That ground up carrot had me dying. I thought they were going to use it as a base for something or mix something in it, nope just a carrot in a meat grinder lol
Right!
Sir, it is NOT ground up carrot, it is “carrot tar tar”
(Read in a sarcastic voice)
“carroto”
Had this course, ground up carrot was my least fav thing out of my whole night. Everything else was wonderful & yummy.
@@bernadetteellisha4396 Probaby tasted sour when you realise it's nearly a $30 course that makes you do the prep yourself, and is literally peasant food. A raw root vegetable and rye bread. Starving communist villagers would not be unfamiliar.
This is like driving thru the rich neighborhood just to look at the houses

Yeah but the portions are small af
@@jose-gr7jg believe me. They really add up.
@@FullMetalChains so does the bill
@@FullMetalChains thing is you can make that shit at home for an extremely cheap price...
They just making shiiit look fancy while tasting well and that's it..
i died at the “carrot tartare”
It's really shit
@@ImperatorBaldo yep. Apparently ground up carrots is "fancy."
@@ImperatorBaldo -- have you actually eaten it? it tastes amazing lol. i like veg... don't you?
@@feastmode7931 I eat veggies, since i care about my diet lifting weights . But i cannot deny how dull and stupid a carrot tartare looks, especially in such a fancy and expensive place. That's it
My 11 course tasting menu today:
1) Essence of waking up at 1pm on a weekday
2) Half of a bag de hot cheeto popcorn especial
3) The concept of hunger for lunch
4) Rest of bag de hot cheeto popcorn especial aged 1/2 day in hot automobile
5) Locally sourced buffalo chicken roller garnished with corn nuts a la 711
6) Fruit palette cleanser (fruit roll up and a slightly overripe banana)
7) Hunger Part Deux
8) Ramen and Spam: a meditation on Undergraduate Coursework and Luncheon Meats
9) A snickers de Roommate Nate did not finish.
10) A small dish of regretting the decisions that have led me to this point in my life (A Millennial Sonnet)
11) Sleep (for dinner because I'm still hungry but have not the means to eat more)
Absolutely genius, beautiful!
kevinsmellls greaat chef
kevinsmellls well I hope you get to experience luxury one day

I guess you are the owner of a 3 char Michelin Restaurant.
"Can I get this with hot sauce please"

They're not just plain carrots. Found a article from Plate Online describing the dish-
“In cooking the carrots, we found that they had a meaty texture and got the idea to use them instead of beef,” he says. “We cook the carrots sous vide with olive oil and thyme. They are essentially braised so that they’re tender; they can be ground, but in such a way to highlight the natural flavor of the carrots.”
Ground tableside in a hand-cranked meat grinder, Humm’s carrot tartare is a mixture of cooked carrots, carrot juice, white balsamic-pickled mustard seeds, Granny Smith apples and a carrot vinaigrette seasoned with caraway seeds and ginger. It’s served with freshly grated horseradish, chives and toasted sunflower seeds, a pickled quail yolk and sour rye crisps
yeah, you wanna pay mega bucks to watch some hack push a carrot through a meat grinder in front of your wide, ignorant eyes? you got more $$ than brains, bro... and that's ok. but maybe try Grey Canary in Memphis; real ingredients, real food, real respect in presentation
Thanks. I was baffled by that dish. Carrots are still carrots 😂
They dont need to salt the food because these comments are salty enough
I went to get a lunch in a saturday in February 3 years ago the confit duck is something indescribable insane. Yeah has already enough salt, for any taste imo is a little bit more salty than usually amount i handle.
...from people who can't afford the "experience" and aren't used to treating themselves ever once and a while, so what do they do... shit on the experience.
for $295 I am having food for entire month
@Erik Reisman if you eat just bread and water then yes :/
Good for you
And better than this shite too
Haha that's my budget for three months worth of food xD
Looks like something you'd go to just as a tasting experience. Like an art show of food with unusual but decadent flavors
exactly! that's why it's called a tasting menu
You know you're in a high end restaurant when your food needs tweezers to assemble lol
Carrot Tartar with Rye Toast...I can do it at home...for $1.
go for it
Do you have a sous vide machine? They're not just plain carrots.
Did for 1 dollar you could have 9of those
Honestly...for a fine dining experience of 11 course in NYC, where the cost of maintaining such an establishment is outrageous, $300 is pretty much an incredible bargain!
Finally, someone who gets it.
True!!
Exactly. 11 Mad is ranked as #1 globally, I'd pay double to eat there
TheCommieBoy Go eat some tendies and ketchup bitchboy
SH SH sorry to disappoint you but I prefer your mom
Sure the individual courses are small there but there are 11 of them and together they should fill up a normal human being. Also this is not about stuffing ur fat face but experiencing different smells, tastes and textures that are all extremely nice and delicious to have a great meal you will never forget. So while it is expensive if you can afford it, it seems totally worth it. Btw I wish I could afford it but kfc is good enough for me.
Why Are We Here? Haha well said!
Yea but a mcdouble tho
Why Are We Here? But I already experince new smells and tastes that are cheaper and have larger portions.
Alright fair enough but these are unique smells and tastes some people are willing to pay extra for. Also KFC is no longer my fav but rather Wagamama's as asian food is sooooo delicious; like if u agree.
@@katiebayliss9887 We get it. You are clearly not suited for this and will never experience this kind of food. No need to repeat. Everyone is suited for different things. Common sense
Carrot tartare? Raw fucking carrots and rye sounds a lot like student food mash ups reserved for making whatever you got in your fridge into a meal.
I won't lie, I'm pretty open minded with trying new things and I'm not one to complain about the "over priced small portions of food" but really...carrot tartare!?!?!? It was just raw carrot through a meat grinder...
Teni this is a typical restaurant that tries way too hard to be orriginal and fails at it
look up the video of Daniel Humm explaining this dish. First of all they are from one of the best farmers worldwide, they have been cured and sous vide-ed and all the other toppings around it are super good. Seriously, look it up. Of course, it is a bit ridiculous, but they are not just raw carrots
I'm highly skeptical that a sous vide carrot varies far from a carrot in a crock-pot in terms of both taste and texture. For this I believe you are paying for the experience. $295 is actually affordable for an 11-course tasting, especially at such a renowned restaurant.
3 Michelin stars. Failin hard bruh....
I am from Kenya and would love to try this one day
Dont save ur money and eat at Hooters.
@@hypernewlapse I was kidding. Best places are restaurants to get a taste of America are McDonalds and Wendy's.
@@Anonymousplayer-vw4kj best place is to eat at home and learn to cook at home
@@JacobRy I agree, but we are talking about restaurants.
@@hypernewlapse agrre
Looks fantastic. Except for the carrot tartare which is harkening back to the old days of EMP's silly theatrics. The desserts also seem woefully underwhelming.
I agree on the tartare, and I would only contest one of the desserts -- Milk and Honey looks witty and innovative, and I think it would be a simple but flavoursome dessert.
Well WOW WOW what a beautiful menu this would be with all those beautiful flavours pit together @ 11 Masterson Park and thank you so much for sharing the beautiful video @ Business Insider 👍👍😀😀🌹🌹❤️❤️
Pure Art.... Incredible plates.
Carrot Tartare with Rye Toast... And they're the best Restaurant in 2017 with three Michelin Stars. Okay.
Agreed
if you can do better, then do better, and be rich. but i doubt it.
Well if that’s ALL they serve then you’d be right.
Looks great!
I’m pinchin one out right now and this looks simply divine.
I, Like many here found the carrot course the odd one out. I can appreciate trying to create a sense of theater, I am just sure, 'the world's best carrot' delivered the expectation a customer would have.
superb, I lov it.
Wow so beautiful no wonder its no1 in the world now :) love it!
Masters of cuisine at work. The best in the world for a reason.
Looks amazing. I’m getting hungry
I wonder how to eat this?
with pita bread
First you ask waiter to hold on for a minute. Grab the food, shove it in your mouth, and glare at waiter's eye to establish dominance while chewing of course. Hand him the plate and whisper into his ear 'more'. Repeat and rinse this 11 times. If he give you the 12th dish that means you unlocked the secret menu.
With your pinky finger up...your nose.
With your mouth
With your mouth
I ate here back in 2012 when they had a bargain $125 lunch special. It was amazing, but this looks like a step up for sure.
Amazing
That Turbot plate is gorgeous. Definitely one I'd like to try someday.
Well, I’ve got some bad news for you; this place serves exclusively vegan dishes as of a couple years ago, so you won’t ever get to taste a dish like that from EMP specifically.
Dang. Why yall watching this if you think its ridiculous? There are some people who enjoy and appreciate the artistic aspects of the restaurant and believe the food would be better than anything tried before.
Nice foodart!
I love the background song
I only have one word for this...
Beautiful. Also, quite the bargain!
I started laughing so hard when they kept carrot tartar and I'm still laughing... respect the plating designs though.
I've been here two years ago. I think in the end it was around 300 a person with a few of my friends. It was the heaviest meal I've ever had, and by the time we were 2/3rd of the way through, I was done.
Did they still serve the rest of your meal? How long between courses?
Heaviest meal...like a carrot on rye break is heavy. You have never epxerienced a good ol' barbeque dinner?
What a brilliant chef serving chocolate for sweet
Better than serving chocolate for sour!
Someday I want to go to a super high end restaraunt and try out one of these multiple course meals
Go for it! I absolutely recommend it. Everybody should try it at least once.
Not me.i seen a lady eat a beetle..must b fkking nuts to do that.
For everyone else who's wondering like I was, the piano piece in the background is "At Speed" by contemporary British composer Patrick Hawes. :)
That was a five star meal...... let's go to McDonald's I'm still hungry.
so when i am done with these apetizers did the menü will be served ?
It's just missing one thing...THE FOOD!!! One whole meal is barely an appetizer
To be fair, it's a tasting.
Then go to mc donalds
it looked nice
And here I am, eating cup noodles
Youre not alone. There was a time I was watching Gordon Ramsey's documentary where his goal was to get another Michelin star and I was eating canned tuna during my lunch break.
I was like hummmm must be nice.
how do you eat the food?
whats the name of the background music?
Absolutely beautiful, as close to perfect is one would wish.
o dang a full bite per course
Can someone tell me the name of the piano track in this video. Please its beautiful and i want to listen to it on repeat without the cooking sounds 😂
All stunning, amazing, etc. except the ground up carrot. Cmon, it’s a raw carrot! Don’t be pretentious.
Do you have a sous vide machine? They're not just plain carrots.
How much for the clam bake dish, the chicken dish and the two desserts at the end? 4 dishes. Or how much per dish? $295÷11=approx $26 per dish!!
0:20 looks like someone drank too much fanta and spitted on it
*spat*
you've never seen coffee?
Jesus, thanks for ruining foam for me.
This looks like it would be an interesting experience, but I'd just worry that afterward I'd feel like I wasted $295, because I'd be thinking about all the other things I could have spent that money on, like 4 weeks of groceries. Or 15 books from Amazon.
Man I'm a minimalist...this is crazy...a starter and a good meal with a side is fancy for me....
What is the name of the music?
"Ta Mère Est Une Vache" by Ventouse d'Orteils
Is this the mini version or is it real size???
they are to eat or smell ?
How do you eat these?
I'm gonna start calling Gerber baby food "tartare." *Me:* "Oh, what's _your_ child eating? Mashed bananas? Only the best for _my_ children! I serve them Pea Tartare dahrling!"
YES
mashed food =/= tartare
Ah yes more of me watching food i can't afford
Sorry @ Business Insider I meant to say the 11 tasting course @ Madison Park thank you so much 👍👍😀😀🌹🌹❤️❤️
Thanks to The Sopranos, every time I see "Parker house rolls" I think of Paulie Gaultierre
How much does it cost, I wonder?
how do you eat that
ppl saying this is overpriced. yea it is, but so any dish you get at average restaurants, compare those prices to good quality stuff u can get at supermarkets its usually 1.5 or 2 times the price.
All this can be yours for $1.09. A thick PB and J sandwich and a quart of milk. The restaurant looks awesome but so does my feet up watching Andy Griffith and digging my dine in.
Where is the main course?
Yo, that thumbnail is from that dish that Bradley Coopers character did for the food critic in Burnt.
Here a piece of carrot.
That would be 500 dollars thank you.
A glass of water.
300 dollars please.
The whole 11 course meal is $300 but ok.
After having all these I'd be ready for the main course.
How are you supposed to eat the ground carrot?
Chicken looked nice
one day 😍
1:14 LMAAAAAAAAAAO you serve me this shit I'm throwing hands lmao fuckouutahere
"So were done with the apetizers now right?"
why all these michelin starred restaurants always serve an atom sized food bite on a plate thats as big as a football stadium?
Truly stunning and I would love to try it however for tha t price I feel each portion should be a little more substantial. So that once you're finished to feel like you've had a lovely light yet filling lunch
El Bulli 2003 avocado roll hahah
I ate Chinese takeout while watching this lmao
I've eaten there many times and if you're into and appreciate fine dining you will be blessed. If you are a buffet all you eat kind of person, then don't go there.
I wish to dine in eleven Madison park’s One day
300 usd for menu only comes wiyh a good bottle of wine or arrangement plus 150 usd to 200 usd..then if you have dont like carrots what do they replace it with?
Most of them, i dont even know how to start eating HAHAHA.
Btw, that second dish looked liked someone’s vomit 😂
unfortunately it doesn’t look like this on the table. but we all know it’s on point for a video
I saw all the food and imagined how betrayed the poor chap will feel after paying exorbitant amount of money for this "food" that wont even fill him up. Poor chap will get out and have some proper meal after this "good" to not remain hungry 😂😂
"carrot tartare with rye toast and condiments" - lmao go home chef youre drunk
Isn't this what they served at Dorsia?
How do u eat it tho? The sauce do we dip it or not??
Bring your own tapatio
you get more than just that when you actually go eat there

Fancy European dude from France: Buys milk and honey from this restaurant for $50
„Carrot Tartare“

If your in NYC don’t eat here go to Le Bernardin it is somewhat cheaper and has better dishes .
I love how Foie Gras is back in Style when California band The farming Goose liver because Peta told them too 😂 California's like you f*** you fine dining, New York make's Foie Gras popular again and is like f*** you California
