Percy Tau is a South African professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion and the South African national team.
He joined Brighton in 2018 but, due to work-permit complications, was loaned out to Belgian side Union SG with whom he won the Proximus League Player of the Season award. His form earned him a short-term move to Club Brugge, where he won a league winners' medal the following season, before being loaned out for a third consecutive season when he signed for rivals Anderlecht in 2020.

I told people that I wish Percy could stay in Belgium until he catches attention of a club that really sees value in him, he was shining in Belgium. It's sad to see him struggle so much for game time when he's such a great player.

I'm proud Percy is representing us as South Africans. I wish he can practice more so that he won't lose balls easily, position himself well and to be able to break easily in the defence because he only makes good assists when he is not marked. The defenders also seem to be afraid of him

The Premier League is different from what he is used to. English football in general is different. Faster, stronger, the punishement for a mistake is big and it's easier to make a mistake because the pressure is intense and constant. Percy needs time to adapt to it, like many players do. Look at Bissouma now. He didn't play every game at first, and he made mistakes in his first season. He had to learn and develop. Now he is one of the best midfielders in the PL and will probably play in the top 6 next season.
Even look at Theirry Henry when he came to England: " doubts were raised about his ability to adapt to the quick and physical English game when he failed to score in his first eight games. After several difficult months in England, Henry even conceded that he had to "be re-taught everything about the art of striking" ". He became one of the worlds greatest strikers.
Potter isn't a fool, he is just not going to rush with Percy, you can't just demand immediate results from a player in a new country and a new league. It wouldn't be good for the player, the team or the club.
I have watched so many players with far mistakes than he does, some even attempt on skills and miss on a counter attack chance..... Does he apply what you say above because those players still gets preference. Under performing for my liking.

I love percy.... he's a good player, however I feel like him not getting game time really messes with his improvement, his runs are somewhat amazing and can cause punishment to opponents but if he's not getting game time he won't grow... he should take on players without fear and these people open up coz he's able to make space to recieve the ball going forward only to find players that are open are at the back thus cause a lot of back passes

It comes with confidence bro, if you don’t enough game time like he is at the moment it is even more difficult because you do not want to come on and make a mistake that then turns a draw into defeat cos then that would have been your last chance! That’s just how the brain functions
West Ham's biggest mistake was to take their eyes of him for a few seconds and and give him a tiny bit of space to run with the ball and it cost them. However, in return Brighton had to secure that 3 points after that... Best of Luck to Percy & His Crew against Man City.

Look, let me give my honest evaluation. Brighton absolutely NEED to play Percy Tau more. There is no attacking player in their squad with his combination of speed and creativity. BUT Tau is currently out of sync with his teammates and low on confidence; opposition players can pick this up hence they box him in. You can tell when he is about to lose the ball, like he did a few times in this video. Additionally, Tau cannot shoot to save his life; this is common problem with South African footballers.
If I could advise Graham Potter, I would say this: Play Percy Tau MORE (you're killing his confidence dude, you literally gave him just one start when he returned from loan); especially in situations like this. When the game is tight and you need a spark from midfield to catch the opposition on the counter, there is no better player. COACH him on how to time his runs and receive the ball in dangerous areas. Teach his teammates about how to play with him (his strengths and weaknesses). Don't make him defend deep. Get him to run at the opposition defense as much as possible, the boy can beat his man. Don't underestimate his passing ability. He operates best in pockets on spaces and can play on either wing as well behind a clinical striker. Tau is a gem waiting to be unlocked, the in-house key to Brighton's problems in attack.

He should drift back and collect the ball, create spaces for himself and create goals. I dont expect him to be provided, his strength is to provide, create free kicks. Look at the ball he gave wellback.
The backward passes i dont like but its least of my concern if he can touch the ball more, create space to get the ball
