Sometimes God calls us to be single. Even if we don’t agree. Been single in Gods path 23 years. I raised my kids alone who are now 26 and 24. I prayed long time and waited then surrendered to him saying no. Even if people don’t want to hear it I lived it and now I’ve accepted it.
God is a loving Father and will never put any burden on his children. I don’t agree that he calls people to be single “against their will and desires”. This is not the heart of a loving father. We have to understand that God designed marriage and his intention and purpose for marriage has never changed. Some people are raised by single parents who choose to stay single and focus on raising their kids and may have been in a bad relationship the past. We have to recognise that we live in a different world and need to rely on the Holy Spirit to bring God’s sons and daughters together. If marriage is your heart desire take it to God in prayer and believe he has someone special for you and live it in his hands and get on with your life. God never puts any burden on his children by forcing them to be single when their heart desire is to be married. God bless you

We have to be very careful with these catchy analogies. In 2CORINTHIANS 6:14-19 God or anywhere else in the scriptures does not say: Don't be unequally yoked together with luke warm believers... But God says, "don't be unequally yoked together with (unbelievers)..." It is unbelievers that we are told not to marry; God doesn't say we should not marry believers who are not on fire, don't have passion for the Lord,...there is no such word in the bible. Therefore we have to be careful and know that we are adding on God's word. This analogy of hot and lukewarm is not godly but earthly. It is not inspired of God Holy Spirit. We will do well when we reject repel and renounce it. There's no Christian who makes themselves hot or lukewarm...God does.

I have been married for 30 years and at this time my husband is sick .I know he is Not perfect but I can not abandon Him in his time of Need . He is not where I would love Him to be I pray he Gets where God approves .
The temperature comes down or they clash. The on fire for God partner ends up so incredibly frustrated. The Bible calls it unequally yoked, take my word for it (married for 20 years, I didn't know Jesus when I got married) and it has been the most painful to be unequally yoked. Don't do it! Because a Christian, a Believer does not have passion for God that doesn't make them an unbeliever. There's no where where the bible says when you are married to a lukewarm Believer you are married to an unbeliever. Don't confuse yourself. Believers come in all kinds of shapes styles and forms. To use your analogy of hot and lukewarm water: What do we do when our water for tea or coffee is lukewarm? We put it back on the fire. Similarly, put your lukewarm husband on the fire...God Holy Spirit. Bring him to church, pray and fast, cast out the spirit 'ice' making him lukewarm. Pray together, read the bible together, sing praises to the Lord Jesus Christ together. Together proclaim and declare the word of speaking to your situation, together. Clean the house together, clean outside together, cook together, eat out together, have Sunday dream drives just to be together and God Holy Spirit. Put your husband on the fire. Ask God for the gift of God Holy Spirit and His fire to fall on your husband. And he will be on fire. Whilst you are on it, It would be a good thing that you ask for the fire of God too!

Read 2Corinthians 6:14-19, the scripture does not say being married to a lukewarm warm person you are unequally yoked together with an unbeliever. But my husband is not that into Him and it's hard to have a red hot relationship with the Lord when the other is nonchalant. But like Alwyn says it's inevitable that the luke warm keeps the temp down, even when you desire to influence. We get along great in every other area, laugh together, have fun, etc., but please pray for my husband to fall in love with Jesus. And more of Jesus for me too!! Same situation for me and my husband. It was really tough when I got saved and on fire for God and he didn't understand and wasn't interested. But God taught me that the only way He can work on the situation is if I let it go completely and entrust it to Him completely. It took me a while to do that fully and it's still a daily process of letting go everyday and giving it to God fully everyday. It's so important to trust God with your situation. I am praying for you, sister. Psalm 37:3-5 Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.
I believe our Father is already working on your husband. I also believe it is time for you not to interfere with Father when He trains his son, and take him on his prodigal journey or Joseph s/o Jacob's journey. A wife can be a help meet (ezer in Hebrew) but do stay away from enabling him. I can testify that Father trains His sons differently from daughters. Their situations and circumstances will definitely involve breaking his rebellious spirit, and self-righteousness. I married a man I knew God was saying no to, but I didn't believe I'd ever find anyone else, and my family wasn't helping that mentality. Things were fine for a few years until our son was diagnosed with a severe disability, then he became incredibly abusive. We ended up divorcing, he remarried and divorced her too. Having to speak with him still gives me the anxiety I used to get when he would be so cruel in the past. I know I blew it on that one, and now am just praying asking for God to help me be content in being alone. I wish it wasn't so hard a want to let go of, but I know I don't have a choice if I want to adhere to God's Will. The wait is worth it, and I wish so much that I had listened to God instead of the world.
Ditto to this. I also got into a marriage that I now realize was not His ideal will. The marriage was not healthy, let’s say. And now I must stay single. I agree, it’s good to wait! I’ve told people that it’s better to be single and have lonely feelings than be in a marriage and feel alone. Though we are never alone with Jesus.

Two power houses
The temperature comes down or they clash. The on fire for God partner ends up so incredibly frustrated. The Bible calls it unequally yoked, take my word for it (married for 20 years, I didn't know Jesus when I got married) and it has been the most painful to be unequally yoked. Don't do it! Praying for you all to find your kingdom spouse!
Because a Christian, a Believer does not have passion for God that doesn't make them an unbeliever.
There's no where where the bible says when you are married to a lukewarm Believer you are married to an unbeliever.
Don't confuse yourself.
Believers come in all kinds of shapes styles and forms. The bottom line is they are children of God by virtue of believing and receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

To use your analogy of hot and lukewarm water:
What do we do when our water for tea or coffee is lukewarm?
We put it back on the fire.
Similarly, put your lukewarm husband on the fire...God Holy Spirit. Bring him to church, pray and fast, cast out the spirit 'ice' making him lukewarm.
Pray together, read the bible together, sing praises to the Lord Jesus Christ together. Together proclaim and declare the word of speaking to your situation, together.
Clean the house together, clean outside together, cook together, eat out together, have Sunday dream drives just to be together and God Holy Spirit.
Put your husband on the fire. Ask God for the gift of God Holy Spirit and His fire to fall on your husband. And he will be on fire. Whilst you are on it, It would be a good thing that you ask for the fire of God too!
In the book of Hebrews (10:36) God Holy Spirit says to you:
"You need to persevere, so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive the reward promised."
Endure.
This is an opportunity for you to grow spiritually to have wholesome pious character as you pray and watch God nurture and irrigate the seed of spiritual rebirth in your husband.
Be joyful in Perseverance
Be patient in affliction
Be faithful in prayer
Read 2Corinthians 6:14-19, the scripture does not say being married to a lukewarm warm person you are unequally yoked together with an unbeliever.
Don't put words in God's mouth or else you will be in a worse situation than the one you are in. Not that it isn't surmountable...all things are possible to her/him who believes in God.
Be patient.

Please listen to the Lord through Alwyn. I met my spouse when I wasn't walking with Jesus. Later we were saved, praise Jesus! But my husband is not that into Him and it's hard to have a red hot relationship with the Lord when the other is nonchalant. But like Alwyn says it's inevitable that the luke warm keeps the temp down, even when you desire to influence. We get along great in every other area, laugh together, have fun, etc., but please pray for my husband to fall in love with Jesus. And more of Jesus for me too!! I would love for us both to be as close as possible to Him. This is Especially to the ladies, because God wants the husband to lead spiritually in Christ. We had a flourishing music ministry yrs ago, but things got tough when people started getting competative, not to make Jesus known but to compete musically, worldly. Same situation for me and my husband. It was really tough when I got saved and on fire for God and he didn't understand and wasn't interested. But God taught me that the only way He can work on the situation is if I let it go completely and entrust it to Him completely. It took me a while to do that fully and it's still a daily process of letting go everyday and giving it to God fully everyday. It's so important to trust God with your situation. I am praying for you, sister. Psalm 37:3-5

I believe our Father is already working on your husband. I also believe it is time for you not to interfere with Father when He trains his son, and take him on his prodigal journey or Joseph s/o Jacob's journey. A wife can be a help meet (ezer in Hebrew) but do stay away from enabling him.
I can testify that Father trains His sons differently from daughters. Their situations and circumstances will definitely involve breaking his rebellious spirit, and self-righteousness. I pray you have a new strength- watch on the sideline, pray and find a new skill/hobby 😅😂🎉
I married a man I knew God was saying no to, but I didn't believe I'd ever find anyone else, and my family wasn't helping that mentality. Things were fine for a few years until our son was diagnosed with a severe disability, then he became incredibly abusive. We ended up divorcing, he remarried and divorced her too. Having to speak with him still gives me the anxiety I used to get when he would be so cruel in the past. I know I blew it on that one, and now am just praying asking for God to help me be content in being alone. I wish it wasn't so hard a want to let go of, but I know I don't have a choice if I want to adhere to God's Will. The wait is worth it, and I wish so much that I had listened to God instead of the world.
Ditto to this. I also got into a marriage that I now realize was not His ideal will. The marriage was not healthy, let’s say. And now I must stay single. I agree, it’s good to wait! I’ve told people that it’s better to be single and have lonely feelings than be in a marriage and feel alone. Though we are never alone with Jesus.

That is exactly why I’ve never married (yet) although I am in my 60’s and I would like to marry my kingdom spouse - it’s not looking like that will ever happen and I am ok with that. I’ve seen too many Christians married and in such strife and angst- I’d rather be lonely and alone to serve the Lord fully than to be in a wrong marriage that distracts me from serving God. I’ve not given up hope but I am not letting that hope stop me from serving my Lord. All in for Jesus!
