- A short film of this incredible stealth machine, the BMW S1000 RR shot in my local playground Northumberland, and the amazing Kielder Forest at sunset.
Really enjoyed piecing this one together, from the initial storyboard to crafting the edit and colour grade in Premier Pro.
Huge thanks to my good friend and incredible rider for making this possible and hopefully more soon 🫡
All footage recorded in 5.1K on the DJI Mavic 3 Classic and 4K on the Sony A7IV. Frame rates at 25p & 50p.
ND filters from DJI and K&F

clean stuff mate. i have the classic and using it a lot more these days. when you shoot in d-log, some say it comes out in better detail slightly over exposed. i've never tried it as i simply go by just the histogram and what i see on screen as the zebras are too distracting. I dont worry too much about the middle but i try to aim to keep the histo graph off the top line on the right for highlights and in low light/twilight i try to keep the left side off the top line but inevitably it will clip a bit. sunsets are definitely the hardest to get right with both extremes and i have to prioritize one over the other i find...then simply add texture and contrast pop, fine and mid detail and a little sharpen in davinci to bring out the definition. would you say this is acceptable?
Thanks for the comment dude!
To be honest I generally (for both the drone and the camera) use both the histogram, the multimeter and a monitor where possible with zebras. I'd say I generally over expose by about +0.3 to +1.0 stops unless I'm going for a specific style like silhouettes or blowing out the sky.
Definitely best practice to keep the histogram from clipping so you're on the right path :)
@@darylswalker thanks for the reply mate. yea in low light i can end up with +0.7 to retain details. during the day either 0 or +0.3 but i'll test it out a little higher as long as the histogram isnt clipping. it's nice to experiment i think and see what comes out best.
And at the end of the day it’s all personal choice to the style of footage you’re using :)
Most of the time on these shoots I’m trying to get 6,000 different clips that I’m running around in a panic and might not have time to monitor correctly but I’ll always at least check the multimeter and the histogram :)
@@darylswalker yea i always get around double what i think i need in slightly different exposures each time so i know i have the right exposure for sure to work with. a pain checking through it all though. i remember you saying you worked with a few brands. do you ever get a bit nerves coming up to the time of the shoot with the larger global brands?
@@denaco yeah dude always grab a few Orion’s then you can choose your direction in post (if you don’t know what that is prior to shooting) … oh yes always get nervous! Even shooting this which was a passion project there’s still a lot on the line. I think nerves are good. Shows you’re out of your comfort zone and that’s where you thrive 🙏
Please what mirrors are they? Rizoma stealth or what?
That's the ones :)
is it the 21?
this should have been 10 mins
Not comfortable for back 😮
Haha but cool 😎
no music please
I’m sure there are plenty of videos with just S1000RR noises for you to watch 💪
Still like the new Yamaha R7 better
Serious? 😮
R7 just looks like a re-faired R6 from 10 years ago! :(
you need to try ride it, bmw has more quality check, bmw riding is so flawless
How a v2 is better than v4
@@novice_voyagerless likely to kill yourself if you an R7
