When you fully upgrade your knife to get it infinite, make sure you buy a couple of resources(s) so you can craft pistol ammo on your next run

@babybipazod8969 not in his run, in the previous save where he upgrades the knife, beats Saddler again and his new game plus will have the knife (and resources if you buy them)

They carry to all playthroughs. Even new game.
Why would I do a good thing? I have my own auto-aim built into my hands.
Using a turret on enemies? I’d think it would void your minimalist run, no?
4 playthroughs and the wrench is always at 2 for me
Does the Primal Knife knife count as a bonus weapon? Cause if it does, you can’t get S+ even if you beat the game in under 4 hours, which lets face it, is a difficult task right from the get-go. Also his first mistake is using the Blacktail, cause it’s a piece of shit.
Are magnums allowed?
Can i use the ada's launcher? Or turret?

@@tommydele0112 Of course, you can do whatever you want but you need to use only pistols and knife. Magnums (Handcannon-Broken Butterfly-Killer7) don’t count, so don’t use them.
@@Mixaliiss unfortunately in the first run i didn’t buy any guns. i’m trying to do no heal no merchant and only gun. But i don’t have unlimited knife

Yes Just use pistols
Yes just make sure to put everything weapon wise in the storage and you should be fine for knife and pistol only trophy.

I had a hard enough time on new game plus on standard difficulty, not sure how people play on hardcore or professional..
I think you just need enough pitas for the rpg to fight the hard bosses. And maybe stick with the shotgun and buy the rifle when you go to the merchant and upgrade it
its like habit, im like playing RE at max difficulty since re 4 original, now playing remake hardcore just like everyday walk lol, but im still trying proffesional
@@dandyshark6094 I watched PS5trophies on his live stream yesterday, he played on professional mode all the way with the infinite rocket launcher, and did not use one herb or healing aid, he struggled through the whole game, he was limping and his health was in the red, all the way to the end, but he did it
@@Johnny_Ohio haha, im trying the hand cannon achievment, where u have to new game with no bonus weapon on proffesional, idk if i can do it but will try later after getting other achievment first
but hey just play what make u happy, if it too hard u can learn step by step

I tried the minimalist with a magnum the first time and didn’t realize the progress needed to stay at 0. I’m a huge RE fan and can’t believe I made the mistake of thinking it was a handgun. Nice run though. Loving this remake.

I just finished this in 3.34 hours. S rank. At first I tried to do no heals as well as the others, but I gave up half way through. So now I'm gonna do a rocket run
Can i use another pistol instead of matilda? I just screwed up bro i can’t use the matilda i have to touch rpg and get the matilda in the save room in chapter 1 or can i touch the weapons without using??
@@franktt9 Honestly, I messed up too and I didn't even have a pistol in my storage. I ended up rushing through the game with what I had (infinite launcher). Then at the end, I made sure to have a pistol in my inventory. It really helps to keep a back up save at the very end of the game 😅

I feel this Minimalist is not so easier than other two. So Frugalist and Silent stranger can be completed first and followed by this. Reason is if we lost health we can recover and can have chat with merchant to buy/sell or tune up lot.
I'm trying to do it but my progress is 1, does that mean I failed somewhere or how many times I've finished the story? Help would be much appreciated

Will try this gun with the basic gun fully upgraded and basic knife, no healing, no merchant and under 8 hours. Gonna be tough once facing bosses
Got wrench number 4 first go but not healing my pistol run don’t even think I got any heals plus 30 pistol bullets leavin that room am screwed
Hey I just finished this last night! The no merchant, HG/knife only, but I also added the no healing to the run. Knock out 3 birds with one stone. Saddler was insanely difficult because by the time I got to the end I could only get hit twice before dying. What a nightmare

@@Pro1938ftc3ch no, no unlocks unfortunately... just the 3 achievements. I think they were all worth 1,500 CP’s tho... I died to Salazar 67 times! That boss is a nightmare when you can only survive one hit and then limp around til the end of the fight and I almost blew it on Krauser because grenades were on the hot bar and I accidentally switch to them and threw one, twice! I immediately reloaded the checkpoint before they exploded, I was afraid it was going to ruin it but thankfully it didn’t. Then I took the cowards way out for Saddler, I just couldn’t do all 3 against him, so I saved right before the fight, killed him with handgun and healed, then after that I reloaded the save and did it without healing (rocket launcher) but I still had to dodge all the tentacle-ness of the final form with my ‘ 2 hits then dead’ amount of health. I’m sure I could have done all 3 at once for him but i just didn’t have the patience after what I went through with Salazar, and since it was the final boss it was easy to just reload the save for the other achievement
@@chillproduction7142 can you still keep your weapons when completing the game on assisted then going on standard mode and still keep guns?

I'm doing a knife/pistol, no health run right now and I'm at Krauser with a sliver of red life left lol. Hoped it would recover by sitting around but no, not this part. One hit and I know I'm done. About to try it at the finale Krauser fight. Might have to just do either or, like heal and use only pistol to complete it and then go back and use shotguns with no heal. We'll see how many times I die haha
Hey I just completed a play through trying to do this. I didn’t get the achievement at the end, though. The Red9 counts as a handgun right? Are you not allowed to use grenades? If anyone could let me know I would really appreciate it.

Wouldn't be the fully upgraded starting pistol be the best one for this run because of its 5x critical Hit?
Yea that's what I'm running
Its not 5x damage its only 5x more likely to hit crits apparently, best gun is blacktail imo
@user-fk1ck5gi1w it is better in the original but in the Remake Blacktail has bloom and sway due to not being able to add red dot so it's not as consistent as a gun that that can use red dot.

ATTENTION
When an enemy is on the ground and it gives the knife prompt, don't bother The knife cannot be used in this game under that condition. The only thing that happens when you try and do the onscreen button prompt, is whatever character you're using just turns 180 degrees. it wastes your time and then the enemy gets up.
Knife doesn't belong in this game never mind having a button prompt because it doesn't work.
Can you use other weapons to damage bosses and finish them with a knife or handgun ??

Got all the way to chapter 15, and I think I messed up by using flash and heavy grenades for some enemies. Was using handguns and knifes up until then

I am doing the Gun and Knife trophy together with no healing and no merchant. Need to reduce playthrough as so many games. Thanks for the guide as i needed tips for the Regenerator stage.
Got past Krause it says I used different weapon back act 13 FUCCCCK need to run again from 12th time to get unlimited rocket launcher out

At 4 hours and 26 minutes, they do come out of the bag no matter the difficulty, BUT if u don't touch the bag, they won't fall out. U didn't touch it that's why he didn't drop

Pro tip... do this on a 3 playthrough. During your 2nd playthrough, you can buy infinite amounts of resources and first aid sprays from the merchant.
So my question is some challenges are timed is the pistol a knife a timed challenge?
The Saddler fight drove me fucking nuts while doing this challenge

I tried using all three of those guns with the Silver Ghost on my first pistol only run, it didn’t work. I think one of them might’ve been a bonus weapon, or I might’ve picked up another weapon I wasn’t supposed to, but I don’t know.
@@TheScribe1.0 You used some other weapon. These 3 guns don’t negate the challenge as they’re handguns.

Negates, I thought they would count as handguns too but no.

I'm not sure, I didn't try it. You can just make a save and check the challenges menu right after to see. It has to say "0" under minimalist for the achievement to unlock. If it says any other number, then revert back to the save you made!

No you cant
Can i use R9 ?
You can use Red9 instead if you prefer. It's better on bosses, but personally found it less useful on normal enemies.
Can i use grenade ?
You can not.
Congrats on this, On my first save I did it also with only the first pistol and knife. And melee attacks helped too. Wasn’t too hard, just annoying tbh. The no heal achievement is annoying tho.

Bout with krausss had zero health since 1st bout was brutal no heal gun/knife run still ON
"My guy" was harder to listen to that than the run
