Bull, I would have thrown at his head
@@davidmoss2576In which case, he would have been in no danger.
Well as a pitcher you gotta get your catchers back. Intentional or not.
@@AsianVideoGamer*have your catcher's back, intentional or not.
Yes Miles should have been ejected. Happ was definitely accidental. Hoping Contreras has a speedy recovery
Don’t throw intentional pitches at people if don’t want to be ejected announcers.
Take a hit after you deck the catcher.. that’s just expected in baseball. People are a bunch of pusses these days.
I couldn't believe the announcers defended the Pitcher! Worst intentional plunk I've seen!
Did the Cards really retaliate after a backswing? 😂
Yep and got their pitcher and manager ejected in the first inning. It’s like they all took a shot to the head before coming to that decision lol
Lol which was really dumb.
Let me be clear folks I don't like the Cardinals but a hitter should never hit a catcher with a backswing intentional no but I don't care they can't happen quit trying to Jack the baseball to Mars & control the bat.
I had no problem with the Cardinals plunking him ejection worthy for me no absolutely not but a warning & we go on yes.
Lance Barksdale the crew chief needs to be fined & suspended for that ejection taking place you warn them Happ knew it was coming never said a word only way I eject Mikolas is if he hits Happ in the head or shoulders. The hip no just a warning.
@@patrickgray5633 he tried to hit him in the head on the previous pitch lol
@@patrickgray5633they could have been soft and warned both teams, but the umpires drew a line and said, no more, with that ejection. They were within the rules to eject the pitcher, and when the manager argued, he was rung up.
If he has hit him with the first pitch, they would’ve just warned the benches. He threw high and inside at him twice, easy ejection.
Once. The one that hit him wasn't "high and inside."
@@ATalkingBadgerthe pitch he threw previously was. they just didn’t show it because they’re biased. just like they didn’t show Contreras hugging Happ
I like how Happ just kinda took it like yeah I understand why you did that.
He was the better man recognize he did wrong
@@urielrdz30he did wrong by accidentally hitting him on a backswing? Are you that stupid?
No one in the comments apparently understands that lol but it appear the umpires don’t understand the game either
He knew he was going to
@@bendover2425cry about it
I love how the announcers are just completely taken aback for him getting thrown out LOL
That was the most obvious most intentional hbp ever and the announcers are gonna defend it😂
It's ESPN, should we really be surprised by the moronic announcing?
AT LEAST he didn't head hunt. That's about my only take from this. lol
@@toptenguy1I’ve heard online that he tried, there was supposedly another clip of him trying to pitch it past Haps head, but he missed
Lol c'mon the batter didnt no where intentionally hit him with the bat on purpose...by far 😢 i would have through the pitcher out...and the announcer sounds like pure stupidity lets have the feel of baseball like fr? I knew what he meant and ive seen mound rushes and the whole 9 yrds and theres unwritten rules when to throw at a batter but this was not anywhere close to that facts
Bro the that was intentional on Contreras....im sure he was talking trash....there is no professional MLB player that cant handle a baseball bat.
@@TheReal-trublu357have you ever seen when they lose control of the bat and it goes flying into the dugout or the crowd? That makes zero sense. There’s no reason to hit the catcher in the head with the backswing, that’s a silly conclusion.
@@TheReal-trublu357go watch it at .25x playbackback speed bro he didnt do it on purpose big dawg
Ive watched it 10 times and everytime even his mechanics after came around was all natural frfr watch it close
@@TheReal-trublu357 you've clearly never watched baseball before bats go flying all the time 💀
Unless you think Happ hit him on purpose, which is ridiculous, what's the point in hitting him??
Because you’re mad?
@@frozenrats lol! Ooookay
The message is “control your swing” obviously it wasn’t intentional on Happ’s part, but actions have consequences.
@@dbliss741They sure do. In this case the message was "You accidentally hit our catcher, we'll get our coach and starting pitcher tossed in the first inning and you'll get a free base. That'll teach you!"
He pitched 0.2 innings hit Happ then got ejected then cubs scored and he got the loss and it’s a free win for the cubs and now they are 500 with a 6 win streak
I fully agree with this ejection lol. Happ didn’t intentionally hit Contreras and they were former teammates and hugged after it happened. This is followed by the most obvious intentionally HBP ever. Cardinals continue to dig their own grave
Bro they didn't show the part where they hugged it out!!! That totally changes the story
Cards announcers don't have any "feel for the game". The HBP was clearly intentional, and Mikolas more or less admitted it afterward. In the old days the umpires would let this sh*# go until there was a full-on brawl. I guess that's what they mean by "feel for the game."
The announcers said the pitcher was "protecting" his catcher. Well, it was nothing but retaliation. Then, they kept whining about it for the rest of the game.
Happ and Contreras are friends. The hit was unintentional. Apologies were said and both players hugged it out, yet Mikolas felt the need to escalate something that was already squashed
clearly not intentional on Happ’s part. Bush league from Mikolas
Mikolas gave up 5 runs to the Cubs in his last start a few days ago. He wanted no part of them tonight. He knew he would get ejected if he hit Happ (especially after throwing inside on the previous pitch) and that he wouldn’t have to suffer through another embarrassing outing against his team’s biggest rival who just happens to be one of the hottest teams in baseball right now. That’s why this really happened. It wasn’t to “send a message” because Happ obviously didn’t do that on purpose
And he still got the loss lol
Love how corny announcers when they get mad lol no way! Have a feel for baseball! Lol
So the first pitch buzzed Happ, and then Mikolas throws at Happ AGAIN and actually hits him, and the (clearly Cardinals-based) announcers are surprised Mikolas and Marmol got thrown out? Lol sure, dudes. If you're gonna throw at a guy, hit him on the first pitch. If you miss, you missed your chance.
At least they weren’t playing this game like it’s Skyrim!
Good god the cardinals announcers cried the entire game. Was a really bad look for them. (Not a fan of either team)
Then shut up and not worry about they've been annoucers forever and are passionate
I was p.o when it happened but im a cards fan forever
@@Chynxi05 there’s a difference between being passionate & overreacting
