Thank you so much for watching!
The key element that makes your illustration really stand out is your control of values. In particular, the reflection of light on the water is spot on.
Good morning Victor; a pleasure once again to see your instruction 😁👍🏻Thank you!
Hey Half, thank you! Nice to see you, doing a little bit of an effort to post more often for you guys.
Beautiful.💖
Thank you Briana! Glad you like it
New video after 1 week?! You're spoiling us! Thank you for giving us more insight into your techniques. Very much appreciated Victor. This is by far one of the best videos you have made.
Hey Thierry! Thanks so much for checking the vid! I know my posting schedule was a mess, will try to remedy that.
I love all of your videos!! Thank you so much for another upload!!
Thanks so much for watching!
This is incredibly helpful. I have a ton of trouble figuring out how to make backgrounds.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for watching!
Victoooooor 🎉 i'm so much Happy to see this!! It Is Crazy that YT did not send me the notification for your last video (the One you loaded 7 days ago). I will gladly watch It later!! Thanks man for all the advices, and as Always, Amazing art!
Hey Riccardo! Glad you like it, yeah I'm trying to post a bit more often, my previous schedule was a mess )
Your work is really beautiful, I have seen many people working on concept art, but this is the first time I have seen someone know color so well without using multiply or overlays. How did you get here? This is how you learned colors
Thank you! Glad you like it, I remember doing a few studies from photos when practicing color, I tried not to color pick from photo, but instead get the correct color myself by comparison. Also I think the book Alla Prima by Richard Schmid is super nice, a lot of great advice there. When planning your image , think about the light sources and how they will affect all the elements. Then of course have solid reference images that will guide your color choices,
I hope you will always be successful, dear Victor, I am not a concept artist, I work in the release of level design games, I do some environment design, but I really saw your work, especially your samples, it was very interesting, and most importantly, you know the colors in such a way that you can use them. You can also draw lights, shadows and the atmosphere of the environment. And the most important thing is that in 2 or 3 hours you can make the work in this way, and of course, a good art card takes a lot of time, and I saw your samples, it was like that, this is without exaggeration, I have a problem with perspective. I also couldn't understand anatomy well, that's why I couldn't enter the concept art industry. I wish I could draw like you. If you have a discord or a way to communicate, telegram or email that you answer, I'd be happy to send it to us. Thank you, victor again
hi Victor!! what an amazing new piece! do you do paid mentorships or anything of the sort?
Thank you Margarita! I am afraid currently, I don't have that much time to be able to start such a thing. Sometimes though, I put down ideas for a comprehensive course. In case something like this might happen, I will definitely let you know.
how to learn draw from imagine ? no need reference problem
can i use another program?
for example clip studio? or is necessary photoshop?
Hey karlo! Yeah absolutely, the tools I use in these videos are very basic, same as in all other apps (Clip studio, procreate... etc)
What canvas size do you use?
Hey Thanks for watching! Usually for these images I go for 6000 or 7000 pixels wide. For this type of sketches you don't necessarily need that much, but if its a more detailed illustration then more resolution gives more control over the edges and various transitions.
@@VictorStaris I have a problem with some dual (and textured) brushes, increasing size make it horrible low resolution. It is hardo to find decent 4-8k textures. Do you deal with this?
