I have thousands of hours and dollars invested in illuvium and I can honestly say this thing is cooked.
There's always a possibility. But there's no other game quite like it to invest in anyways. I dare you to bet on Axie, Star Atlas or something lol.
@@Scoriox No one has to invest in any web3 game
Sunk cost fallacy
No joke lmao
lol first comment super toxic looool Keep up the great work Scoriox, Illuvium will have its day! Being a part of the community has been super entertaining for me the last 6 months, great content creators and who else builds a game like this in public?
I just want the game to be really fun, and to play it. Everything else is just noise.
As an observer of Illuvium since late 2020, I was drawn to the game for its potential and wanted to experience it without any financial ties. After playing both Illuvium Zero and the Overworld, it appears that the game has fallen short of its ambitious promises. While visually impressive, the gameplay itself doesn't live up to the hype. As a new player, I found the game to be oversold, and this serves as a valuable lesson-in the blockchain gaming sphere, delivering on expectations is just as crucial as generating excitement around a project.
I liked how he presents his content, but the fact is Illivium is going nowhere.
The team doesn’t have the talent available to knock Iit out of the park, plus they aren’t experienced at all in any of this stuff.
It’s okay, we don’t win them all, nor are they all winners.
Come make Star Atlas content, something fresh.
StarAtlas? Is that thing ever gonna come out?
I mean they lost 50% of their treasury and have a roadmap that like 10 year ahead
Star Atlas has been looking pretty cool lately, but sadly the genre of game just doesn't interest me. Maybe if they make a dogfighter.
Glad everyone seeing the bad stuff to. Keep up the honesty 👏 got my respect.
I've never shyed away from the bad stuff. I just only talk about it when I have something valuable to add to the conversation.
the game is not fun and the company does not have a lot of runway. So if we don't get a gaming bullrun this project is dead.
The Arena game is very fun, have you tried it?
@@Scoriox How is it comparing to Riot's TFT
@ yes its not =) any other game is more fun
Yup I lost a $2000+ compared to when a bought a land 2 years ago
It’s not just toxic in the Illuvium community, it’s all of Crypto right now. They are just grumpy that they haven’t made money yet or worse sold and lost money. Love the Videos!
Making money? I couldn't care less about that, I have captured 500 illuvials and have nothing to do with them. An adventure should be at the paramount of every game design.
Yes I have noticed it more and more, even in Pirate Nation who hasn't made a single blunder. Its super depressing.
@ it won’t last forever. Crypto Gaming will be the new best thing again and a flood of people will enjoy the games.
In hindsight, if the team had been a bit more open about the fact that OW will only be a pack opening game without Lore and adventure, maybe it would have been such a big surprise.
But I think adventure is what makes a game a game.
They were very very open about that. The problem was that expectations got set beyond that anyways and the team had no way of reigning it in.
@Scoriox Personally, I do remember talking about an RPG game where Aaron has written thousands of pages of lore And when we got to testing the game, it was said that the elements related to Lore have been removed during the test phase. In reality, I don't think these ever existed
is Illuvium zero playable right now? Do I still need to transfer land to passport to play, or can I play directly with wallet?
Link your cold wallet to your Passport and you can keep your land on your cold wallet. It's easy to do.
Playable? Technically yes
Worth playing? Lol
@ no, without the cold wallet?
You can play with your cold wallet :)
@@Scoriox I don't have a cold wallet. I don't trust the delivery ppl, and ledger ceo or something got...just look up what happened like this week.
can I use it like literally any other dapp to ever exist? With my items in my hot wallet.
The toxicity comes from the failure after failure from the team and their mismanagement of funding. The fact you question this often in videos answers your own question
amateurish leadership...these guys got good ideas but still learning on the job on how to run a gaming studio, correcting mistakes as they go..Unfortunately some mistakes might be impossible to recover from.
Every startup studio makes a lot of mistakes. We just need to assess if they have overcome them.
The fundamental issue with Illuvium is its apparent lack of genuine talent and a solid grasp of core game design principles. They seem overly focused on monetization-trying one approach, failing, then pivoting to a completely different genre in hopes that something will stick. Despite their promises, they consistently miss the mark and appear out of touch with actual market demands. Now they’re positioning themselves as a AAA studio, but instead of competing with established AAA titles, they’re chasing retention-driven strategies that don’t necessarily generate profit. If Illuvium wants any chance of success, it must abandon the free-to-play model and promote itself as a true “Collectible Battle Game.” Removing the collectible component only undermines the value of in-game assets and weakens the entire economy. I’m relieved I sold my ILV and land; Illuvium’s trajectory seems grim. Ultimately, we may have to wait for another developer to recognize that free-to-play-often considered a predatory model-is unpopular and fundamentally incompatible with web3 gaming.
amateurish leadership
It’s web 3 so muh monetization must be front and center!
I think having a place for players to 'try' the game is a valuable tool but I am leaning in the direction of focusing on ownership more and more every day.
Considering these guys are neophytes in the industry, it's pretty astounding what they were able to create. However the signs of amateurish leadership are there, constant flip flopping, no true direction, and etc. Letting amateurs and the community run things might not be the best idea, as many of these guys are more interested in extracting immediate profits from the project than it's long term health. If this project doesn't work out, it'll be just one of many failed crypto projects that they will move on from.
They've definitely made mistakes. But the pivoting and flip flopping ended a year ago now and it shows. They need our support now to bring this thing home.
@@Scoriox I hear ya scoriox. sorry if i sounded critical, but yeah this project still has my support. I'm still playing Zero and extracting fuels religiously. As for Arena I can't wait until we get it all fleshed out.
I am invested and I hope illuvium succeeds, to me it seems that the content they continuously create is meant to satisfy current users and hardcore gamers.. and seems too complicated to me, I would recommend they try to keep it simple to bring people in i.e.. non-hardcore gamers into it..
BOOM: INSERT ETHLIZARDS AD! lol ;)
I would never. Plz Ricky.
@Scoriox .... what would you call it then? 🤔 lol
Great work brother keep on keeping on game on !!
I shall never stop grinding fam.
I think the game will be much better but will it lead to people spending money? will it bring in new people? We shall see
Hard to say for sure
I understand your frustration. A focus on Arena is still a focus on the Leviathan, they just want the game to be stable before adding rewards. Say there were rewards in the Leviathan Arena? If you crash every second game wouldn't it feel even worse.
We just need some patience.
@@Scoriox If I do not know how it should be done, I just say that is what is needed for the web3 community to return to play actively, because if you invest in something also like to win something.
All will be well in due time, we just have to weather the storm and make notes from learned lessons. Our council members have to be embolden with impunity to make suggestion that they know they community stands behind while being taken seriously. Everytime you speak about Illuvium and its potential Scoriox, I agree with you 95% of the time. That means that when you speak in the council meetings your suggestions for direction should be heavily weighted. If not, then what is the point of the DAO?
We give Kieran valuable feedback often. Actually the ICC brings some great feedback as well and Kieran is taking it all on board. You might be surprised but 80% of the time, the team is already adding the suggestions from the community from their own discussions. It just takes time so the community doesn't feel heard sometimes.
I've always viewed this game as a long-term commitment. Could you make money on Pokemon on Day 1? Yes: Open packs and sell off the good stuff for a higher price. This is how ever TCG is treated in the short game. But ... I don't expect every problem to be solved with magical thinking all at once. I've played Gauntlet against bots and win regularly, but keep having my ass handed to me by actual humans. That tells me that there is some skill needed to play, and ultimately, that's going to be a key factor in the success of the game. I can't say I'm bullish, but I certainly haven't given up ... and I hope the team doesn't, either.
The game is easily top 3 in Crypto Gaming. People like to conflate that alongside token price, and they don't realise the 2 couldn't be more separate.
But the game gets better every day which is exciting as hell!
just waiting for the MMO Lite!
I feel you are like many, and I totally get it. Would be a super fun game!
Keep up the good work Scoriox!!
Thanks heaps mate
Illuvium was the project that made me interested in crypto. It was about the same time when you started to make content. Keep having fun with it. At some point the vision, strategy, quality and engagement will all come together. Having some challenges early may make everything better in the future.
I appreciate this mate. It'll all come together in the end, we can already see something great start to form!
🧡👏✊️🦊👍🙌🧡
Appreciate it Fox!
ilv. is going to shock everyone... ❤❤❤❤
Absolutely mate!
Scoriox youre one of the real ones and keeping it real and honest. I rly rly support you and want you to keep positive spirit. Keep going strong my man!
Positivity is harder by the day, but I don't see the benefit in negativity when it comes to anything. So its either positivity or nothing.
and btw GIVE me Ascendant again dammit! So hyped and alot of players in the start. got a game rly fast in the old days ;)
The good old days Zaleth :P
