Hey Jennifer I think it’s a good idea to see a cardiologist but also a Gi doc in case the issue isn’t anything cardiac. I also experience chest pains and palpitations my cardiologist didn’t find anything, I’ve worn the Holter monitor, had an echo and stress test. All normal… I am seeing a GI doc I had an endoscopy I have gastritis and gerd also I’m having a esophagram done to check how I swallow. My husband also get chest pains and thought he was having a heart attack all of his cardiologist testing came back normal… they said it can be stress… praying all is well 🙏🏽

A cardio work up is needed. Echocardiogram, non- medicated and medicated stress test, cardiac CT, even wore a holter monitor for 3 days etc. I had a full work up done. The ER told me I had anxiety. I got a second opinion from a woman’s cardiologist specialist and she said my issue was t cardiac that she suspected it was hormonal. I went to see a functional medicine Dr and had my hormone levels checked in depth (speciality lab testing). My progesterone was dipping pretty low. I ended up taking bio-identical progesterone (natural progesterone and not synthetic) and that coupled with the cardiologist suggestion of taking Calm magnesium powder help me. Ther perimenopause roller coaster of symptoms. But, Don’t let them blame it on your nerves or hydration. INSIST on a cardio referral. I always tell doctors that my kids need me so I need them to run tests and rule everything out. Keep going to another Dr until you get one who listens to you.

Pediatric Physician here. I absolutely agree with the NP recommendations. You need to see cardio asap to have a full work up and may also need to wear a holt monitor for several days to rule out arrhythmias.
