Tag duels were a good idea when yugioh wasnt this crazy complex, they also lost the chance to do it online tsg duels in duel links, and its a terrible idea putting this mode in md, tag duels would be fun in another mode like edison format or lower, not modern yugioh

@hatefulgaming1800 mtg arena is way more affordable for newer players. I spent 100 dollars on each and I was able to build a really good deck with the cards I obtained. In mtg you can realistically build a budget deck and do really well. Yes mtg crafting system isn't as good as MD but the daily rewards plus the bundles are more worth while than MD

@@willwithanxbox I played Mtg Arena as well, let me correct you about Mtg Arena, the arena is way more affordable IF you are willing to be a Hardcore player, the only way to get gems fast is by playing draft with a win 3 times each game to get enough coin to buy the draft game again continuously, and boy oh boy, draft is hard as hell

I think its a big mistake to "split" the playerbase in the highest ranks and honestly don't see a reason why they didn't add this function to normal ranked mode. Why dont they automatically change the players rank in master 1 to "master rated XY points" and if you drop below 0 you will get demoted to master 2 again (like league of legends does it for example with their master/grandmaster/challenger rating)...?
I really can't see the benefit of yet another different queue for something that could have been implementer in the existing system so easily...
You know that "casual" and "competitive" player doesn't like each other right?
If that happen, of course they will whining regardless if it's for good or bad reason, i can see your perspective but i think at least they go to good direction

@@RidzkyKidBlockthe "ranked" mode *should* be for competitive play though. That's how most other games do it, with an ELO system that makes matchups fair regardless of your current skill level. Honestly, casual mode should have elo too just so that players get matched up with people of similar skill instead of always dia and plat players testing out their new meta decks.

@@RidzkyKidBlock It's not! People just do the same thing they do in ranked, do dailies then leave cause they don't want to deal with the higher end tiers of ranked. You can balance the casual mode to give less battle pass xp or none and be good, especially since there's no other gems to earn in a unranked game mode for milestone achievements.

Eh, if it isn't tag duels to play with my friends, a custom soundtrack feature like the other comments have indicated or custom banlists in game rooms then I don't care. Life is more than simply proudly yelling "Look how good I am! notice me in this game!" when in reality nobody cares about your reputation in Master Duel.
Having the Rating Duels start at 1500 is better than 0. At 0 you just lose and lose to your friends you want to pump and you lose nothing. At 1500 you lose, and immediately go down in rankings.
Chess shows that it works. It's exactly like that for official Elo

Casual player have monthly event, duel tryout, casual match, team battle even duel room for them to play casual. Having something for competitive player i think is worth it.

I HOPE we don't see any Duelist Cup anymore after this feature. They better create an outside event like Challenger Cup in EU, for each region. Only 256 (or any number) best players in the region can join and fight for the World ticket. Also, for community tournament, they can set the minimum point/ELO to join their tournament. Sorry to say, but this funny when seeing tournament but still see a lot of a funny mistake.
Why the fuck would they take duelist cup away? That would shorten the player base immensely cos most of the comments here are against this mate 🤣 it's just another rank above master when you think about it but they've dressed it up all nice n pretty and you've fell for it 🤣

There no such feature in Duel Links yet,even there are i think players will not care if there no rewards.
Players satisfied after reaching KOG and get all the cummulative rewards(120 wins).

If they implement that, it would likely cost a fee to enter, if it didn't you could just play all day without having to commit anything to the game. Or that could be unlocked at lvl 30, showing that the player already dedicated a lot of time to the game

Draft mode, Tag duels and times Events is what keeps/would keep this game fresh.
I misread this, I thought after each duel it would rate each players (skill) by number of misplays and correct plays and give them a score of 1 to 10 that can add up by is always divided by there total games. What they are doing is good too and is needed.

Tag duels would require all 4 players to have a staple connection, getting 2 people to do that is hard enough

For those hoping this Rating Duels will replace the Duelist Cup grind mode, well, that's not going to happen.
The grind mode of the Duelist Cup is deliberately in that way TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF PARTICIPANTS as much as possible = increasing the potential of players purchasing gems to get top meta cards that helps them to reach a higher score.
If Konami excludes so many players from the opportunity to reach tournaments like the World Championship the player base could lose interest in the game for not being part of the opportunity.
Competitive players, if you guys are so competitive as you claim, the grind mode of the Duelist Cup IS THE ULTIMATE TEST. Only hardcove players willing to bet their health (it is a stupid thing, though) can reach the highest of points. If you whine about this mode it means that you want easy tests for the biggest of prices.
Agree with half of the last part, if you wanna boost your will to lose your sanity then play this mode.

I don't like the Duelist Cup grind mode. It is unhealthy for those willing to bet their welfare for a videogame. But the players tend to be more stupid than the mode and Konami can't control our behaviors. Everyone must take care of themselves, but still...
If you really want to prove yourself in the hardest of tests, the grind mode of the Duelist Cup/World Championship Qualifiers is the right place for it. A lot is at stake and many good players are there trying the same retarded stuff for the offered price. To an extent, that's the very nature of being competitive...

well we all know yugioh players hate playing the game so ofc they unsatisfied to having more content. Especially since a lot of players just play stall to get high m1 then quit the game for the rest of the month, imagine the horror in their eyes when theres a mode that "rewards" you for playing the game longer. (even though its a completely optional game mode and you miss nothing from not playing it, honestly why would anyone be mad at this)

My rating is always 0 as never go beyond master 1, i don have super high commitment to go ratting duel due to have real jobs and commitment need fullfill which is top priority over yugioh game. Only play casual only 30 min to 1 1/2 h only. Month event and some duel tryout is more then casual player can get for casual play even have. Casual player also casual match to play with. Rating duel just let serious yugioh player and competitive player to compete each order, and this mode is design for them not for casual player, which more enjoy if play event like duel tryout or monthly event except duelist cup.

Some comments are really unnecessarily negative. This is a cool feature and seeing some of the best players try to grind it out makes for great content as seen in the duelist cups.

@@DragoRaRaRa back in 2014. Yeah. But the current modern game is really not optimized for draft, even the community made draft cubes are mostly in Edison or goat and the modern ones have heavy restrictions or lack majority of the cards
@gyro121 well then that's why I wanted a WHILE DIFFERENT MODE HUH? Like if you think this game has over 10,000 cards and can't make a more modern draft mode than you completely lack imagination. Obviously it wouldn't be as fast and combo heavy as advanced play but that's the entire point of draft. To make the best with what you got.
This is the one thing I don't like about multiplayer pvp only games, meaningful/big updates like this take FOREVERRRRR because all the developing time/effort is used on patching, fixes and small updates.
