    Stuff we use:
CAMERA - This is the camera we have used to film 90+% of our interviews (over 200 interviews and counting) It continues to be our workhorse - amzn.to/2u66V1J
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
    AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/2t1n2hx
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv
COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - amzn.to/2t1M67Z
EDITING - We upgraded our editing suite this year and we’re glad we did! This has improved our workflow and the quality of our work. Having new software also helps when we have a problem, it’s easy to search and find a solution - goo.gl/56LnpM

That was a description of spectacular people skills, I'm in awe.
"I respectfully pass on your pass", it turns out, is not trivial at all but a portion of a half-hour of conversation that got the interviewee a $32 Million budget.
I wish there was somewhere that teaches how to win in board meeting type scenarios like this, I think it's essential for all higher level success.

Mothman Prophecies is such an underrated film that has perfect writing. I wish more horror writers would write more like this. Building solid characters backed by the creepy history of the Mothman without ever showing him, leaving your Imagination to Interact with the story & characters in such a way that CGI or visuals just can’t do.
Perfect writing, perfect acting & perfect execution.
Love Film Courage, great questions, great responses & the interviews are a trove of enlightening information. ❤️ 📖 🖊

Ion from the town that the mothman is know for, my uncle was instrumental in inventing the mothman story when a writer from Kansas stopped at a campground along route 62 asking for directions, my uncle and his buddy gave this whole story to the writer who went back to Kansas and wrote the mothman in a magazine article without ever having stepped a foot in point pleasant, WV. On a side note, my dad was sitting at the foot of the bridge in a car when it fell. The real mothman was fictional made up by a writer in kansas, it was just local folk lore that a bunch of high school kids on acid used as an excuse to go in the woods and do more drugs! That's the truth u can print!

Yikes, every Hollywood person ever interviewed and seen on UA-cam just fukcing talks like we're experiencing one of the most wonderful authentic moments of wonderful deep authentic moments about a dozen of the most wonderful people you can ever deeply care about caring in the most wonderful deep meaning of ways. imagine having to live in that world every day ughhhhhh

    • @jonathandewberry289
      @jonathandewberry289 3 роки тому

@@misssoso5859 It's beyond cringe-inducing. If you watch any interview like this, with any sort of Hollywood world people, they praise every single person into sainthood and genius levels.
If they mention any other person (say, they refer to a costar) they have to stop and add: "by the way, simply one of the most beautiful human beings anyone could dream of working with and a genius too".
If they mention a director by name, they must stop and add:
"and let me just say he wasn't just a joy to work with but I was so honored to be able to witness his genius behind the lens".
If they tell us about a writing partner they need to add "oh I can't tell you what a miracle of life they were and taught me so much in addition to just being one of the most beautiful human beings to grace this earth".
You almost dread them getting asked about anyone.
"Did you work with Tim Stevens on that movie?"
"Tim is not only one of the most brilliant creative minds I have ever had the glorious honor of meeting but seriously, he's a genius in his own right, our world would be poorer if not for the salvation and shining ingenious light he puts on paper".
The way these people talk, even in regular conversation, you can barely behold the circle of glorious geniuses who are also the most beautiful, empathetic, loving special souls to ever live on earth.
      Its gross.

Sharon Perera, if you can't learn from anyone, regardless of their race, maybe you should reconsider your industry and why you feel that way. I take advice from elderly black women, does that mean their advice is irrelevant because I am a white male? Absolutely not. it means I need to do some work to apply their lessons to my life - you can learn anything from anyone. Absolutely him being a white male helped his career but this is not a video on "how being a white dude got me money for a movie" - it is a video on how to approach everyone saying no to you when you need a yes to make your film.
