We get so caught up with the current shape of the sport, it is interesting to imagine where it'll be 5, 10 years down the road. Heck, with the fights we've been getting, things could look significantly different just a year from now!
The year is 2034. 53 year old Carlos Takam just stopped Jai Opetaia to become the undisputed heavyweight champion. He'll have to face his mandatory challenger now in Claressa Shields in her second mens heavyweight outing. If he wins, he'll surely oust Eubank Jr. from the p4p #1 slot.

@@elmztana1201 that is the weird thing in Boxing, I don't think you should count a fighter out after one loss. It is ridiculous to do so. But many boxing fans are like that
This is such an excellent summary of Dubois so far. Bang-on, a great job on this. Yes, almost mind-meld with Rummy and I also thought the big man Hrgovic was just better but DDD just knocked of THE Top Contender (and who many thought is the actual future of boxing) and now ex-champ AJ challenges Dubois! I will not miss that bout and yes I do have DDD as the favorite. He's simply getting better AND he's now been through 'Big Fight' experience so he's not the shy kid 'wowwed' by the lights and 'AJ Supershow' atmosphere. DDD is the man of the hour on that night, AJ the challenger. Yes, I do think (and have for years) DDD is going to be the big name, the champ and/or major force of the 2020s from now on. Barring an injury type thing.
The present is nothing to write home about either. All that heavyweight money out there to be had and nothing but a handful of B level mediocrities (Usyk excepted) fighting for it.
Dubois definitely redeemed himself after his losses to Usyk and Joyce. Whether he loses to AJ or not, I think he'll do great at HW after AJ, Usyk and Fury are gone. Rummy, great content as always.
Just wanted to chime in to say that I chose Chisora to win against Joyce after hearing Rummy's analysis of the bout and that it was some quasimodo level prediction
Great Video Rummy, thanks. He’s definitely going to be champion more than once, whether he’s the future I’m not sure, but he’s going to be around for a long time yet
Great stuff Rummy. Been gone a while and just starting to get caught back up. Dubois - I almost quit him when he lost to Joe Joyce but was obviously wrong. Hope he keeps going and becomes a great champion. The U.K. has much to be proud of in relation to their fighters and their fighting spirit! Lewis, Mason, Fury, Joshua, Whyte etc... Will always be remembered.
Superbly Explained Rummy!! Is Dubois The upcoming face of Boxing? He'll be here for Probably the next 10 to 12 years if that is what you meant?? As Far as a Prediction, I feel Joshua is Very Hungry and much more skilled in the Boxing department and will pace himself wisely, finding that opening for a KO to Dubois late 7th, 8th or 9th round. That's how I see it. Dubois is just not that skilled defensively and his stylistic approach hasn't changed a bit. Daniel Dubois IMO is still an above average fighter to be where he is. Joshua can box or scrap! Thanks Rummy for another great Video!
I agree Rummy I’ve been saying the same thing for the past few months DDD will be the top guy at Heavyweight I believe he will be unified at some point but I’m not sure if he can become undisputed
Moses Itauma is the most exciting heavyweight prospect right now and if it all goes right probaly the future of British heavyweight boxing. When you're getting brought into spar top level heavyweights at 16 years old and performing brilliantly its insane. Shane Mcguigan said he coudnt believe how good he was at that age when he brought him into spar Dubois himself a few years ago
Also rummy you really chose Miller to win? No wonder you conflate Nostradamus with Quasimodo... I appreciate your superb analyses but your predictive power is tragic

I caught the Huni fight a few days ago, and have been following him since his debut. Looking forward to seeing how his career unfolds, and always enjoy watching Opetaia.
An interesting idea, and one I initially thought ludicrous! But, you put a good case! In my opinion, Dubois is a very good fighter but more than that he is an incredibly well managed one! I really do not know how Frank Warren has done it! Poor old Hrgovic was top IBF contender for years and could not get a fight and Duboise comes off a stoppage loss to Joyce and in no rime is fighting for the world title! And then two fights later is fighting Hrgovic - the number one contender - in a title eliminator! What a manager! I'm very excited about the upcoming AJ v Dubois fight but am a little concerned at just how easy Daniel is to hit and Joshua does know how to punch! And just for the record I have Joseph Parker as the second best Heavyweight in the world right now! Keep up the great work Rummy!
Lol is this the same Dubois who should've walked out of Ukraine with the belts? But was screwed and then channels like this glossed over the cheating?? Now he is the future of HW Boxing 😂😂 I couldn't make this up man.
The only cheating was the low blow. He hit usyk 8 times low and that is without counting the borderline shot, can’t seem to grasp how you lot are so bitter in the UK, the ref saw a borderline shot as low and that is that. Then he quit. Boxing is always a sport where small changes make big impacts and Dubois didn’t wina round. Dubois has won as many borderline decisions as he’s lost if not more, he should’ve been TKOd against lerena after 3 kds, he was allowed to head but hrgovic several times and didn’t even get a warning and then also hit usyk low every round. Dubois is the last man to claim foul play, it was a borderline shot that hit the protector and the ref saw a low shot, that’s the end.
Watch out man you’ve stirred up all the bottom feeders, look how triggered they are haha. Like this guy with a whole account dedicated to racism and hating on AJ lol pathetic scum
As a Brit, I love both AJ and Dubois and I'm so sad that one of them is going to lose in September. I think it will be a lot closer than what many are saying it will be though.
My concern is he's been put against the best very quickly with more development to be had. He will be around long after today's sacred cows have retired.
I can't see Dubois beating AJ, but he is young enough to come again even if he loses. Not the finished article yet. He'll make a fortune from that fight though, but otherwise its a bad idea for him imo, could use 4-5 more 5-10 ranked fights first while he perfects his art.
Oddly, I can't see AJ beating Usyk, but can see Dubois with a chance. The way he walked through Hergovic; I know AJ hits harder, but I think that knock down from Usyk was more mental than physical; maybe he can take AJs shots with a grim determination? If so, AJ better watch out, Usyk too in the inevitable rematch.
You mean Hrgovich boxing vs English Ref's and beautiful Daniel headbutting, Dubois was getting hurt, so he turned into bull, he cut Hrgovich's both eyes and lips from jumping headbutts, look at fifth round, Dubois chicken dancing, hugging Hrgovich and headbutting and when Hrgovich catch him second time, Ref stand between them... Dubois couldn't do nothing to Hrgovich, it had to be the blood in his eyes Wich blinded him, even then when Hrgovich couldn't see - Dubois couldn't even hurt him... Pathetic from English boxing!!!
If Dubois stays in the title contention scene even for the next 10+ years then he'll hopefully mature like wine rather than milk. I think that if the Dubois that fought Miller, Hrgovic, and hopefully AJ fought Joe Joyce now for instance, the outcome would be different.
Bula from Fiji,Rummy. I've always enjoyed your content. I've been watching Dubois since he first broke out onto the pro scene and I think he's got what it takes to be king of the division within the next 5 years but I do also think he needs to add a bit of "mongrel" to his game. He's got terrific power and I think if he can add a bit more technical nuance and tighten up on his defence and footwork, he's sure to dominate the division in the future. But then again , what the hell do I know about boxing, aye?
The 90's and 70's were the most dominant eras Almost everyone fought everyone with the odd exceptions (notably Lewis vs Bow) , The early 80s and 00's were dominated by 2 elite heavyweights with very little else around... Since the Tyson schooled Vladimir this has been the 3rd most competitive era over the last half a decade by far, even with Modern day Politics robbing us of Wider vs AJ. There are a few bright sparks with Moses, Jared coming through and the likes of DDD floating around but the next Era needs a few more coming through to be able to compete with what we have been blessed with of late.
If Anderson can pass Bakole then he still might look more promising than Dubois. Especially if Dubois lose against AJ, which I think will happen, but at this point Dubois has a better resume despite the two losses
It will be a lackluster division if Dubois is on top. His notable opponents - Joyce - lost decisively Usyk - lost even more decisively Hrgovic - won, after eating dozens of shots and losing all the early rounds before getting a tko on cuts (mostly due to headbutts) after Hrgovic gassed out. Miller? A good win but still had to work for it against an out of shape, rusty, off the drugs Miller. If he gets the win over Joshua, that might paint things a different colour. But I'd be surprised.
DDD seems a good natured soul. His 'every baby needs a daddy' comment to Miller was a classic moment. His body shot afainst Uszk would have counted in many other bouts I suggest. He is a good fighter and definitely has a chance in beating Joshua. Only after that bout could we make a true judgement on his potential future.
If he keeps on defending with his face like he did against Hrgovic, I highly doubt it. AJ will get him out of there quite easily I think. If he steps up his game, why not? He's got hands for sure
Not sure if he is "the future of heavyweight boxing" but he can be a part of the future if he dusts himself down and gets back into it after losing to AJ, NO SHAME IN THAT FOR A YOUNG HEAVYWEIGHT, you learn a lot from the losses if you still have the heart and desire.
If Dubois beats AJ and looks good doing it, I'd say he's a top 3 heavyweight. I love these young guys who are fighting top competition, taking a couple losses and fighting back to the top. I'm picking AJ but this is a great fight!
Its hard to say now because Itauma hasn't fought anyone who comes to win yet but if I had to guess now I'd say the future is Itauma. I don't think DDD wil be regarded as top 3 if he wins. It's HW boxing a win with a knock out punch against the run of play of the fight won't even mean he's better than AJ. Personally i think Kabayel beats DDD
Rummy my brother you know I always support and love your videos. AJ vs DD if a big ask for DD. We as fans love them both but it will be impossible for DD to win against the new AJ. I honestly think Francis is better than DD when it comes to Agility and power. DD would be an easier target for AJ to hit. AJ has evolved to beast mode under Ben. Love the video brother we need more content like this one please
As a watcher of your channel for over a decade now i have not seen the video yet but I don't see him as factor in the vision of the top tier fighters he's got to much quit in him
I like Dubois and glad he bounced back. Certainly, he has a chance of catching AJ, who doesn't seem to have the best chin. My concern with Dubois is it seems he is wide open from a straight right hand, which is AJ's money punch. So I think that will ultimately be his downfall within 4 rounds.
Dubois definitely has the power for the job but the only problem is that he takes way to many punches flush. Can he take 30 power punches from AJ? I'm going with AJ but i won't be surprised if Dubois pulls it off. If he wins , he definitely positions himself as the leader of the new generation.
If this is what the Heavy Weight division has to offer , its in trouble , the guys in this weight at this time are very lucky indeed , they wouldnt be in the top fifty in the 70s.....
Naw, Moses Itauma can already take on Dubois at 19, much more Skill and ring IQ. Jalolov should already be able to take DD out. And maybe Anderson, we' ll see next weekend. They are the future.
I think that there was far too many headbutts in the Hrgovic fight, he isn't 100% there for me as a heavyweight yet, and i doubt he will still be a big name at 32, but lets see, the AJ fight is a big test, good luck to both men
No because Moses itauma exists.10 fights in and I’d put him in against Anderson tomorrow and put money on him winning inside 5.The kid has special talent
Good video man. I'm a fan of DDD but i think once again Warren rushed him into a fight he's not ready for. Miller was off the sauce and Hrgovic hasnt looked good in years. This fight is going to either look like AJ vs Nganou or AJ vs Povetkin. Daniel isn't ready for AJ, needs another few fights. Was hoping DDD would fight Parker.
Well, we will know in September won’t we. Personally I like the guy, and he is a damn god fighter, but I’m not convinced yet that he is the future of heavyweight boxing
If everyone wasnt allowed to duck whoever they wanted, we could have had another golden era after Fury beat Klitschko. Unfortunately we now have to pin our hopes on fighters like dubois for the future.

Dubois ain’t no joke his last outing proved that yet again …he’ll be in a war with AJ here soon 🥊🥊
If Dubois stays in the title contention scene even for the next 10+ years then he'll hopefully mature like wine rather than milk. I think that if the Dubois that fought Miller, Hrgovic, and hopefully AJ fought Joe Joyce now for instance, the outcome would be different.
If Dubois wins you have to put him side by side with the Andy Ruiz celebratory jump
Thanks RC 🎉💢💥🔥💯
Honestly, I think Joseph Parker will start taking over this division. He looks like a man on a mission.
Mosses Ituma is 100% the future
It’s gonna come down to Moses and Dubois! I hope it’s not one of those eras where they duck each other for years
Moses Itauma (19) is worth watching if he continues his trajectory.
THIS IS RUMMYS CORNER *BOINGGGGG*
It will be a lackluster division if Dubois is on top.
His notable opponents -
Joyce - lost decisively
Usyk - lost even more decisively
Hrgovic - won, after eating dozens of shots and losing all the early rounds before getting a tko on cuts (mostly due to headbutts) after Hrgovic gassed out.
Miller? A good win but still had to work for it against an out of shape, rusty, off the drugs Miller.
If he gets the win over Joshua, that might paint things a different colour. But I'd be surprised.
He's young relatively speaking and may be relevant in the future but it wont happen unless he tightens up his defence.
If Anderson beats Bakole then Dubois has some serious competition for the future king of the division role. But who knows.
Thank you and nicely done Rummy. Dubois is easy to hit and a big target. AJ is going to detonate pin point BOMBS!
Moses Itauma is coming
He may be the future, but its the present now. I think AJ will be too much for him now... maybe in 4-5 years we have a different story...
If Dubois beats AJ and looks good doing it, I'd say he's a top 3 heavyweight. I love these young guys who are fighting top competition, taking a couple losses and fighting back to the top. I'm picking AJ but this is a great fight!
I'd like to see him against Bakole
the future looks bright for Baby Huey!
Why is the USA not producing fighters like Tyson and Ali anymore? 🧐
More guaranteed money in baseball, basketball and gridiron for big black men, without getting your faculties destroyed.
How could you get this wrong, Rumy?
Quasimodo predicted it all!
You were so right
As a watcher of your channel for over a decade now i have not seen the video yet but I don't see him as factor in the vision of the top tier fighters he's got to much quit in him
Why is Parker not in the title discussion despite his recent run of impressive victories?
Hopefully
I like Daniel and think he has great promise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If this is what the Heavy Weight division has to offer , its in trouble , the guys in this weight at this time are very lucky indeed , they wouldnt be in the top fifty in the 70s.....
I'm not so sure, Richard Dunn and Chuck Wepner managed to get title shots okay. 😂
Moses Itauma is the future, not DuBois.
Dubois is still a nobody unless he beats AJ. If he does that then he suddenly becomes a top 3
Naw, Moses Itauma can already take on Dubois at 19, much more Skill and ring IQ. Jalolov should already be able to take DD out. And maybe Anderson, we' ll see next weekend. They are the future.
I think that there was far too many headbutts in the Hrgovic fight, he isn't 100% there for me as a heavyweight yet, and i doubt he will still be a big name at 32, but lets see, the AJ fight is a big test, good luck to both men
No because Moses itauma exists.10 fights in and I’d put him in against Anderson tomorrow and put money on him winning inside 5.The kid has special talent
all i can say is that we got like 5 years of shit boxing in HW era atleast !
Who's upcoming on the British Boxing Scene ?
Good video man. I'm a fan of DDD but i think once again Warren rushed him into a fight he's not ready for. Miller was off the sauce and Hrgovic hasnt looked good in years. This fight is going to either look like AJ vs Nganou or AJ vs Povetkin. Daniel isn't ready for AJ, needs another few fights. Was hoping DDD would fight Parker.
Lol comparing ddd to a 38 Yr washed mma fighter 1-0-1 n a washed 40 Yr old povetin is real funny. You're in for a rude awakening September
Well, we will know in September won’t we. Personally I like the guy, and he is a damn god fighter, but I’m not convinced yet that he is the future of heavyweight boxing
I think AJ will spark him out in 4 rounds.
Yes... If he fights under his rules, instead of punching he could headbutts the better fighters
Idk about the future but the guy is tough I respect his skillset as well I thought he stopped usyk 🤷🏾♂️
If everyone wasnt allowed to duck whoever they wanted, we could have had another golden era after Fury beat Klitschko. Unfortunately we now have to pin our hopes on fighters like dubois for the future.
DDD: Modern day Frank Bruno
