- Raising a family in Jamaica has many innate benefits. But doing so while running a business is no easy feat.
I had the opportunity to sit down with Kory South, CEO of Sunset Resort, located in Treasure Beach Jamaica in the Parish of St. Elizabeth. We spoke about a number of topics including running a hotel during a pandemic, raising his family in Jamaica, the Treasure Beach lifestyle and the recent upgrades to St. Elizabeth.
I hope you enjoy this sit-down with a fellow family business owner.

This is so refreshing. I continue to hope that more native JAMAICAS can come to appreciate the greatness and beauty of our Lovely Island as much as other persons do. God knows.... JAMAICA LAND WE LOVE🇯🇲👍
Totally agree!
I agree I have the same intentions
Throp is doing a good job of showing people who want to come live and have a life in Jamaica 🇯🇲 it's not all that bad. They should make him an ambassador for Jamaica
ahaha thank you man
Ohhhhhh wooooow this interview moves me. I am going back home I don’t care what people wants to say
Thank you!!!
Good interview, love to listen to people who make Jamaica their home, they certainly appreciates the benefits of living in Jamaica.
Thank you and the sink you for watching!
I waited for this upload and I was not disappointed. Thank you, you continue to inspire me. I tell you why I'm in the planning phase of moving to Jamaica and you are one of my inspirations. Seeing productive ppl like your family and this family motivates me. Keep doing what you do until the next....
Awesome! Thank you for the kind words! Thanks for the support and for watching!
@@Throp support well deserved you are doing a fab job.
@@cattb5271 thank you!
I agree with over achievers; my daughter went to high school in Jamaica and that foundation had evidently contributed to her ambition.
Awesome to hear!
I'm a Jamaican teacher in the US considering returning to Jamaica with my daughter for this very same reason. So glad to find this channel, maybe by divine providence.
so encouraging to hear that JA is not as bad as it’s been made out to be on the media. I look forward to visiting soon.
Awesome! Thanks for watching
Living a beautiful life , noticed with the manners in the UK, they don't use them much, I've always used mine , being in business it's always 'Good Morning' you have to almost prise it out of people these days. In Jamaica its warming to hear and gives you a lovely start to your day. Been to Treasure Beach for the day , was just amazing. Soon be back .
thanks for watching
I can’t believe I found you brother . Just in the right time . I’m thinking about moving to Jamaica. .. hopefully one day
Yes I agree it seem to be true, kids who grow up in jamaica and then move to the US seem to do well. Vs kids born in the US by jamaican parents.
I’ve seen this many times
Black immigrants period. They exel and education and work hard black Americans on the other hand don't do as well
That view though! Incredible.
Great video!
It’s a great view to wake up to. Thanks for watching!
Rather interesting place, living in Jamaica and have never been to that side of the island. Must.put it on my places to.visit list!
🇯🇲 Thanks for your enlightening contents.
The more you post is the more expansive my trivia on the humbling personas and impactful lives of our "adopted Jamaicans".
All of whom have long lived & contributed to the local economy while our "siblings" fled to yonder lands looking for greener "lettuce & bop-choy".
I feel so morning dew-like refreshed & pure after a viewing, devoid of hype, toxicity or victimhood that is so rife on social media.
Thank you for watching!
Everything in this interview is 100% Facts!
U are one of the LUCKY one.
Being married to a JAMAICAN is a plus for you.
AS know those Etiquettes are nonexistent in Jamaica.
Wishing U both all the BEST.
Thank you!
Thanks Throp, for another epic video. Have a great weekend everyone👍👍
Thank you so much! You too!
Thanks Throp thanks for tell us about this place will try. Mikey and I will still come home we will not forget our home with you and your family 💞

Another brilliant interview, Can't believe I haven't explored treasure beach, I'm always heading to Negril from Mandeville, but I definitely want to explore that side a bit more when I come home.
Thank you! Believe it or not Treasure Beach is more laid back than Negril. Beautiful place
Treasure Beach is wonderful. We were there for 11 days from Christmas to the early days of 2021. Check out SeeCurrents for our two posts-lots of pictures. I’m a Jamaican who hadn’t explored it before.

I realize I was looked at strangely when I say good morning to people in New York. I never get a reply from most people I say good morning to.

Yes mrs thorp
Thank you!
When I first came here and started going college, I would say good morning and the students would look at me funny 😂😂😂
Lolll it’s SO true. People appreciate it whether they want to admit it or not
I had the same culture shock when I lived in St. Croix, USVI. I got use to being greeted and quickly got into the routine... I miss that.
Good morning, y'all!! 🌞🌴
Lovers Leap is breath taking..
