Forget Bose, JBL, Sonos..... Get this Edifier D12 the Ultimate Bluetooth Speaker

- Just like its predecessors , Edifier D12 is surprisingly good for its size and price.
Pros:
Looks retro elegant. Wood finish on the sides and black solid plastic on top, with volume knobs on the top.
Amazing sound. Highs mids and lows all crisp and without distortion for upto 70% volume. For its size, its unimaginable good sound.
Good Bluetooth connectivity, connects instantly.
Multiple connectivity options, BT, Aux, RCA.
Has a dedicated out, which supports another speaker as well as a powered woofer, i tested and it works.
Doesn't have a battery, I'm including this is pros, as I prefer this feature for large speakers. Battery takes space, weight and limit the life of the speaker.
Cons:
Bigger than most bluetooth speakers.
The remote is crazy, sometimes the volume goes down with the up button, sometimes it switches modes with the next track button. You have to be in a certain range for it to work.
Distortion above 70% volume.
Doesn't have an optical or cdmi arc, but then again its not meant to be used like a soundbar, but could have had an advantage.
Its "stereo" but the speakers are so close to each other, it hardly gives any sound stage.
Conclusion:
I have Bose, JBL, even Minirig (Made in UK speakers) and this speaker is at par with each and everyone of them. Its not a small portable speaker but it reproduces natural balanced sound. I've had this speaker for a few weeks now, I love it! For the price it is outstanding both in build quality and sound quality. If you just need a quality Bluetooth speaker then you really can't go wrong. But if your looking for better stereo separation for example movies or gaming then I would try the edifier R1850DB's. Awesome speakers for not much more money than the D12, plus they have more connection options. Both quality options, edifier make outstanding speakers.

D12 is $150 and R1850db is $230. So you mean $80 is not a big difference?
in India d12 is 7k inr and r1850 is 16k inr.
I have 1280 db and the sound is real good. Edifier is better than a lot of other brands!!!

I did a little basstest. 46 Hz is within reach (> 3 Db).
is the stereo effect still noticeable even though both speakers are close to each other?
No. There’s hardly any stereo, unless you are facing the speaker perfectly straight. Also if you have a smaller room go for the B3 soundbar
does it have a thumping base?
bro how's the bass ? is it enough to watch movies. i'm planning to buy this as a replacement for my bluetooth speaker.
I just ordered it on Amazon India after watching your review. I have one query, I want to use it primarily as a bluetooth speaker only, does it have default line in input or it will switch on with BT mode. It would be little inconvenient switching to BT mode on every use. Kindly confirm.
It switches on on the last input mode. So yes it’ll switch on Bluetooth, you don’t have to set it every-time. Also give it 100 hours before it sounds the best.

This or Harman Kardon Onyx 4?
For portability Harman, if you don’t need to carry it around , edifier.
