    He doesn't want to be labeled because labels shut doors. I honestly think that he's trying to grow his audiences so that he can reach more people and expose them not only to the love of christ but to his journey so that they can practically apply the word to their lives with REAL expectations. I honestly believe his intentions are pure even if he's a little unorthodox. To ask him to continue to make the kind of music he once did and to act the way that makes you more comfortable is to ask him not to grow as an artist or person. I believe God gives music not only as a way to minister but also as an outlet. Life is a journey and honest music will reflect where you were at that time. I stand with crae. I've been a fan for a long time and I've been a christian even longer & haven't run into any issues 😂 God bless you all, I pray we all learn to enjoy our lives while serving our purpose. 😘

      Sounds like it’s about money not Jesus. We would hope that that’s what he’d doing but it just seems like he’s getting sucked in by the world. Go listen to rebel that’s what we need to do go hard for Christ or leave it alone.

    He spoke his truth very well. I never once felt like he wasn't giving God his glory. Some people, such as myself, don't have to say Gods name in every single sentence for you to know he's present in my life and I love and follow him. Stop judging him because he's not speaking the way you feel he should

    Not only is this man so real about himself and his outlook, and humble, he is absolutely one of the better rappers period!! The reason we like the mainstream guys' sound is because the hard core cussing and "n" word and all the rapping about all the trappings of the world sounds cooler. Satan is a lot more attractive than God MOST of the time for most people. I'm a believer, but I'm also human. Lecrae is very genuine and I guarantee only a real abrasive and very lost artist would dare to call him a chump or insult him, and nobody says he can't flow.

    I think people, especially fans need to really reread the words of Christ. He had some TOUGH sayings and many of them were towards the church. Matter of fact, that's who he came down the hardest on because they knew so much and did SO LITTLE. A lot of people quote Paul, and rightly so. But they refuse to use the words of Jesus Christ when it comes to examining themselves. Do you not know how many woes the religious leaders received from Christ himself because of their hypocrisy? Matthew has plenty of them. Check out what He has to say the church in Revelation. It ain't pretty. And when did Jesus ever call anyone who was already in the church? If anything, pray for Lecrae to have godly mentors around him who care more for his soul than his popularity.

      It is not just Lecrae, but it has become a Fad and Trend now for Christian Artist to get their start in CHH , CCM, AND GOSPEL to then to Decide to not wanna be known as that to be Relevant to the world.... instead of being world changers they become world pleasers...instead of Building up the Body of Christ it has become all about Brand Building.
      You said Lecrae has just lost a fan and that's cool...I believe rightfully so, but never stop praying for him to Repent for causing Confusion and being a Stumbling Block...That is the best we can do, and hopefully he will come in his senses.

    Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10). The church comes first in God's eyes. Pray for this man, He needs the chastisement of the Lord. To sip on cocktails and pray sounds pretty hypocritical to me. Where's the urgency Lecrae?! It's not just him, but the church in general, we need to pray for the church to wake up to the urgency of the gospel. God please awaken your people who are called by your name to be the salt and light and not loose our saltiness in Jesus' name

    I'm sorry, this is another typical Lecrae interview talking about being real, just being me, don't put me in a box, I'm just trying to reach people, etc. and making much of himself and not of the Lord. It's funny how he complains about people's expectations of him (and in many respects, he is right, he's not God and we shouldn't treat him like he has all the answers or that he does the "right" thing all the time), but I get the impression he doesn't examine himself in light of the criticism to see if there is any truth to it. He has fame and worldly accolades, but as a Christian, does he not see any danger based on Romans 12:1-2, James 4:4, 1 John 2:15-17, and 1 Peter 1:15-16? Does he not know that the way he talks about God and the world in interviews that he sounds just like secular rappers that want to get their little shout-outs about God and their faith while subtly hyping themselves? No offense, if dropping the Christian "label" to "reach" more people without the truth of Romans 1:16 while criticizing the church and getting bigger venues was his game plan, he worked it to perfection. Shai Linne rightly speaks about this danger in his song, "Ichabod," which means the glory of God has departed. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/JjvVRdSsKyE/v-deo.html

    • @2timothy23
      @2timothy23 7 років тому +1

      Enid, I think I expressed my concerns in my original post. As a Christian who listens to his public statements in interviews, it is troubling. I'm sorry, but many of his statements and observations don't always line up with scripture and it isn't a one time thing. It's not just about mentioning God or Christ in your songs, it's also about expressing Christ and sharing the gospel when given the platform. His motto used to be Romans 1:16, but I don't hear anything about the death and resurrection of Christ in any of these recent interviews. Nothing about the depths of sin (Romans 3:10-18, Jeremiah 17:9, Ephesians 2:1-3) to warn the sinner to flee the wrath to come. Nothing about the fact that God left His throne to become a man to die for sins based on His love and grace (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9). But what I do hear is a surface level mention of God from a secular view (he says things secular rappers say about God, I see no distinction). Listen, I am no braver than anyone else in sharing the gospel, I fail many times unless filled with the Spirit. I don't expect perfection from Lecrae or any Christian, but there should be consistency. And when you answer questions and tend to criticize the church, talk about God in your own way, and even promote yourself above Christ, someone needs to sound the alarm that this brother is heading in the danger zone. Yet, when others do, suddenly there's Lecrae worship and the ones that have genuine concern have the problem.
      Brethren have died across the world and the ages (and still are) for their faith. America has made Christianity into this hip, cool thing where no one is offended by our faith because we're lukewarm about sharing it. Jesus said the world hates Him, God the Father, and even believers in John 15:18-23 unless the Father draws them to Christ (John 6:44). God draws them and brings them through the proclamation of the gospel (Romans 10:8-17). These artists tend to forget this because they're blinded by shows, lights, fame, etc. It is dangerous for them and the ones that follow them. So if that observation makes something wrong with me, then I'm in good company since they crucified my Savior for sharing the Good News as well (I'm certainly not Christ, but the Spirit should be sanctifying us to be more like Him).

    • @fulanodetal3614
      @fulanodetal3614 7 років тому +1

      Eric Smith Not every interview is about sharing the heart of God. The heart of God is NOT something you can share in only an hour. You need YEARS to explain it in order to actually understand what that means. Anyone who has participated in a church's youth ministry would know this. Conversions happen overnight. Conversions that create more conversions take years. If you can explain the heart of God over a cup of coffee, then I'm sorry you shouldn't be listening to Lecrae, you should be making music, too. You'd have a skill that no one on Earth ever possessed. It took Jesus death and THREE DAYS MORE to explain his plan. If it took Jesus a lifetime for his plan to become clear, you shouldn't be able to fit it into an hour's lecture. Life doesn't work that way.

    • @2timothy23
      @2timothy23 7 років тому +2

      Enid, while not every interview needs to be about God, when a Christian is asked about his ministry (which I assume his music is based from his own statements in the past), why wouldn't you talk about God? And when you're talking to unsaved people, why wouldn't you share the gospel since it is the power of God until salvation (Romans 1:16)? And while the unsaved mind truly doesn't understand spiritual things (1 Corinthians 2:14), the gospel is the means of conversion and it is supernaturally done by God. Are you saying you need years to explain the gospel? Understanding God does take a lifetime as a believer because it is part of our sanctification, but for the unbeliever they need the gospel message now and in a twenty minute interview you can articulate it. There's nothing wrong with building relationships, but I don't have time to build a relationship with every unsaved people. If I'm on vacation in another city and have a chance to share the gospel, am I to refrain from doing so because I need to build a relationship with that person? No, I share it because unless he repents and believes that unsaved person is condemned already (John 3:18-19).
      And your statement about life not working that way would mean no Christian has enough time to share the clear message of salvation. Listen, I have nothing against Lecrae, but he's still just another believer. We all have different roles in the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-27), but no one is more anointed or special than anyone else. And even Lecrae needs to be examined by scripture, not by his popularity or how nice we think he is. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I search the scriptures like a Berean to see if what someone is saying about God and His people are true (Acts 17:11) and I test the Spirits (1 John 4:1). I am commanded to do that by God in the Bible, not just nod my head in agreement every time some famous rapper, preacher, or teacher says something about God. It needs to line up with the Bible. Does this mean I don't pray or appreciate Lecrae. Of course, I do, but some of the statements he says are Biblically wrong and are not prudent. And when people start to think Christians that are trying to be careful and discerning are wrong and the ones that say whatever they want because they're famous can do no wrong, then there's a problem. And that problem comes close to idolatry.

    • @davidalexis5442
      @davidalexis5442 6 років тому

      Eric, in his spot, it's probably better if his music and interviews are 'light' on Jesus and the gospel. My pastor and many mentors don't even talk about God unless brought up. They live first, that is what does the work of Christ. He's doing a good job. I'd have to probably say he's a lot more heavy on Jesus and keeps his buddies accountable and they do him and lives a godly life. Plus, brother, he is rich and has women and all the trappings of the wicked industry thrown at him constantly, but in the sneaky way because Satan knows it has be to dressed like something that appears godly. But I'm with you, this world is lost. Everything was made for and thru Christ. Period. Praise God for Lecrae and you my brother.
