Mad man. I’m getting BC coils because, here in the states. BCs are budget coil overs. bilstein would be the “premium” brand. Greetings from America! I have a E86 as well! Heavy mods coming soon
I’m glad that you gave the stance plus a good rating as I had been wanting to upgrade my suspension with some expensive coil over now I have a good budget alternative. I am also going to fit a LSD once I decide on the brand of coil-overs so that I can properly use the power, I was considering sell my e86 Si for the e86 M but living in London my car is best suited for such commuting. Thanks Ben for sharing!
Just fitted these and I think my rear mounts were damaged cus the struts went through the mounts and damaged all of my interior boot trim, pretty sad, reasonably cheap and quick fix though. When you took the collars out did you leave the threaded part of take it all out entirely?
I have the z4 3.0si but the ride is very uncomfortable. I changed from run flats to regular tires but wonder what shocks will make it more comfortable vs performance. Also, it sits so low it scraps over 1/2 of the road bumps. Any thoughts on high to lift the car up a little higher and increase comfort?
I looked at these for my 3.0i roadster but chickened out going for the Bilstein eibach fast road B12 kit instead (695 quid), i'm also of the opinion mostly you get what you pay for. I would say if you can not afford it the stance seem ok especially if your existing shocks are tired, however what surprised me with the B12 set up was even though the lean on cornering had reduced markedly the ride quality was much better than the standard shocks. Handling & ride much improved without breaking the bank.
Hi Ben, my concern with adding anything ‘budget’ on a Z4 with that performance potential, especially with regards to suspension and brakes, is misjudged at best. I have a 2007 Coupe like yours and am on a budget too, but always use the best quality and ultimately safest (generally German) components I can get - dude, your’s and everyone else’s life depends on it! Great vids by the way but don’t confuse entertainment with safety!
I wouldn’t rate them. I sold the car and after 6 months, the rears failed. Stance plus wouldn’t honour the warranty for the new owner! Poor customer service and build quality
I've sold the car but the new owner has told me that the car failed an MOT due to the rear shocks leaking...Stance + wouldn't honour the warranty for the new keeper
I sold the car on. However, the rear shocks started leaking after 6 months. Stance plus wouldn’t replace under warranty so he ended up putting the stock suspension back on
@@be1441 ill check the forums for opinion of them to see if they make the ride firmer but at the moment the car doesnt cope too well when 'making progress'. i have a grey 3l coupe.
@@MikeSmith-rd9fi I've read on forum pages for S2000s, MX-5s, M3s (pretty much all cars that have an emphasis on great handling), that they've overall had great experiences with Ohlins DFV Road & Track coilovers. Yes they are on the pricey end, but they fit the bill of your requirements of absorbing bumps. Providing great handling and ride comfort. And they look beautiful like a brass instrument too. The factory tour video of Ohlins is fascinating to watch if you have time. Ohlins DFV R&T is definitely the case of 'you get what you paid for' product.
Don't bother buying any stance product, if you needed to replace any parts of the suspension, you cant even buy replacement bottom bushes for the rear shocks,
LOL. Bouncing g around like a pogo stick demonstrates the quality of the suspension. Trying to justify the low cost and the handling (comparing a 15+ yrs old OE setup vs a new Coilover will always be an unfair comparison), by talking down the loss of suppleness is hardly high praise, Ben. Once the novelty and the excitement wears off (I assume this is your first dip into coilovers), you will come to realise that this is a 150 pounds worth of engineering for 300. As you grow with experience and you dip into well engineered products North of 1.5K you will look back at this and quitletoy nod to yourself at how silly this endorsement is.
@@be1441 While any system may fail for a host of reasons, it's difficult to say it's surprising in this case. Longevity aside, the performance ilwas always the questionable aspect. That coupe is drop dead gorgeous. Looks even better now than when they first came out. 💕🏆

All the best 😁
Hi Ben,The cars looking great m8.I've been considering this mod for my roadster.Intersting video.Keep them coming m8.
Cheers mate 😁

Nice video, looking at getting some stance+ myself and there isn't too much videos out there about the brand.
Cracking cars for the money. Looking forward to see what else you have planned for the Coupe

Thanks for the review Ben 👍
A couple questions ben
Are you gonna get rid of the blue calipers?
And are you going to wrap the car?
Loving the videos lately! 📸
Blue calipers will go black and I cant decide if I should wrap it, or re spray the front 🤔
@@be1441 don’t bother repainting as on your way home from the paint shop it will pick up stone chip, wrapping is better in my experience.

Coilovers are a fad the B12 kit is all you need for street and occasional track days.
Good review mate, has helped my choose whether to go for them
There're decent for the money 👌
that dirty laugh from the cheeky copilot ha ha
Good review, well done 👍
Ben great vid, loved your basic "scientific" ride test 😂
Let your assistant hold the cup, in the interest of safety - of course..!!

Ben great video :)))
So when are you doing the Initial D style drift video with the water cup? 😂😂
😅😅😅
Pro-tip, you want the rear end higher. That way the car is always going downhill and you get better mileage...
Stance is a tier above BCRacing for me. But I think both companies are really good for what they offer
Hi looking at stance coils...how are they since you made your video please?
I sold the car but the new owner told me that they wouldn’t honour the warranty after the rear shocks failed. They were only about 6 months old
Any issues about mot and insurance?
Nope just declare them
If fitting coilovers, do I also need new drop links?
Yes you'll need shorter ones
Ben, do you still rate them 1 year on? How's the corrosion etc?
I wouldn’t rate them. I sold the car and after 6 months, the rears failed. Stance plus wouldn’t honour the warranty for the new owner! Poor customer service and build quality
Thanks for getting back to me Ben. That should be another video as a follow up....good info though.
Hi Ben! What’s the situation after 8 mounts?
I've sold the car but the new owner has told me that the car failed an MOT due to the rear shocks leaking...Stance + wouldn't honour the warranty for the new keeper
Hey how did these Stanced hold up?
I sold the car on. However, the rear shocks started leaking after 6 months. Stance plus wouldn’t replace under warranty so he ended up putting the stock suspension back on
link to coilovers doesnt work for me
Just fixed it for you pal
Wow 170,000 im terrified because my 2010 audi tts has hit 80,000 🙈🙈🙈
so is the car now more bumpy than before?
Can be very bumpy, but isn't too bad
@@be1441 i find standard can be. id like to try some BC's before investing. Any other ideas? I'd like to improve the ride without making it more harsh

Next refresh, drop in an S54...
I’m dropping a n54 in my coupe. Don’t know when. But will be coming to my channel one day 🤣

Agree with this. The suspension lasted 6 months. By that time I’d sold the car and stance Plus wouldn’t honour the warranty for the new owner
I saw the bouncing then was about to comment coffee cup 😂
Are you still happy with them ? If you still have the car.
I no longer have the car. But they failed after 6 months on the new owner. Stance plus didn’t want to know nor would honour the warranty
Good funny video.. I'm probably going to purchase theses for my z4
Word of warning. The rear shocks failed after 6 months. As I had sold the car by then, the company wouldn’t warrant the shocks for the new owner

I just changed my mind.. thank you for the update.. I'm probably going to get koni adjustable daming shocks on new OEM springs/ hardware..
