1:36 shout out AXN News, he was the first on scene check out his live stream on his channel from start to finish the fire burns out of control for a few hours on his stream. Dope footage.
25:38 the reason the concrete was damaged like that is because the rebar inside the concrete got too hot and expanded causing the spalling. Usually happens when the rebar gets rusty from being exposed to the elements but in this case the cause was extreme heat from the fire.
@@TheAgentAssassin although steel does melt, I never said it melted. I said it expanded which caused spalling in the concrete. Believe or not steel (or metal as you called it) expands when heated and contracts when cooled. Steel rebar incased in concrete under extreme heat will expand and cause the concrete to crack and disintegrate (proper term is Spalling) Also, the heat produced from this fire would have been 3 times the amount your grill produces and would have been temps well over the 1000 degrees Celsius (1800 degrees Fahrenheit) and this fire also burned out of control for 3-4 hours and continued to smoulder for hours after that.
I think that there might be a firebug around, because two days before the pallet fire, there was another fire in the same area, right around the big pallet fire. I think it might have been a little pallet fire... then the big one, now this brush one... So, either there is an arsonist, or something strange is happening.
Wilcer was around that area filming the aftermath of the bridge fire. You ever run into him when you’re out and about? Both of you are all over LA at any given moment.
I believe all our most of the water in California has to be pumped in because it’s normally too dry to have its own water and that might be why they don’t use water on their grass fires
Nice ride Brody. Regular city bikes and the like shouldn't need head gear every case is different though never ride above your comfort and skill levels yall
A fire that intense that fast was done by a professional, not some old guys just trying to stay warm, probably an insurance scam by the property owners trying to get out of moving expensive hazardous material, but who know's really, ask yourself the sheer number of people financially who stood to benefit or still stand to benefit from retrofitting an expensive structure like this,
I ALWAYS wear a helmet on ANY bike. Ive been riding MTB, BMX and road all my adult life and have never been without a helmet. No matter how experienced you are, there will be unexpected situations. Your brain is seriously valuable.
knew I could count on some Hicks news coverage 💯💪🙏 God bless fam. Also I think they don't use water for the fire on the hill bc it would turn into mud and erode away. Just a guess
Bro you should have a helmet on if you go faster than 10mph in my opinion cuz people can't drive in California all it take is a car to stop in front of to smash your face on the hood my brother had part of his nose removed because of that i always tell people to use a full face helmet like you would on a motorcycle please be safe out there ❤
That's totally strange. Why would they have 100s of pallets under a bridge to begin with. Don't matter if you have a business by there that's a highway. Total bull crap. The gov and liberal mayor needs to go and fix cali
That many fires on the same stretch of road ESPECIALLY in multiple areas of LOS ANGELES. With the way the city handles politics and crime prevention. And the homeless. And road maintenance. And with most of the rest of the downtown literally bombed out and run down and ready for the next step of gentrification. ...And you think they aren't targeted or related. Maybe you should just always wear a helmet.
You have a journalist spirit somewhere inside of you lol covering LA’s local news on BMX
Hicks is doubling as an independent journalist. Respect bro!
Ha, great vid - I saw those fires and thought "that looks like a fire John would check out" - BOOM - video drops!!
Stay safe out there John. Incredible content, by the way.
John Hicks navigating the gritty streets of L.A. once again. Great job

That's odd my BBQ grill is made of metal and it doesn't melt when I make hamburgers.
I see lots of fires these days with molten metal.

Storing pallets under an overpasses so when it ignites it becomes a huge pizza oven.Makes no sense
I seen on the news and came straight to this channel for better coverage then the news 🤣

Those skills give me anxiety riding like that 😂😂looks fun though
Probably going to be a month before that road opens!

Another excellent video John. You make LA soooooo cool!! I gotta visit the City. Long way from Ashington, near Newcastle in England. 👍🏻

Blessing go out to the fire 🔥 fighters.
I was waiting for this one! 🤙
Saturday and Sunday was crazy there was a hip hop event just down the street from Alameda Street 😮
Wow, what are you riding? A Dyno from the 90s? Cool bike
Wilcer was around that area filming the aftermath of the bridge fire. You ever run into him when you’re out and about? Both of you are all over LA at any given moment.
I heard it was a pallet fire stacks of pallets are accident waiting to happen - most zoning wouldn't allow
It was a homeless encampment - if you live in LA you know the area. Do NOT think this is any accident.
iT wAs ArSoN!!
For sure bum fire
Watched the big pallet fire live the other night 😮 freaky az f
I believe all our most of the water in California has to be pumped in because it’s normally too dry to have its own water and that might be why they don’t use water on their grass fires

Did you take this video on Sunday. If so the. I saw the brush fire on top of Mt. Lowe
Great video! Awesome content. Well done.👍🏼😎
400th 👍 inspiring quality content creation, JH.
I was more worried about those pallet stacks tipping over and killing somebody. I'd never thought they'd catch fire and shut down the 10.
Damn, gonna have to tear out part of the freeway. Traffic gonna suck for a while.
Thank you ! Best wishes from Phoenix
giving me anxiety going through the crowds lolol
one of my favorite songs is, Los Angeles is Burning - Bad Religion.

Big military hanger burns a few days ago too, seems like we have an arsine problem but don’t expect any government help.💪🎓
Yo, where that brushfire on the side of the freeway was that in my neighborhood?
Nice ride Brody. Regular city bikes and the like shouldn't need head gear every case is different though never ride above your comfort and skill levels yall
I saw that freeway fire on the news here in Florida.
Dope video bro
Awesome buddy
Keep videos going
Very interesting ride crowds are fun I wouldn't dare
A lot of weird stuff going down in LA now!
A fire that intense that fast was done by a professional, not some old guys just trying to stay warm, probably an insurance scam by the property owners trying to get out of
moving expensive hazardous material, but who know's really, ask yourself the sheer number of people financially who stood to benefit or still stand to benefit from retrofitting
an expensive structure like this,
LA reminds me of the 1st Mad Max movie.
What backpack is that? Them shoulder straps look sick
Found it nvm
I’m 49. I always wear a helmet 😂
i saw something on kcal about some dude that got arrested for starting fires so maybe it could o been him that set these fires off too
Safe the pigeons please!
Hope they don't catch you starting them fires,,,,,😅
I heard it melted the bridges steel construction

I ALWAYS wear a helmet on ANY bike. Ive been riding MTB, BMX and road all my adult life and have never been without a helmet. No matter how experienced you are, there will be unexpected situations. Your brain is seriously valuable.
Got the governor all involved shit is crazy
some really grungy streets
You should be going against traffic when you can. Can't believe you ride wherever. Riding in between cars is reckless asf too. 😂
knew I could count on some Hicks news coverage 💯💪🙏 God bless fam. Also I think they don't use water for the fire on the hill bc it would turn into mud and erode away. Just a guess
Control burn
imagine hicks is a firestarter just to record a video XDDD
John change it up go to San Francisco for Apex conference
That's the usual cause of fires in Kona. Homeless camps.
Life on rubber tires-i've lived my life John
The I-10 was arson they know that was arson now
Bro you should have a helmet on if you go faster than 10mph in my opinion cuz people can't drive in California all it take is a car to stop in front of to smash your face on the hood my brother had part of his nose removed because of that i always tell people to use a full face helmet like you would on a motorcycle please be safe out there ❤
That looks like a video game. But which one?
traffic radio was much more useful in the 90's
But they could use sea water, but I don’t know how that would affect the vegetation
We need pallets in MI
I thought they cleaned LA 😂
That's totally strange. Why would they have 100s of pallets under a bridge to begin with. Don't matter if you have a business by there that's a highway. Total bull crap. The gov and liberal mayor needs to go and fix cali
i heard they were gonna sue that company
This ain't the first pallet fire i thin the 90's too
Big John i hate to say it but you should wear a helmet just because of all the crazy drivers out there!! Peace ✌ out my friend
A holess camp was cooking shit happened. But having wood stacked to the freeway is too not smart.
Hey John I am Christian one of these days I need to meet you
It's going to be more then a month There was explosions and stuff
Store wooden pallets under a freeway with homeless there very smart
wow
Crazy to me those firefighters weren't wearing masks.

Freaking mess everywhere
i say, you should always wear a helmet, in case you get splatted by a car
if you wear a motorcycle helmet, cars will look twice
Smoke is bad for your health 🤢
