19 in my opinion is the most creative age. and the most impressionable. As an older man approaching 60 i can say i used to drive around with debbie gibson on in my car as a 20 something and still have never really heard anything like her. Generally the 80s seems to have been the best for music but then i guess we all look back to our youth. Im sure my kids will say the same about 00s but there really is something about 80-89 that was unique and everlasting. So many samples come from this era. just an opinion Peace
Listen to how raspy and sensual Debbie's voice is in that interview. The hair is very sensual as well. 19 years old. Yep, I had a crush on her. And I had a crush on Kathie Lee, too.....haha. Two adorable women.
Diane gibson debbies mum was a great manager the reason debbie had all her early success along with debbie diane would fight to the end to get her voice heard and debbie did best with diane as her manager fact
Debbie is really throwing some digs at Regis and the show. By this time in her career she was beginning to understand how cutthroat and dirty the whole industry could be. Debbie never held her tongue and I think her career suffered for it. I don’t think it’s a coincidence her music career hit a wall after her second album. js
.... or, writing music is really hard and the material she wrote in later years just weren't hits. Her mother was her manager, and in reality, that didn't help, either. Bottom line though: she stopped writing hits, and as a solo artist who wrote her own material, that was end of story.
Out Of The Blue was a great debut album. Electric Youth was her peak, perfect LP, not a bad song on it, several hit songs, tours, worldwide recognition Everyone waited for the third album, which was Anything Is Possible, and it was a massive disappointment Starts off great with Anothe Brick Falls. Then title track is bland. Reverse Psychology just doesn't work on any level, then it goes dis hill from there. No great killer songs, no hits, no vids to promote.
@@michaelwainscott2633 No, I would submit she wrote some great songs, such as "For Better or Worse" which is I think just as good as "Foolish Beat" which went to #1 and the former did zilch. But she was changing her style at this point and becoming more adult, and her young audience perhaps didn't keep following her.
I think If she had a different manager , had some writers come in to write with her ( she wrote all of her own songs ) but I think her writing became …. Just not good like her first two albums. Also … didn’t her third album come out around Mariah’s debut ? Mariah’s songs are on a whole other level and Mariah was recording , writing and producing at 19 I think and her first album was released at 20 I think ? Mariah had a lot of promotion which I think helped her so much. Debbie could have exploded like Britney and Christina if she changed a few things. Mariah is a whole other level from all of them tho
She's 51 now and still very sweet and beautiful, I absolutely love her positive attitude and upbeat personality.

Damn, she is so beautiful. Or was.
Still is. Have you seen her duet with Joey?
Se la ve bellísima, y algo extraño sin su característico sombrero.
I have quite a few of Deb’s appearances on tape from LIVE, but I’ve never seen this one.
She's aged very well!
