I wish Hollywood could somehow manage to produce films like this again. Seems nowadays if it doesn't have blood or guts or crash scenes, constant gun play, profanity and nudity then it's not considered worthy of being put on the screen.
Fun movie. Always amazes me how they packed so much into just over an hour- so unlike todays bloated efforts.

Excellent movie, I didn't see the part with the control panel for the fog. Can someone point it out to me? (minute/second).It's nice to know there are so many people that enjoy these old movies including me.

Oh boy, I love this movie! It's a goodie, and I was hooked from beginning to end! That is one hell of a contraption that he's conjured up, with the water tight room!
Great movie but they should change the name to dark house since you don't see much of the fog.

At first I thought this was a Hitchcock film. I tend not to read reviews and absolutely loved this film, I always adore the plot where a number of people are isolated in a remote house. Thank you for posting.

Oh wow! I love classic black & white movies, that have hidden rooms, and stuff like that! Just fascinating, and it really gets my curiosity up and going!
They're so elegant, yet so crooked and nefarious. They seem to be at home recurving cryptic gifts along with their tisane cups. No really I loved this movie,the1940's references to "Karma" which never was explained ,however as it turned out........

house on haunted hill being my favorite film of this type i like this one. ten little indians,the Bat, and also the universal films monster, sherlock holmes type films have great mood.

Man oh man, you really have got to see this movie, the one from the 1950's is great!! Do NOT get the remakes version! Please try to see it this weekend if possible. I promise you, that you will not be disappointed, it's a winner!!

All they had to do was find where they got the box and hold the plunger down 😲but they panicked and drown 😱great oldie👍
What is cool about this, they show us the control panel for the Fog Island spookiness.
I greatly enjoy these older b&w movies. Little to no special effects all done with lighting, music and REAL acting. Not like todays trash, good and great actors are very few now days.
A better ending would have been if it was set up where the place went up in flames as they left.

George Zucco was a typical Lancashire lad. He was often seen ambling along Sunset Blvd in his flat-cap and clogs. Could act a bit too.

I love how everyone has dressed for dinner. That's the way people should dress, it's so pleasing to the eyes, and makes dinner more easily digested.

I've seen Lionel Atwil in several movies, and he's always played the bad guy. I guess he has a menacing look about him.

Just tap on both of the pop-up ad signs. First the big one several times, then it will disappear and when it does, then tap once or twice on the smaller pop-up ad and it will disappear and the commercial will be gone. Just try doing that.
