapt to the idea of him being a reformed. Then there is Magnus and his previous conflict with the Dragons, who have somewhat changed for the better. And i am hoping one them fought the changelings at one point and have an attitude similar to what Shining Armor originally had for Thorax.
Warhawk 171 I mean the Dragons don't really like the Ponies and would happily fight them if Ember or Spike was absent. And yes they'll be exploring Equestria but I'm sure they'll keep in contact with the Mane 6, Celestia and Luna... besides the Map is connected to all of them, I'm sure if Equestria was in danger the Map would call the Pillars and the Mane 6, like it did in this episode, Starswirl himself said the Map acts on its own accord to protect the light in Equestria.
There's also the possibility that the finale has the perfect difficulty. Too easy to resort to elements/rainbow powers/literal banishment to your choice of 3 possible worlds, but too hard to just be another episode.
Liam White If banishment becomes the only option I vote for the human world. That way Sunset Shimmer and her friends can have a crack at it and attempt to succeed where the others have failed. Plus it let's us see more of the villain. (Which is why I hope Starswirl accidentally had the portal opened to the human world instead of limbo.)
The RedArrows are a British flight team there colors are red and white and blue...The U.S.A navy flight demonstration squadron TheBlueAngels are TheWonderBolts in mlp (random fact)
Star swirl:once a villain always a villain Me :ok um sunset ,sci twi, Crystal prep, wallflower, starlight, tempest, luna, trixie, discord, the entire freaking changeling race shall I go on
This is the biggest tie in and epic finale in all the history of the show. My thoughts: - Star Swirled and the Pillars - Pony of Shadows - Old Ponish = Old English. Confirmed by what they said in Ep 24. - Indiana Jones reference - Petunia, that archeology pony from the Gabby ep. - the origin on the Element/Tree o f Harmony - more Old english/ponish - the pillars staying in Equestria - lesson for all adults, pride can cloud kindness and logic - reflections of both types of elements - More explanation on how magic works - an epic soundtrack - History of Equestria and Tie-ins - Starlight being the voice of logic and reason - Earth Ponies and Pegasus gave magic and with the help of a unicorn, infuse that magic into something like a normal unicorn. - Celestia and Luna background on age, timeline, etc. - Evidence of how dragons are adjusting to Ember's rule - Seeing how the curved horned asian ponies have evolved - darkness shrines? So there were times where those worshipped the darkness? Cool - EQG world now canon, so Sunset may come over in Season 8? - Hilarious jokes and cool backgrounds - Sooo many VA's and characters in this ep. - Wait, if they moved the flash bee hive, how will you get the cure now? - Daring Do returns! - I want episodes that focus on each of the pillars and how they are adjusting to life in this age now. Like Sonumbula seeing her village, Meadowbrook meeting her decendant, Flash Magnus meeting the Wonderbolts, etc. - The animation looks sooo goood!! - Stigion is alot of villians but in a different way that what marvel or DC does. They reason with the villian, not just kick butt. - wait, so shadow can wipe out memories during the light if it takes over? That explains RD acting different in the Nightmare Moon timeline. Then Nightmare moon was an evolved shadow! And Sombra was a shadow too! Both shadows were sent to the moon after being defeated! A shadow fight in the future perhaps?! Oh the fan fics! - So combined magic can grow and when connected to earth magic, can yield fruit of stored magic. So much analyzing to do! - Ghastly Gorge was Ghastly Caverns? What does that mean for the evolution of the canyon eels? - Evolution of Magic confirmed! My headcanon will now be added upon. - wait, if the pillars existed at tge foundation/emerging world of Equestria, this must mean the world was ruled by the people and Celestia/Luna became the rulers after defeating Discord, finding the elements that their teacher left behind/something he hinted at in his writing. Since the pillars served at the castle, it would make sense they would put the tree near where they believed the center of the realm would be. So many tie-ins!! - the former villian trying to figure out another villians motives. Cool! - magic attuned to a certain pony? This is/enhances my core magic theory! - Shadow realm? Future plot point? - Sea pony ettiette? How do they know that? - Starlight looking at Swirled when he sees the truth, priceless. - When one is facing a darkness like drugs, you can't break free without help. Love the metaphor! - Turning away from others hurts yourself - When meeting your idol, don't forget yourself. - So powerful magic is done with runes, some magic done by using writing, other by reading out enchanted words, simple magic by just focusing on the goal. - Evolution of ponies, seen through the horn, appearance, etc. Explains Celestia/Luna's long horns and tall figure. - Star Swirled may seem like a jerk but remember the S3 finale? Star Swirled's character makes sense. He is prideful and believes in knowledge and logic. Not in friendship and emotions. That is why Twilight could complete his spell. - Woah! The shadow's goal is for everyone to be a shadow too, and feel despair. The bible references are strong in this ep, and possibly a season battle. This ep is full of of so much info! - The shadow has the same invasive properties as venom from spiderman. It will make you stronger and start to control your actions. When you try to escape it, it controls you more. Only through others could you escape. - This finale ties everything together and no everything makes sense. Season 8 is going to be so epic, but Season 7 has all my favorite episodes now.
So the sirens appearing had two effects: Confirming the EQG movies are in the same multiverse and making the desire for the return of said sirens even stronger.
The book on Sea Pony etiquette made me think about when the movie and the Equestria Girls specials are supposed to take place. I think they both are during Season 7.
Because this finale took another turn from a predictable plot(like Chrysalis coming back for revenge *NO SPOILERS*) to an unpredictable plot like bringing back the legendary pony pillars and Star Swirl(one of the most biggest characters that everyone wanted to see in the series)and giving the Pony of Shadows a prominent role after several seasons of wondering if it will see the light of day again(let's not forget about seeing how the sirens got banished by the Star Swirl and company), I can say that this finale is currently my favorite in the series so far. Excellent reaction, Blank; I enjoyed it!
It really is the best! Although... I actually predicted the whole plot. Like, really. "Ok, so this will happen.. yes.. then this has to happen.. yeeees. And now.. YES! YES AND YES! WOOHOO!" IDK, the most fun part was exactly the fact that I could immediately name every scene that's going to happen.
I also loved seeing the sirens canonically in the show...at first. The scene was great, but it now directly conflicts with how it was portrayed in the comics, which was a bit more fun. Oh well, it was still a great tie-in.
"The Elements. It’s happening differently this time, isn’t it?" I'm sure you know the quote... ;) If one were to pick at the similarities when getting the artifacts, Applejack and Rockhoof's strength, Rarity and Mistmane's beauty (and generosity), Rainbow Dash and Flash Magnus's outsmarting a dragon, Fluttershy and Medobrook's kindness, and Pinkie Pie's and Somnambula's hope. Those last two I'm not quite sure... And Pinkie, you're hugging the wrong "face". XD
I just recognized that the Pony of Shadows’ title had to be said every single time he was mentioned because the abbreviation is POS and there’s noooo way that Hasbro could’ve had the characters call him that😂
6:54 "Spike's like, I'm gonna sit this episode out. You guys go ahead." Just like when Twilight and the gang went after Nightmare Moon and the elements.
So supposedly the MLP movie is to take place between season 7 and 8. So imagine the possibilities for season 8. Everything we got this season + the Legends + Tempest & Friends = a really long Hiatus.
I think the Pony of Shadows was honestly a disappointment.....like he looked cool, but he didn't seem that powerful and he was practically just the same story of Luna/Nightmare Moon and depending on your own ideas it's the same as King Sombra....like it was just a pony controlling the a few shadows and was claimed to selfish when he was just misunderstood and being control by the dark powers
Crimson Reaper It's actually a weird hybridization of both. Sombra, in the comics, it's literally a shadow pony while the jealousy portion from Princess Luna is obvious.
MoonShadowWolfe well it might have been ment to echo Nightmare Moon, but that's kind of what made it a disappointment....like if you count Sombra the pony of Shadows is the third villian to use to the power of Shadows and darkness so he wasn't anything new in that reguard, and his reasons behind it are practically the same as Luna's....with both he and Luna being out shown by the power and popularity of the ones they thought cared about them despite their jobs being just as important....so the pony of Shadows reasons aren't unique........really the only thing the pony of Shadows got that was different was instead of just being left with the reason behind his action being his own selfishness and jeallesy, by the end of it, the Pony of Shadows had been given an excuse for his actions that didn't make him just seem selfish.....unlike Luna who's only reason for doing what she did was because she was jeales of Celestia....but I mostly blame that on the fact that by that point the show was still trying to build Celestia up to be some perfect princess who could do no wrong so they wouldn't of wanted to say she had ignored Luna or any thing like that and risked making her look bad...
Yeah, I get that they were super-similar. I'm just trying to say that I wouldn't call that a disappointment because it was intentional and important to the point of the story that the Pony of Shadows reminds the viewer of Nightmare Moon. By making the Mane 6 of the previous era the same as the modern generation in every important way, including their primary antagonist, _except_ for their solutions (lockup vs forgiveness), it draws attention that one difference, and that was the moral of the episode. So calling that story direction 'disappointing' is sort of like saying that Jaws was disappointing because it echoed An Enemy of the People too much. Is that really fair when it's the point of the story?
Way back in the two sisters castle episode in season 4 my friend and talked about the concept of starswirl having a book that he had a piece of his soul in that he could appear like the book in this episode. This episode pretty much confirmed our theory but then again back then we thought he was dead but still.
How to defeat a shadow 101 *Step 1.* Grab flashlight/torch *Step 2.* Aim flashlight/torch at shadow *Step 3.* Turn on the flashlight/torch *Step 3.* Profit
20:22 Twilight: "I can't believe I'm gonna meet Starswirl the Bearded! You know, outside of my dreams." Blank: "I wanna see Twilight's dreams." Just wait a few days and head on over to Fimfiction.
I know a lot of people are harsh on this 2 parter for stuff like the Pony of Shadows being a kinda generic DAAARRRRKNESSSS villain, but I dont care, I really love this season finale. The theme of season 7 really seemed to be worldbuilding and history, and I always dig that sorta thing, when a fiction series has its own in-universe lore and mythology. Not to mention a lot of the music was really giving me a Kingdom Hearts kinda vibe
Actually I think that the quests were not representing the elements of harmony but the pillar's elements Applejack- Strong enough to push a boulder, Rarity- spread the garden's beauty Rainbow and Spike- was brave enough to race a bunch of dragons and then match their energy Fluttershy- Helped with making medicine for healing Pinkie Pie- Had hope she'd find the blindfold
Late but, something that I liked from the finale is the atmosphere they set up when they fell through the collapsing floor and found a underground temple. The music and the imagery is REALLY creepy and mysterious, it still gives me chills everytime I watch it. I mean it looks like a shrine dedicated to the pony of shadows, and raises so many questions... why is it abandoned? what IS the pony of shadows? who or why were they " worshipping " it? what happened to the ponies ( if they are ponies) living there? It barely showed what was down there but its really mysterious. But its probably just me being really jumpy to anything with a creepy tone, vibe, and atmosphere and probably overreacting.
Lyra & BonBon are canonically married. in “The Big Mac Question”, they proposed to each other in the background while the apples were screaming all over the place. In “The final Problem”, when Twi was going through the old newspaper, there’s a picture of the 2 of them in a carriage with cans trailing behind, and they were both in wedding gowns.
@@13xPetra I am 100% absolutely certain. Beware! Spoilers ahead! What other reason would Lyra have to kneel in front of her girlfriend, cry, and hold up a ring?
It occurs to me, I heard in the making of the MLP movie that they had an idea they felt was too big for the TV and needed the big screen. Also, that they started it around Season 4 and had to keep doing re-writes. Since then, I think plenty of epic things have happened in the show itself, including this finale. But I do want more movies. I think I heard a long time ago that they did have plans for a sequel. Maybe it's partially done by now so we won't have to wait as long.
I said the exact same thing after the episode was over. I really hope we get to see these living legends getting used to the new world. I do think they could manage an episode for each given the just how different they are and their impact on the world was. Meadowbrook still has living family to return to. Not just Cat tail, who points out hes just the only one that looks after her home. So maybe we could see a reunion with them and perhaps see her sharing her arcane healing knowledge with the family and modern doctors. Ironhoof's civilisation was completely lost to time if that excavation was to be understood. So he might a sense of loss and a need to find a new place to call home. There is also the angle of him being a literal living example of a lost culture that scholars might want to study and learn from. Somnambula is almost worshipped like a Goddess by her people these days. So seeing her grow accustomed to such adoration while understanding how the world has grown could be cute. Also there is the Daring Do factor that could play into affairs since that seems to be where she does her work. Maybe she might even know about some of the items or enemies Daring Do has dealt with in the area and be of some help that way. Flash Magnus will possible have a shaky start when returning to his nation to find they are no longer such a regimented force and have all these new ways of creating and controlling the weather. You could have some interesting perspectives on the mindset of the Pegasus nation and maybe the revelation of lost flying tricks to teach the Wonderbolts. They could even bring Batwing ponies to the forefront, with maybe Flash Magnus having a disdain for them and we could handle some racial tensions. Mist Mane might be the weakest of the lot in terms of getting a new story. I could see her reuniting with that one relative but unfortunately not much else. Well perhaps the writers could use the opertunity to flesh out what a modern Eastern Equestra looks like. Starswirl I think will be pretty easy to work him into the story in varied ways. His spells of sulpted the modern magic world in Equestria, so they could have him show up at festivals with Twilight and the others to show what an inspriation he was. Perhaps have him look in on current affairs like the Crystal Empire where he gets involved tracking down where Sombra found such dark talents which could lead to other bigger things. Now what kind of bigger things do I mean? Well we've just had it shown that there is some old occult worship going on in Equestria with the revelation of that temple. The Pony of Shadows didn't make it, he said he found it and that the shadow there spoke to him. This isn't the first time we've seen some unseen force twisting ponies to the dark side. What if this shows there is some unknown menace still lurking around and trying to bring down the Nation through other, more public figures. I honestly think if they did go this way it might be an interesting way to reintroduce Grogar into the modern MLP. Not just as a necromancer, but perhaps as a cult leader that has been letting aiding some of the horrors that assault the kingdom. Not all of them, since Tirak, Discord and that were working under their own steam. Though things like that temple with a dark spirit, Luna's dark turn, Sombra's twisted powers and such could have been unleashed by him in some way.
DLAlucard well Luna could been her dark side showing. It seems that powerful magic plus negative emotions equals monster transformation at least ponies or their human equals.
THEORY: When you go through the portal to humanland(or at least aren’t a human originally), you’re eternally a teenager. Sunset Shimmer was there for at least 3 years but she and Twilight looked to be about the same age. Same with the Sirens. They had supposedly been there for at least 1000 years, and we know there’s no time difference between the 2, so it was 1000 years for both parties. It makes sense.
TheGamingDragon123 I know she was corrupted by a dark force in the COMICS, but in the show, it's always implied to be 100% her own fault, no "Nightmare Forces" necessary.
EmZite Official Racebest, eh? > bad jokes for 53 minutes > constant glimmer hate > everyone despises the finale Yeah no thanks I'm skipping the Bronies React.

I was unsure about the Pony of Shadow's voice at first as well... until I heard him as Stygian. The transition between of voices in the line "...so I became stronger than any of them" literally sent chills down my spine. His performance is darn amazing.
agreed. Bill Newton did a wonderful performance!
That honestly gave me goosebumps, I really like his voice in this episode and especially at that part
That gave me Yu-Gi-Oh! vibes when Marik began possessing his victims.
Celestia herself stated that Starswirl didn't understand friendship. I like how you compared Stygian to Spike. I never considered that.
Neither did I but it is a good point.
Kind of a combination of Spike and Starlight.
Made me wonder how in the next season how the guy who cause his friend to become a monster can run a friendship school?

Starlight: Is the one who suggested reforming Stigeon
Starswirl: And Twilight saved the day. All her. Twilight.
Starlight the Bearded
Great lol

_It took me a while to realize what you did-_
@@nanami_akumudeadchannel7115 took me all week too realize what you did.
This season it is just so damn hard to pick a top anything it's been so damn amazing!
So if a branch of the Apple family lived in a village that had an underground temple/shrine dedicated to an Elderich horror abomination, does that mean that part of the Apple family was part of a cult and worshiped the Shadow?
i doubt it, but it would make for a really interesting episode
Why does that sound like the pilot episode of Friendship is for Adults?
Takisan111
Probably because in that episode for Friendship is for Adults when Twilight and Spike first visit the apple farm the Apple family were Nightmare Moon cultists or something like that.
So what you're saying is "All hail Shadow."?
"He just went out for cigarettes one day and he was gone!"
That's where I died.
Blank I am DEFIANTLY subscribing!!!!
I can’t get over Somnambula’s voice! I found her voice so sultry to the ears.
46:10 "Ooh! We ended on just Twilight and Starlight hugging."
Trixie gonna be jelly.
Starlight isn't practicing Necromancy, but She and Trixie made something rise.
Alice Wait, what was that supposed to... oh.

Which character has the best voice to you???
A.) Starswirl the bearded.
B.) Somnambula
C.) Rockhoof
D.) Flash Magnus
E.) Mistmane
F.) Meadowbrook
G.) All of the above
H.) Stygian
Somnambula
Somnambula's accent is beautiful
I wanna punch Starswirl back into Limbo for how he treated two of my favorite ponies.
Anthony Gutierrez Nah mate, after this starswirl is second best.
Josh Blackwell Meadowbrook
"Um, (name), what are you doing?" Is Starlight's new catchphrase apparently.
Timeturner I think that would be a good theory!
Good theory. Would make starswirl even more of an asshole. I like it!
Seafood dinner told you.
*SEAFOOD DINNER FUCKING TOLD YOU AND YOU DIDNT LISTEN*

Tell em boi! I WARNED THEM, THEY DIDNT LISTEN!!
15:50 why Blank, it’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see.
Ah, Hamilton.
"they did, he's the president" lmaO good show blank
The president of shadows. Yeah, he isn't the brightest...
Flynn Stick to the shadows, it's safer than the light.
A few days back, I was talking with a friend of mine who's seen basically nothing of the show. Though a long conversation, he fell into trying to name all the main charachters. "So, there's like, Applejack, and Twilight, and Flash Rainboom, and Rarity, and... Shutterfly?"
And I just cracked up. My friend's discord.
Now, to watch this reaction.
Blank Check: Legacy, What is a legacy?
Me: IT’S PLANTING SEEDS IN A GARDEN YOU NEVER GET TO SEE!!!
AHAHAHAAAAhAHA you are SO DUMB
And they send the shadow to the human world... Just like the sirens... Congrats everyone..
To Limbo actually.
+smile :D
That icon! Thanks, I didn’t need sleep anyways.
Are we just going to ignore the fact that Equestria Girls just became canon! I mean the Dazzlings are in the episode!
you wouldn't believe how many people out there still say EQG is irrelevant.
Siggy Reagan How? The Dazzlings were right bloody there!
It's their inner purist screaming out trying to deny anything that doesn't meld with their 'canon' irrelevant
And even if you could have made the argument that showing the Sirens didn't necessarily make EqG canon, Sunset makes a cameo in the last song of the show, therefore making all arguments against the canonicity of EqG invalid.
Technicaly, we don't actually know where the portal lead. So, it's not REALLY canon. It's just suggested...
OMG YES, i would love to see an episode focusing on each of them!!
The possibilities are infinite
Here's an idea. Tea with Fluttershy, Meadowbrook and Discord
Kimberly-Anne Possible Awesome Idea! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Holy crap imagine if they actually did a three part at some point o.o.
That would be insane.
14:14 meh, Maud could have thrown that further.
yeah, it would have landed in the same place xD

eviljbrian yeah, but that was a myth and time looses things in translation
Possibly, but all myths and legends usually contain a seed of truth. Plus the end of the episode there WAS a shadowy presence and I don't remember if it was touched upon in subsequent episodes.
yea but to be honest they just recycled the name
They DID Lampshade it in the opening of the first episode of the finale.
Epic Fable Not really because Josh Haber...
Shadow dude is technically the first male alicorn in the show. Lol, awesome
Also I really hope Stygian becomes another pupil of Twilight
Liam White
If banishment becomes the only option I vote for the human world. That way Sunset Shimmer and her friends can have a crack at it and attempt to succeed where the others have failed. Plus it let's us see more of the villain. (Which is why I hope Starswirl accidentally had the portal opened to the human world instead of limbo.)
36:45 that might be how the rainbow rocks thing started

29:21 Pinkie! At least buy her dinner first!
This episode is just EPIC !!
This is the biggest tie in and epic finale in all the history of the show.
My thoughts:
- Star Swirled and the Pillars
- Pony of Shadows
- Old Ponish = Old English. Confirmed by what they said in Ep 24.
- Indiana Jones reference
- Petunia, that archeology pony from the Gabby ep.
- the origin on the Element/Tree o f Harmony
- more Old english/ponish
- the pillars staying in Equestria
- lesson for all adults, pride can cloud kindness and logic
- reflections of both types of elements
- More explanation on how magic works
- an epic soundtrack
- History of Equestria and Tie-ins
- Starlight being the voice of logic and reason
- Earth Ponies and Pegasus gave magic and with the help of a unicorn, infuse that magic into something like a normal unicorn.
- Celestia and Luna background on age, timeline, etc.
- Evidence of how dragons are adjusting to Ember's rule
- Seeing how the curved horned asian ponies have evolved
- darkness shrines? So there were times where those worshipped the darkness? Cool
- EQG world now canon, so Sunset may come over in Season 8?
- Hilarious jokes and cool backgrounds
- Sooo many VA's and characters in this ep.
- Turning away from others hurts yourself
- When meeting your idol, don't forget yourself.
13:34 "Is that the pony?"
That's Petunia. She found dinosaur bones buried in her backyard and got her cutie mark in archeology. Remember?
So the sirens appearing had two effects: Confirming the EQG movies are in the same multiverse and making the desire for the return of said sirens even stronger.
The book on Sea Pony etiquette made me think about when the movie and the Equestria Girls specials are supposed to take place. I think they both are during Season 7.
It's been a while since I studied Nordic Runes, but if memory serves at 07:13 it reads PONY RULES....but spelled phonetically as PONI.
37:15 My Little Pony "a family show"
7:15 Shoutout to everyone who's familiar with Runic alphabets and realizes that inscription literally reads "Poni Rules."
SpacialRend7 nothing beats the magic WWE of season 4 or the doctor who showdown of season 5.
We are all entitled to our own opinions.
It really is the best!
Although... I actually predicted the whole plot. Like, really. "Ok, so this will happen.. yes.. then this has to happen.. yeeees. And now.. YES! YES AND YES! WOOHOO!"
IDK, the most fun part was exactly the fact that I could immediately name every scene that's going to happen.
I also loved seeing the sirens canonically in the show...at first. The scene was great, but it now directly conflicts with how it was portrayed in the comics, which was a bit more fun. Oh well, it was still a great tie-in.
Scott The Scout why spoilers :c
15:48 legacy, what is a legacy? Me: it's planting seeds an a garden you never get to see
"The Elements. It’s happening differently this time, isn’t it?" I'm sure you know the quote... ;)
If one were to pick at the similarities when getting the artifacts, Applejack and Rockhoof's strength, Rarity and Mistmane's beauty (and generosity), Rainbow Dash and Flash Magnus's outsmarting a dragon, Fluttershy and Medobrook's kindness, and Pinkie Pie's and Somnambula's hope. Those last two I'm not quite sure...
And Pinkie, you're hugging the wrong "face". XD

FoxNinja4000 that’s so cool!
I just recognized that the Pony of Shadows’ title had to be said every single time he was mentioned because the abbreviation is POS and there’s noooo way that Hasbro could’ve had the characters call him that😂
This is my favorite two-parter yet, as well as my second favorite episode of the season, and my third favorite episode of the series.
6:54 "Spike's like, I'm gonna sit this episode out. You guys go ahead."
Just like when Twilight and the gang went after Nightmare Moon and the elements.
So supposedly the MLP movie is to take place between season 7 and 8. So imagine the possibilities for season 8. Everything we got this season + the Legends + Tempest & Friends = a really long Hiatus.
S.O.C Graffiti As long as it doesn’t pull a season 4 to 5 hiatus(or whatever seasons had the year long gap) we’re good.
2:49 "Did they make the tree?"
The pillars are gonna make like a tree and leave! ;)
Well ... yeah. It echoed Nightmare Moon. Wasn't it supposed to?
What i think it is, it means that king sombra F-A-K-E-D his death and is playing mind games
Yay I've been waiting for you to upload this so I could watch the finale with you since I haven't seen it yet
"OH NO ANAKIN!"
I died XD
Way back in the two sisters castle episode in season 4 my friend and talked about the concept of starswirl having a book that he had a piece of his soul in that he could appear like the book in this episode. This episode pretty much confirmed our theory but then again back then we thought he was dead but still.

I just screamed into my pillow wishing for a 7th Element.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I love how those 'magical runes' they've never seen before literally just say 'Pony Runes' XD X'D
14:10 THICC thighs save lives
Actually I think that the quests were not representing the elements of harmony but the pillar's elements Applejack- Strong enough to push a boulder, Rarity- spread the garden's beauty Rainbow and Spike- was brave enough to race a bunch of dragons and then match their energy Fluttershy- Helped with making medicine for healing Pinkie Pie- Had hope she'd find the blindfold
14:10 I see Applejack have been taking lessons from Maud
7:10 "Poni Rules" it says.
Wow, I'ma have to go back and check that out....are you positive? If so, that's incredible!
@@13xPetra I am 100% absolutely certain.
Beware! Spoilers ahead!
What other reason would Lyra have to kneel in front of her girlfriend, cry, and hold up a ring?

YOU KNOW, FOR KIDS
It occurs to me, I heard in the making of the MLP movie that they had an idea they felt was too big for the TV and needed the big screen. Also, that they started it around Season 4 and had to keep doing re-writes. Since then, I think plenty of epic things have happened in the show itself, including this finale. But I do want more movies. I think I heard a long time ago that they did have plans for a sequel. Maybe it's partially done by now so we won't have to wait as long.
Wish sombra can return now… shadow demon, shadow temple… Return of the shadow king
18:34 "Look, don't talk to me about pony junk."
I've seen Big Macintosh up close.
this shadow just reminds me of the venom simbiote from spiderman comics
29:20 I honestly though you were going to be all like "Um...UM! Bad touch, Pinkie! Bad touch!" xD
I love how everyone thinks that Cathy voiced that dragon. XD
"That also explains New Jersey." Ha!
Equestria Girls canon confirmed.
27:51 Why is Pinkie referencing that jizz rag of a book, when she has a semi-clean copy.
It makes sense.
i'm getting nightmare moon vibes here... the darkness spoke of power? they became one? who agrees with me?
TheGamingDragon123 well it's something about shadows, Luna got corrupted by the so called "darkness"
TheGamingDragon123 Probably the same shadow whom connection to statue of Discord shattering said by our show creator.
TheGamingDragon123 I know she was corrupted by a dark force in the COMICS, but in the show, it's always implied to be 100% her own fault, no "Nightmare Forces" necessary.
How is that above Applejack's caliber? She stopped a speeding train going downhill with her own four hooves. Even Spider-Man could barely do that.
2:25 (hears someone say Sombra’s name) WHERE?!
Blank check: why didn't they send the shadow pony to Earth.
Me: They have enough problems all ready
