- The Visions Off Road 2021 event at MidAmerica Outdoors featured a mega truck long jump world record attempt from Dennis Anderson's KING SLING! Weston Anderson landed the jump at 225 feet to set the new record and then proceeded to lay down a wild freestyle run!
A big shout out to the chassis builders......they are the only people keeping drivers like Dennis alive and let's them push the limits
When I was a kid and Evel Knievel would jump over a bunch of cars it was big news. Today double backflips on a motorcycle and 225’ jumps in a truck don’t even get a mention. I wish it was front page news rather than what usually makes the front page. 🏁

Evel Knievel was jumping on a bike that was a huge pile of shit that was never made to jump. Advancements in suspension and engineering make big jumps these days a breeze. Massive balls are the only common denominator
all we get over here is bloody rugby or netball or cricket.Even when kiwis win huge motorsport events it barely gets any coverage

I'm always thinking, the mechanic must be pist. They hit stuff at an angle and keep it full throttle. Dude, this isn't going to work out and repairs aren't cheap.

In addition to nailing the jump, it’s pretty clear Dennis has taught his kid about throttle rhythm and a ending a freestyle balls-to-the-wall.

When I was a kid Dennis would always wreck his trucks, were talking early 90's, and here we are 2021 and Dennis hasn't stopped being destructive. Old man has a death wish for sure hahaha.
Thats because feld paid for that truck and its also why bigfoot quit showing up to events dennis had an incident that involved a fan and sold "grave digger" to feld (or whatever it was back then) so they wouldnt lose it in court and after that dennis could go out and destroy it on a regular basis because they were paying to keep it running for its promotional value it was always a fan favorite but it went to new heights when the bill was on someone else dime

Cause Grave Digger didnt really start looking nicer, nor did it have what the other trucks did until around the mid 90s. Pretty sure when Monster Jam became a thing, then perhaps he sold it then. But the era im talking about, was before Monster Jam existed. No freestyle, just straight up racing with 2 rows of cars. Penda I remember was a huge sponsor for the TV stuff back then. Also Dennis had said in TV stuff, that he didnt have the stuff Bigfoot had, or that Fred Shaffer/Bear Foot had. So he was clearly funding his own truck through major part of the 90's. Dennis also rarely made a TV appearance until Monster Jam was a thing.

@@dethangel88 i was a fan during that era as well and the side shows were more fun then the racing most of the time with the local boys tuff truck races and the car eating dino i think the truck i loved back then was called monster patrol it had a big silver wing and police lights on it.

Honestly the most impressive thing about this jump was the landing to flat. We got sxs's and dirt bikes going 225 ft so the distance isnt crazy, but its a true testament to the trucks suspension and westons dedication not using a landing ramp.

That was a hard lick I hope he's alright after that ending. Looks like the brakes were locking up on the differential front and back. That could have contributed to the crash if the wheel was stopping it would cause it to flip when touching down.

Yeah looks like the crash was intentional honestly. Kinda wish they didn’t always have to do that at the end of a freestyle but I guess that runs in the family
@@TheADAMSLAYER1995 the left wheel broke off the truck and the axle dug into the ground. That's why Weston crashed the truck. The rotors were definitely glowing though.

That camera person got nailed with a huge rock when he laid into the the throttle for that last jump so we just have the one angle haha

Those were the brake rotors. They ride the brakes to allow for better traction and less wheelspin.
