Great work! Glad you are covering this new product with such an in depth video. BTW - looks like you leash was extending past the back of your board. Hope it doesn't get tangled up with the motor!
I was interested in this product, thank you for reviewing it. I think everyone probably has the same questions, compared to the foil drive. It's different about how you store wires, but this one looks cleaner and better. But I'm wondering how it will work when you turn. And what if you put the motor in a lower place like the e-foil.
TAKEOFF Foil Assist Review by MantaFoils🏄 Unboxing & Testing! Today we are meeting MantaFoils founder Renaud Barbier who is showing us the new TAKEOFF Foil Assist by MantaFoils! What do you think guys of this new system?
The flat cable and the top clamp is a neat solution 🤙 Still not sold on the product, but several appealing features that show serious R&D efforts.. The board with the inset is atrocious….
You can see that on our tutorial videos on our page. You just press the button on the aluminum hub of the battery, and pull it backwards out of the main unit. Takes 3sec. Easy : )
Thanks for the video, For future videos don't put any background music, and hold the mic closer to the person your interviewing, specialally when their french accent is SUPER thick Love the videos keep it up
Wow this is exactly what we've been waiting for! @MantaFoils we have an adventure product business in Los Angeles for our international brand Hazard 4 with a demo storefront. Let us know if you could get us a unit to evaluate and maybe we can distribute/retail for you guys here in Southern California!. Always the best content Mike!
So the built in mast comes in two versions or you can just change the positions of the propeller from top to bottom? I guess if you are using this as an efoil you are up against the SiFly and Waydoo options and just depends if you can put up with all the various components of this or the weight of the dedicated efoils
On the integrated mast, you indeed choose at the order what is your favorite motor position: Assist position at 20cm from the top, or at the bottom of the mast. And yes... a Flow or Air with 2x batteries is in the range of only 18kg with our custom board, and still getting up to 1h30 of non-stop motor time (Flow, 75kg rider, ~1300cm2 wing). We've entered a new era, and are super stoked about it 🙌
People commonly use multiple batteries in one session when they use Foil Drive. This system offers a larger battery but am I correct in assuming you can’t change out the batteries?
That was a big internal debate haha. Classy vs. bright visible yellow... We ended up half way making it black with yellow and white marks on it (the TakeOff logo).
Heard from a shop in UK that MantaFoils been having quite a few recalls on this. Will be interested to read more into it as the product becomes more popular
Mike, I understand that making videos is not easy but, I´m sorry, bro: this looks like a commercial. "Super fun ride!", "Long battery life", "Explore like an efoil"... are useless marketing claims. Honestly, being yourself a long time FD user I would have expected a real review of the product and a comparison with FD in terms of weight, performance and riding. Your final thoughts -"competence is good for the industry"- is as obvious as is useless. At the end of the video, we know the same that we knew from the official Manta Foils videos. Nothing else.
@RM-tl7mr thank you for critics! Cheers 🍻it’s not a comparison video, it’s presentation of every detail so you can learn everything about Takeoff. It would not be fair comparing it to foil drive, a well established product. Takeoff has different mindset when making it with a focus on air travel and longer riding time but little bit heavier weight
@JetSurfingNation OK so it seems like it's time to do a comparison video already 😀 .. but there are so many options so it would take a while :) ... price looks like a big plus for this one... how are the power comparisons with different battery and prop combinations? (V1 and V2 foil drives) How does having that strip behind the mast compare with an integrated mast? How good are warranty claims going to be done? What forums for discussions? Stay on your toes FD 😀
@@lindz151074 Thanks for the comment : ) Regarding power, we've already commented on it in other places. We've managed +2-3kg thrust vs. competition at comparable prop, after having tried many different motors setups. The integrated mast is indeed made for less drag, but the alu channel is quite decent is stuff behind that it doesn't bother much. And if you want to tape your cable to the mast, the kit include a rubber cable guide that you can cut to your favorite length. Regarding warranty, the support team is already setup to help customers : )
@@MantaFoils I honestly see MF Air as a serious contender and a very appealing product, but right now buying one without any "real world" user feedback looks like an act of faith. I don´t feel like digging EUR 4.500 blindfolded, specially when there is so much info on FD nowadays and a strong community. That's why, when I saw Mike was talking about MF, I got my hopes up thinking I was looking at the first user test on UA-cam, and when I saw "Final thoughts", I said: "Here comes the good stuff: he´s going to tell us how it rides". If you guys are sure that your product is top notch you would made a giant step in your marketing by encouraging "infoilencers" to test it and give a thorough opinion, or organizing "demo days". My 2 cents.
@@MantaFoils I honestly think that MF Takeoff is a serious contender, but spending more than Eur 4.500 in a product like this, only with information provided by the company, seems like a pure act of faith. If you guys think your product is top notch, you should encourage real tests and reviews. This would be the best marketing for you.
Thanks Mike! Happy to see your enthusiasm. It was great to discover your home spot. 🤙
Thanks again!
Good review Mike! happy to hear all the in depth details. Ever detail matters and they really did think of everything!
@@wetdreamstravel1865 cheers
Thanks Mike snd Renaud. Very detailed. Great features. Love too see the integration of efoiling and foiling here in more ways than one.
My pleasure!

Thanks for watching! I normally never use the coiled leash like here. I prefer oceanus reeled leash

Yes a lot of work has been done
You showed how to lock the battery, but how do you unlock the whole air battery for replacing .

@@PeteWalmsleyTheSpaceStation in Flow version the battery is built in, so you cant change it but on Air version you can change of course like in FD

Nice!
how is the power vs a foildrive?
No issues with the remote?
I didn’t have any issues. Power depends a lot on your weight, wing you are using and the board size, so impossible to compare
+2-3kg thrust from the power vs. the competition
@@MantaFoils that is less than competition on 2 blade prop?
Heard from a shop in UK that MantaFoils been having quite a few recalls on this. Will be interested to read more into it as the product becomes more popular

Do you do giveaways?
No
