I was just thinking, Dang, it is so good to see Dale out and about. Standing there in the door window of your truck was the greatest opening scene in a video in the past two years! Love that view of the Hoover Dam. I loved every single time I drove that way back to Kingman, so I could get back to work following a weekend of exploration. I absolutely love those Saguaros. Wow...nice Hilton! One of the nicest place I have ever stayed was at the Gila River Hotel and Casino at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler Arizona, outside of Phoenix. The food at The Pony Tavern looks awesome! Oh my nice selection of whiskeys in Pitch! Old Town Scottsdale looks so cool. I love the music you are playing in Old Scottsdale. The Rusty Spur looks like a really cool space. Arizona sunsets are simply the best. This is one of my favorite videos.
Great video guys! That sunset was beautiful! If you all want to see a breathtaking sunrise come on to my neck of the woods in VA and watch it rise over the Atlantic. Paula, love your necklaces. Haven't been to LV since 2019 and I miss it!
I just love Arizona! There is an abundance of natural beauty there. There's lots to do and see in Metro Phoenix too. The drive between Las Vegas and Phoenix may be boring to some, but I loved it. I always enjoy watching the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction on TV, so while I was watching it you were there (in Scottsdale)! Glad you had a great time! By the way, you two are looking great - healthy and relaxed. I think retirement will be wonderful for you both 🤗
Thanks so much - I know I am looking forward to this new chapter in our life and what it will bring. I totally agree with your opinion of Arizona - it's just gorgeous!
@@paulamckenzie Hey Paula ...with all of your free time (ha!) when you retire, you should start a new YT Channel called 'Paula Cooks Up a Storm' . I wish I could see your face when you read this comment - or better yet, hear which bad word(s) you said. Haha!😂

Oh my goodness, what a story about Kingman!! I love that you two can laugh about that but that’s pretty creepy and I hear stories all the time about gas stations/truck stops. Scottsdale is beautiful! I went for one day a few years ago when my parents lived in the Phoenix area. What a beautiful hotel and Paula’s chicken sandwich! Well, it’s 7:30 am and that already made me hungry! 😂
While the videos you make of Vegas are top notch, nothing compares to watching you 2 enjoy a getaway. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the trip down to Scottsdale. Thank you for the entertainment and hours of content.
Looks like a beautiful weekend and downtown looks great. ....but they should pay you many times that for doing the Hilton commercial. Must be a fancy place to support that crazy price. Sorry to have missed you in Vegas!
We think the high room rates were because of the Barrett-Jackson car auction happening that weekend. If you look at rates now, they are quite a bit lower than we paid. 😏
I love the Joshua Tree Forrest. I think Arizona is beyond BEAUTIFUL! But then again, I am a bit biased because Arizona is my home state. Thank you for sharing this stay with us!
Great video as always!!! Flagstaff is Angie and mine Arizona getaway...cool weather in summer(great hiking & mountain biking),snow sking in winter and the Grand Canyon is just a short distance.
Excellent video. Thanks for taking us all with you, and thanks for all of your hard work! Paula, like the neclaces that you're wearing at the end of the vlog.
You guys looked so happy to be taking a well deserved break, beautiful blue skies and scenery. New gear for Dale, its nice that he is a fan of traditional and locally made. The Hilton reminded me of the Red Rock Resort, it was stunning. So happy trails to you, 'til we meet again.....next Sunday afternoon.

Hi Paula and Dale; thank you so very much for the beautiful Arizona stay-cation! Loved it! Paula; your sunrise at the pool was breathtakin.! Have a fabulous week you two! CAB😍
I love it down there, and wish Saguaro would survive up here. One drive down, we saw wild burros in amongst the saguaro - it was wonderful! Have you ever visited the Sonoran Desert Museum? It's an amazing place and it is on our list of 'places to take friends to' along with Virginia City, Tonopah, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Looks like you all had a really nice time. Glad you took a little road trip and shared it with us. Here's to more!
We have been to the museum, yes - more than once, actually. We have spent more time in Tucson and Tombstone than anywhere else in Arizona. Your list of must-dos matches ours, and that's for sure, Denise! See ya on the road...
Yes please go to kingman I only got to visit in the afternoon and there wasn’t a lot open ! Did stop to the beef 🥩 jerky place in the way down though! Awesome milkshake at a 50s diner in Kingman . Very close to Vegas can say I have been to Arizona now 😊
Hola Juan, and wow, thank you for watching from Hermosillo! That is one heck of a drive, from there to here...but you are so right, I'm sure it is beautiful.

Paula & Dale, We live just 11 miles north of this Hilton. I go by there quite often and wondered what it was like. It looks huge! Hope you two enjoyed it. We also love to stay in downtown Old Scottsdale. The farmers market is one of our favorites. My husband and I just took that route to Vegas and back to our home in Cave Creek. We go to Vegas about twice a year. Thanks for all vlogs. I look forward to them each week. Just one more thing. You need to pronounce Saguaro with a silent G. suh waa row When we moved here, everyone corrected us with the correct pronunciation. 😉
Thanks very much for the correction! I should have known, I had 5 years of Spanish in high school and college lol. I am sure life in Cave Creek is wonderful! 😊
If this is an example of what your travelogues are going to be like, count me in! Went that same route down to Kingman last year on my way to the Grand Canyon ( hint hint) and I do believe I know which gas station you're talking about. My first thought is that both the Hilton chain and Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce should be paying you for this. And by the by you both look very relaxed. This is what retirement is supposed to look like.
Thank you for another excellent vlog. Enjoyed the informative video and especially liked the sunset and early morning pictures. So peaceful looking. Hope you both enjoyed your holiday.

Hello! About ten years ago we visited Prescott, Cottonwood, Jerome, and the surrounding area - and LOVED it! That was before we started our channel…we definitely need to go back and vlog it! I remember that street with all the saloons, and a fantastic house that was a museum from old west days. It was great.
Loved your Arizona getaway. Next time you are ready for a weekend getaway and are heading this way try a stop in Surprise Az. It's closer than Scottsdale. Lots of great hotels in and around the stadium. Also, some fantastic restaurants. Surprise is truly a great up and coming area with tons of history. Thanks for another great show.
Enjoyed this video. Moved from the Phoenix area in June of last year and certainly miss many aspects. The Mission is one of my favorite restaurants in the entire region. Great video, as always!

What a nice little vacation for you Paula. We love the sunsets and all the cactuses. I can’t wait to go to Arizona when I retire just six years away. Have a great week Paula and Dale.🙏🏼🥰🧘♀️
Really good road trip! I've never been to Arizona (well, except for the Phoenix airport to connect to a flight) but I've been talking about it for some time now and I think your tour is nudging me to get up and go. First stop, though, Vegas.
Love Scottsdale area especially old town. We usually stayed at the buttes hotel in Tempe. But once at ganey ranch . You brought back some amazing memories for me . Thanks for sharing, cheers 🥂🥂 Ps you guys look great♥️
Great video (as usual). I’ll be in Scottsdale in 4 weeks for my annual get away from winter in Illinois. Your video makes anxious to get out there again. Thanks for the post.
We live in Kingman and highly recommend you guys try the Chophouse. The salmon is to die for as well as the filet mignon. Bring cash and you get a discount. It's very very good!!
Coincidence that you stayed at this new hotel. My daughter and family live about two miles from here. I’ve watched this hotel being built. I am very curious about the high patio so sorry you weren’t able to tour. Downtown “Old Town” is mix of old and new isn’t it?? Another area not far from The Hilton is Kierland Commons. It is an outdoor shopping area with many stores and restaurants on both sides of Scottsdale Rd. I’m sorry for your somewhat frightening experience in Kingman. My sisters and I had a scary visit to Ashfork that is just off Interstate 40 on the way to Las Vegas. I would never stop there again! Enjoy your reviews. We are going to Vegas in a couple of weeks so checking out your most recent reviews which are very thorough and appreciated! I always stay at the Venetian for the large suites. But I do like the Aria/Cosmopolitan area for the slot play. I watched your video on Planet Hollywood remodel so thinking we might go check it out. I’ve always wanted to eat at the Cabo but always very busy and waiting is not my husband’s specialty. Thanks again to both of you!!
I live in SoCal. A year ago I had to drive the 93 from Scottsdale to Las Vegas at night. Worst drive of my life. Pitch black. Those white lines on the right side of the road were painted incorrectly so they curved into the middle of the lane. My rental car sensed the line and kept wanting to move to the left into oncoming traffic. My hands got sweaty from the stress! You can have it!

Watching from the UK 🇬🇧, love your videos xxx
Thank you so much for watching us!! 🇬🇧🥰
I bought a saguaro cactus in Kingman last November when we were heading back home to Vegas.
How's it doing? One of the things we miss most about the house we sold two years ago was that beautiful saguaro in the front yard.
So far so good. We have it inside right now because of the cold mornings.
Wow!! Awesome getaway, guys! I am so happy you guys got out to explore 👏! Beautiful property! Crazy trailer story 😳! Love those highways ❤!!!
LOL don't you? We just never would have those fun stories to tell if we didn't get out on the road...
The next time in AZ. plan a visit to the Desert Botanical Garden - Beautiful!
We have been, on earlier visits - you’re right, it’s spectacular!
As always what a great video
Thanks so much for coming along on the trip!
Thank you for the tip - we will do that! We have driven by Surprise but never stopped. 😊
Loved the video so much! Thank you for sharing your get away :)
We were happy to have you tagging along! 😊
Awesome road trip! Looking forward to more adventures with you:)
Thanks so much! We hope to do more of these in 2023. 🛣️
Beautiful video. Nice change of pace. Can't wait for the breakfast buffet!
Enjoyed this video. Moved from the Phoenix area in June of last year and certainly miss many aspects. The Mission is one of my favorite restaurants in the entire region. Great video, as always!
Oh goodness, I bet you do miss it! Hope wherever you landed, that you’re happy there. 😊
@@paulamckenzie Went back home to Northern Kentucky and loving the four seasons and family!

Wow good for you! Hope those six years go fast, Debbie 😊
Great 👍🏽 Video ❤
THANKS FOR TAKING US ALONG
We were glad to have you there in the back seat! 😊
Really good road trip! I've never been to Arizona (well, except for the Phoenix airport to connect to a flight) but I've been talking about it for some time now and I think your tour is nudging me to get up and go. First stop, though, Vegas.
Hey Jacob, fitting both Vegas AND Arizona into a single trip is a very appealing itinerary...just sayin'...
Love Scottsdale area especially old town.
We usually stayed at the buttes hotel in Tempe. But once at ganey ranch . You brought back some amazing memories for me .
Thanks for sharing, cheers 🥂🥂
Ps you guys look great♥️
We love to hear that! If our travels bring back happy memories of your own, that’s a great outcome. 🥰
Hello 👋🏽 Dale & Paula 😊 Enjoy You’re Vacation ❤
Hello to our pal Christine! 👋
Arizona should consider renaming the city 'Paulasdale' as a tribute to you folks.
And the Joshua Trees were named after a U2 album!
Learning is fun!
LOL OK so we don't hear from you as often as we used to, but you still crack me up! 🥰
I love the Old Scottsdale Farmers Market!
Great video (as usual). I’ll be in Scottsdale in 4 weeks for my annual get away from winter in Illinois. Your video makes anxious to get out there again. Thanks for the post.
Hilton needs to sponsor this video.
LOL don't we wish!
I just found you!! I absolutely love you two!!
Hello Denise, and welcome to our channel - so glad you discovered us! 🥰
I’ve been to Scottsdale in 2018 while I was on my trip to the US, I really enjoyed it, and it’s a nice town.
You have really seen a lot of this country, Neil! More places than I’ve been to lol 😊
@@paulamckenzie I have seen a lot of the US.
Wow! Kingman zoo and The old "Git in the trailer and git yer 4 hundred dolla" trick. lmao
Right? But if you stay home, you never get to have these fun encounters! 😜
Oh man I’d love to do that trip! Looks amazing… haha even your weirdness at the Truck Stop 😂 I love road trips!
We live in Kingman and highly recommend you guys try the Chophouse. The salmon is to die for as well as the filet mignon. Bring cash and you get a discount. It's very very good!!
Wow I never heard of the Chophouse! Thanks for the recommendation 😊
I thought you were in my front yard, in front of that cactus!
Yes! I saw the pic you posted on Facebook, and it's a twin!
Great vid! Sedona, next! 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾✌🏾✌🏾🙌🏾👊🏾👊🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
Oh my goodness, we haven't been to Sedona in probably ten years! Need to go for sure.
good morning, super- you made interesting . bye! =)
Thank you so much for watching 😊
Great tour!! But that Kingsman experience was very disturbing. I worry for less savvy people and sure hope nothing really bad was going on with that.
We hope so too - but we just feel in this crazy world nothing is free lol...and we need to be cautious!
Another Ventura Ca. Video please!!!
We have family there, so yeah, it’s likely! 😊
❤❤❤
I live in SoCal. A year ago I had to drive the 93 from Scottsdale to Las Vegas at night. Worst drive of my life. Pitch black. Those white lines on the right side of the road were painted incorrectly so they curved into the middle of the lane. My rental car sensed the line and kept wanting to move to the left into oncoming traffic. My hands got sweaty from the stress! You can have it!
