DJ Cham cheers mate. Back then Lincoln didn't offer much in good music. Then the University opened and I remember Roscoe (ran the nights his uncle owed the venue which was called..get this for an 80's club name...Lazers! Ha ha it had a reputation for a heavy rock piss head club) yeah Roscoe came into Peekays records were I worked and asked if I had any ideas for a dance night. At the time I was the only DJ in Lincolnshire playing hardtrance. Playing a residency at Arcadia at Kristies in Gainsborough. Simz was wanting to play trance but didn't know labels and have access to them until I started in Peekays and took over ordering from distributors like Arabesque, Intergroove and later Alphamagic. Anyway I used to go to Uprising, Dizstruxshon, Donny Warehouse and Pleasuredome at Skegness. I knew Mick Marshall (M Zone) not like best mates but enough to chat to and him giving me free copies of his tunes. I suggested Roscoe to ring Mick and gave him Donny Warehouse number knowing it was Micks coz he did all the booking. Week later on a Friday afternoon Mick and Roscoe walked in to shop and Mick recognised me and said yeah he knows tunes (my ego went boom!). We all went over to Lazers and the genuinely asked my opinion on what I thought would work. That's how Sugacubes and the T-Files night came about. Mick offered me a resident spot. My favourite set was when I did the 11 to 12.30 spot with Mark EG on after. He went mad to Point Break when I dropped it. Happy daze
