Just wanna say a huge thanks ,I passed my test 19.06.2021 and gotta say watching your videos, tips and tricks were a huge help . Keep up the great work.
l did and passed my civil construction course in Australia, my trainers were impressed with my dedication, the dozer was what l was apprehensive about, this vid was part of my course, l love it.
I have been spending a lot of shillings on data to surf the internet for years. You have just showed me the real value of UA-cam! In my country, coming across a bulldozer, etc is a privilege, getting chance how to drive one is almost a miracle! I'm glad to have the chance to learn how to operate one here! Keep it up. I'd have to pay through the nose to have someone train me like you do!
hello, I am a beginner machinery driver, I am currently driving a 2021 komatsu pw 118 MR wheel excavator, I love komatsu, the interior and the modern equipment such as camera and electronic sensors, thank you very much, I know, now also drive a bulldozer :)
Hi Guys, Excellent video. All good. 1) Float function can be utilised for forward pushing when clearing scrub and trees. When you are on moderately hard ground pushing scrub, bush and trees, the float function can assist in creating a large rolling pile of sticks and logs without the weight of it digging into the ground. In short, float forward in thick / heavy bush where there is enough small pieces passing under the blade preventing digging in. 2) As for back-blading. That's fine. The most wear is on the cutting edge and bolts and they are very hard. It's not a problem. As a part of working a dozer, back-blading is probably less than 1% of the work. 3) When both tracks turn opposite to each other it's called "track counter rotation". As was stated in this video, it's best to not make a lot of acute manoeuvres. Sometimes you have to but a good operator will make slow gradual turns to prevent leaving bomb craters everywhere. Less wear and less work is good. 4) The greatest tip I can recommend to any new operator is to control the blade. Know where it is and adjust sparingly. If you are constantly creating trenches, corrugations and wash boards then you're adjusting too much and most likely trying to push too much material too quickly. Gradual in, gradual out. Whilst the greatest efficiency is with a full blade, don't try to get that full blade right at the start of a pass. Gradual in, gradual out. Watch the blade and don't jerk on the control. When you get experienced you realise how little you touch the blade control. This is a good presentation with the operator being humble, non-assuming and self deprecating. Good work. Valuable for the learner and the experienced operator. Thanks :-)
Man is doing a great job. Being a young operator since 2018 back dragging for finish gets rid of track marks. Every operation has its use. If you finish pushing forward, do better.
I learned on the d-37 and d39 and komatsu machines..... I run a bunch of old antiquated junk mail and nothing compares and nothing will make you a better operator than a better piece of equipment...👍
I used to run a Volvo L110 loader a lot, and loved it! Did a little bit of a track hoe too. I miss doing it. You did a great job in the video. Makes me want to get back into it, just don’t want to travel for work anymore.
Thank you because of your video I learned a lot and now i am now a heavy equipment operator. I use to operate the excavator I never thought that this is that hard to operate. and i love it aside of its easy job it has a good pay also. its my first time to do this kind of job, most of my previous job are inline in the food and beverage.
Great Video, Thanks for sharing. When I was in the SeaBee's we had an old D-5 with twin sticks to turn the dozer. SAFETY: The Bee's showed a dozer they had & they tipped it over on purpose to show us that the roll cage will protect you. If you know you're going over, ground all attachments & enjoy the ride. Cool Down: We used to have to let them idle for a couple of min.'s before we shut it down. My how times have changed.
Oh my, I grew up in an era of gasoline pony motors, cable control for the blade (up and down only) and cable control for rear accessories. No seat belt and the seat cushion was lifted to access the battery.
When I was a kid a friend started a dozer with a pocket knife. It ended up tracking off site across the road and stopping lodged in the corner of someone's front room.. Not funny but funny memories😊
I have a job interview coming up to be a bulldozer and I don't have any experience but after watching this I'm way more confident now cause I lied and said I did 😅
Love the channel, been watching since the beginning. I learned on D8s in the Navy Seabees these are great tips to start . I'd love to see a video on Scrapers . I trained on a CAT 621g , love those machines .
Never solely rely on the onboard computer. I know some machines computers have given false information (ie. Fuel level, Hydraulic Fluid, etc) ALWAYS VISUALLY INSPECT ALL FLUID LEVELS
thanks for the video I restored a john deere 440 and have been using it around the farm, the six wat blade is awesome. All of the tips you give on modern dozers hold true to the old stuff too. Im getting better at final grading, sometmes It feels that I dont have enough hands for the levers etc. Lots of fun though and Im always cognizant f the fact that I have no rops. Real careful on slopes
I’m glad to see you are safe, I just never cared about safety a lot lol😂 I do what’s easiest and most comfortable, you don’t take a job like this because it’s safe… I have sadly not had the chance to operate anything real heavy or big though
Nice advice that you can't watch and learn from this but I got some very nice advice that I can use once I am inside my machine, thanks for every bit of information you teach here
Blade is very similar to snow cat except snow cat has 12 way blade with blade wings and curl been in snow cats for 2 years now my favorite thing to operate
2 front steering handles U gate 6 speed trans 3 forward 3 reverse on the left Stubby lever for ripper Bent big lever for the blade left right=don up Down up= tilt
This guy is a teacher! U never wear a seatbelt! Nothing sinks like a bulldozer Cutting a road through a swamp if cut into saturated slop yo may have as little as 3 seconds before the dozer is never seen again and i KNEW an opperator who was never seen again
Wow I just learned something that surprised me I was clearing snow on the ROW with a 6way D6 and was told to just use float mode forward this guy saying to never ever do that I wonder why though it work out
question ... is there a blade setting or joystick movement that will automatically level the blade horizontally with the dozer body, sort of a default blade setting, that will give you the best material leveling without trying to eyeball or guess how level either your grading is or your material is being laid? thank you
2:40 you should also wear a seat belt due to the fact if health and safety comes by a commercial or industrial site your not gonna have fun. always use the safety devices in place in equipment
I am going to move from tractor and box blade to a Cat D3G XL. Road mx and some clearing paths through brush. Big question is what do you do to deal with pushed material? Do you require a bucket to clean up the pushed material?
Great video, thank you. Do you think as machines continuously modernize we will start seeing blade and ripper control being combined onto one joystick to minimalize the amount of joysticks in the cockpit? Or is there a user case scenario where this could be inefficient or dangerous, thanks
You are a very good teacher, i can speak english a little bit and i understand a lot of things you have though me. I have my diploma and I can maneuver heavy machinery but not work ,could you help me please🙏🏾?
My new to me backhoe has a 4-1 bucket which allows me to do dozer like operations - area I'm not familiar with, so thanks for this vid. I'll check out 201. Seat belts rock (unless youre an old guy who runs a combine haha..just kidding. Learn to fly an airplane and you'll love them like Linus loves his blanket).
Just wanna say a huge thanks ,I passed my test 19.06.2021 and gotta say watching your videos, tips and tricks were a huge help . Keep up the great work.
What test did you take? And what kind of questions was on it? How long did it take? How many questions was asked? How much did it cost to do the test?
It’s better if you gave us a brief of that test😎
l did and passed my civil construction course in Australia, my trainers were impressed with my dedication, the dozer was what l was apprehensive about, this vid was part of my course, l love it.
Could you help me
At "test"? 😂

You are a fantastic tutor, I like the way you keep it simple and not turn everything into rocket science. Great video!!
I work in a construction company on those machines and your videos help me alot. Thank you so much! Keep up the good work!

This is amazing information, thank you very much for sharing this!
Desperately want to learn the basics so that I can build my own farm pond. THIS IS SO VERY HELPFUL!!! Thank You
I am here for the same reason
Me too haha

Simple and straightforward, I feel like I can drive one
I used to run a Volvo L110 loader a lot, and loved it! Did a little bit of a track hoe too. I miss doing it. You did a great job in the video. Makes me want to get back into it, just don’t want to travel for work anymore.
I say a huge thanks to you, for giving me the best knowledge over Bulldozer.
Thank you because of your video I learned a lot and now i am now a heavy equipment operator. Wanting to rent a dozer for a month to clear some paths in our woods and reshape a field. This was very helpful. Thanks.
Wow! So different than the Dozer I learned on back in the 70's! Love it. Great video. Thanks.
ವಿಡಿಯೋ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ ಸರ್ ಅದ್ಬುತ ❤️ Very Thankyou So Much Sir 🎉😊
thank you very much its really thousands training for free . I appreciate your time.
Enjoyed the video! Great instructor - thorough, well organized, well presented. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for making this video I really appreciate it, look forward to watching all of your videos in the future.

Hi. I love these machines. Never operated them. But want to. It's like going to school watching the teacher show us how to operate it
Thank you so much I'm going to experience these machines on my new job at a landfill site.
That's a good teaching
Thank you! 😃
Just about to say that 😂
Finally! Thank you for making these!
That is my first time seeing a dozer like that I did heavy equipment in the Army but we had right and left pull levers
Yeah...that’s old school!
For how long?
I'm also a 12N
Oh my, I grew up in an era of gasoline pony motors, cable control for the blade (up and down only) and cable control for rear accessories. No seat belt and the seat cushion was lifted to access the battery.
thanks for this tutorial! now i can go mess with the dozer i saw with a key in it knowing what to do so i dont hurt anybody/lose control 🎉
When I was a kid a friend started a dozer with a pocket knife. It ended up tracking off site across the road and stopping lodged in the corner of someone's front room.. Not funny but funny memories😊
Great video, I'm brand new (just bought the new CAT D3) so I'm excited to implement some of your teachings :)
Is that a 299 D3? Skid steer?
Hi. It's very good beginners video for showing the machine controls and everything
I have a job interview coming up to be a bulldozer and I don't have any experience but after watching this I'm way more confident now cause I lied and said I did 😅
Lol, how did the interview go?
Come on tell us 😂😂
you are a good instructor , I am highly appreciated the simple way you teaching us for every step we are doing thank you again
Love the channel, been watching since the beginning. I learned on D8s in the Navy Seabees these are great tips to start . I'd love to see a video on Scrapers . I trained on a CAT 621g , love those machines .
Thanks for the comment....hopefully we can do some scraper stuff in the future.
Much respect for the Seabees 😎
I'm very happy for this study buildozer thanks you so much I'm keeping watching more than in everything

Thanks man, very helpful...
Nice video for beginner. Bow with respect.
Thanks
This is an awesome safety training video
Thank for your training Sir,I really appreciate you a lot.
Thank you instructor.I do have a question. What causes overheating of the bulldozer and what can be done to avoid overheating
New operator here! You saved my ass with this video
How did you get into this field? I drive forklifts and am looking to change fields.
Nice advice that you can't watch and learn from this but I got some very nice advice that I can use once I am inside my machine, thanks for every bit of information you teach here
Thanks for the comment!
am going to pass my interview thankfully

Watching this while pooping right now. 100% focus even though I don't and never will operate a dozer lol.
Beautiful job and nice training thank you for video
Thank you too!

Looking to learn how to efficiently operate an almost 50year old Hanomag k7 B that my friend bought sight unseen from auction in Norway
Great video , looking forward to the next one
Thanks for the comment!

On this model not. Blade leveling visualy.
2:40 you should also wear a seat belt due to the fact if health and safety comes by a commercial or industrial site your not gonna have fun. always use the safety devices in place in equipment
Mmm komatsu 61. Awesome machine.
It sure is!
I am going to move from tractor and box blade to a Cat D3G XL. Road mx and some clearing paths through brush. Big question is what do you do to deal with pushed material? Do you require a bucket to clean up the pushed material?
Awesome instructions
you did perfect profesionally
The greatest explanation ever ❤️
By looking at this video I can operate a bulldozer now
The most surprising thing about this video was the incredible sound dampening of the cab. I thought it failed to start when he turned the key lol.
On the old school dozer, when do you use the governor? And does the governor need to be released b4 going or moving forward?
These are great, thank you!
I'm sorry to forget for saying Hello. And I'd like to thank you for making these beautiful and wonderful videos.
You’re welcome...thanks for the comment!
Thanks for ur education always
Great video, thank you. Do you think as machines continuously modernize we will start seeing blade and ripper control being combined onto one joystick to minimalize the amount of joysticks in the cockpit? Or is there a user case scenario where this could be inefficient or dangerous, thanks
That's good teaching❤
Vry nice fantastic tutur God bless you
thank you for the info! Great informative video
Thank you so much for your videos. They are very helpful.
You’re welcome...thanks for the comment!
Thanks my friend, nice video👍👍
Thanks for the comment!
@@HeavyMetalLearning ,👍
The thing about old school machines is that they are way more solid and bullet proof vs the modern techy equipment plus way easier to work on.
Very informative
I say thanks so much for the video
You are a very good teacher, i can speak english a little bit and i understand a lot of things you have though me. I have my diploma and I can maneuver heavy machinery but not work ,could you help me please🙏🏾?
Love your videos bro, as always safety first
Great material!
Do you have any tips for grading in compacted soil? Grading hard clay? Use rippers and loosen it first?
Very helpful thank you
Very good video!! 👍🏼👍🏼
My new to me backhoe has a 4-1 bucket which allows me to do dozer like operations - area I'm not familiar with, so thanks for this vid. I'll check out 201. I'm from East Africa Tanzania ihave nothing to say More life teacher master
I would really love to see you operate a crane
Yes, we would love to do some crane videos. Maybe some day....
