This is a great orientation vid (and I've watched many...)! Hope you're settling in - doing Fall 2019 ;) Coming from Vietnam a) squat toilets are an everyday thing so no problemo, b) scared of the snow because I haven't had a winter in 2 years, c) shower heads over the toilet are also no problemo and d) soup for breakfast is life. Good luck, can't wait to see your adventures! P.S Hello Panda (chocolate) is so yum -much better than Peppero.
OMG thank you so much. You don't know how happy I get when I see comments. I'm posting part 2 of the orientation in 3 days, I hope you willl enjoy the rest of it. I ahve never seen snow in my life so i was literally dying. Good luck hahaha. I love soup so much. Orientation is so informative you'll enjoy it. I'm going to look for this and I hope to thank you one day.
Have a great time! I did EPIK in 2014-2015. Then taught after that at an international school in China. Now been back home for a few years in Australia and teaching at a local primary school. Look forward to your vlogs and year of EPIK teaching.
Palesa you made this look so interesting. Very enjoyable. Personally I don't think I'd cope that well with things like food and the coldness and just overall moving, I already have a problem when I have to leave Soweto, mara wena you make it seem a bit manageable. Very kool content.
@@PalesaJonas Lol I can imagine. Seems like you didn't have much of a problem with food when you first got there. I mean it looks interesting and all but nah fam. I'm such a picky eater, nje mo kasi there's quite a few things I don't eat so it'd be a bit of a struggle. Anyway after watching your content, you make it seem soooo interesting to a point where one might want to pursue something like that.
Ilze Amos yes, Epik picks everyone up with all their bags at the airport to the orientation. After orientation Epik will take you to your apartment as well.
@@PalesaJonas Thank you. I'm currently in my 3rd week of in-class TEFL, and I've been learning so much from your channel.. especially regarding thr money side, cause girl, I can't with the USD comparisons.. i want to know the rands...thank you so much
Hey, Yes EPIK fetches you at the airport as soon as you land. They take you to the university campus and give you free food and accommodation. And after orientation they drop you at your fully furnished apartment all for free. I had to fly from where orientation was to get to this Island, They bought my airplane ticket too.
No, as long as you were honest about it from get go (application) and wear glasses. The most common reason I know is people being sent home for failing the drug test or having TB.
@@PalesaJonas What if your vision is fine with glasses/contacts? On the application it says something about "excluding vision that is easily correctable with glasses or contacts" so I put "no" for eye problems (because I would be in the "easily correct with contacts" category). Should I have still put "yes?"
Shook at how Chupa Chups has juice on that side 😂😂😄 Has anyone asked “are you related to the Jonas Brothers yet? ” 😂 Thank you again for the informative video ♥️
