De la rue went cheap on this redesign of 2019 issue. You don't even want to see the bank note after being used severally. Just bad quality. Also, the design of the angled lines was too much. The designer could have done a much better job. I feel like the first draft was choosen instead of the fifth or sixth draft. But the the 500 note at least looks good and the green color is nice. Overall, there were so many opportunities to design a good and beautiful bank note, with many places and cultures to feature, but they fumbled on this one. I guess the person assigned to oversight and guide the designer wasn't a designer or generally a person who hadn't a good eye for good design.

Thanks for the update. I took a look at the 500 Shilling bank note and you are right. It looks much better than this one.
