Place that in a composting bin it will heat the air hot air Will rise and will draw in cold air from the floor what a wonderful way to heat a green house. ; )
I wouldn't recommend it since these things get really hot. PVC would most likely melt but I'm no expert that's for sure. I just did some research and combined a number of ideas and built mine off the top of my head.
I'm not really sure but one could argue the cans cool faster due to their thin walls whereas the downspouts are thicker and potentially hold heat longer. I didn't want the hassle of cutting out each can and glueing them together, it just seemed logical to use aluminum downspout to me.

You could be onto something there. My intention was to heat my little 16x12 workshop with this one. But a green house is on my to do list.
I see everyone uses tin cans or downspouts could you use black pvc pipe .
