Hi, I have a 85 KDX 200, my gear shifter is stripped and trying to do a quick fix if possible and also try to find one inexpensive, would you know of any other types gear shifters that would work. Could I just jb weld the inside of shifter and put it back on. Plus would that be an easy fix when I do get the proper shifter. I found some on amazon but I'd have to bend the peg out a bit. Thanks in advance.
So question for you, when I took the transmission side out of the freezer I tried to apply the permitex but cause of the condensation it was watery from the steel unfreezing fast. How and when did you apply that goop to the transmission side? Also my first try by the time I had applied the permitex right out of the freezer it wasn’t cold enough when I tried to set on the other side of the crankcase..
Great video! I have a 1998 KDX 200. The transmission was low on fluid when it locked up . The transmission is is only shifting into 1st, Neutral, & 2nd . I bought the Tusk crank puller and case splitter. This is going to be a great guide. Any idea why it won’t shift past 2nd gear?
Hi, my 1998 cr125 started leaking gear oil out of the bottom end, since it is an older bike, I figured it was a gasket issue because I know that the previous owner had never changed them, but if it could be something different please let me know
Hi. Probably a gasket or seal like you said. Best thing to do is clean the motor the best you can, then run it and see if you can narrow it down. Could be case gasket, shift shaft seal ect... also look for hairline cracks in cases. Good luck with your project.

Hey, I usually wait a bit before I do the permatex. For that exact reason. I've done it to soon before and had the same kind of result.

But then does it still drop on like the video cause it seemed to get too warm and I couldn’t get the bearing to Slide Over the crankshaft.
@@danweatherby2908 it usually does, but some are more stubborn than others. I've had to start over before unfortunately.
One more question, it looks like you left the dowel pins out when you put the case halves together. Is that recommended?

question is the transmission not supposed to turn a full 360 ?
The transmission will turn a full 360, sometimes when it's apart on the bench its hard to get it to rotate fully by hand .

By any chance do you still have Suzuki lt230e I been trying to find parts for it like a arm tie rods and more but I cant find
Yeah, I still have mine. Did you try ebay at all. I've had pretty good luck most of the time.
