I hate waiting in lines, so visiting such places for a couple of burgers or a cerveza would be out of the question. I wonder if you could just eat at the hotel and if there are lines for doing so even there.

I love Cuba - hate Varadero! Commercialized, expensive, full of spoiled waiters believing that tipping is mandatory, regardless of how poor the service (or no service) they provide is.

Cuantos cubanos han ido para USA sin saber nada de inglés? Creas o no,conocer ese idioma, dominarlo, te puede abrir muchas puertas ,por ejemplo en una Agencia de Turismo . Mallorca sería un buen lugar por su turismo

My last trip to Cuba was quite wonderful, I certainly still ate well but yes, sometimes things are in shortage...but we were never hungry and the drinks flowed quite well. The resort was clean and the staff wonderful. I would go again in a heart beat. I've never travelled to all-inclusives as a foodie. Were there some shortages and not-so-great options off and on, yes - it did nothing to harm my holiday. It was still better than me eating my pop tart or scrambled eggs in my condo overlooking the blasted winter of Canada in February.

I got moved to varadero from cayo coco during hurricane Irma 😮 nice but I prefer cayo coco I have been there over 30 times stay a week in casa in morón then hotels in the cayos , people very friendly , food is bit bland and boring , due to embargo ( if they had a nice juicy steak they would cook you it ) long queues in the town for the locals at the shops , mostly empty but never run out of rum 😅
