- After the can am X3 went to a new home I purchased a 2019 Yamaha yxz1000r ss. Let’s see how it’ll do.

Man x3 is life! The power of can am is like a 2 stroke in a 4 stroke format. 200hp 99% won't use it but I'm glad it's there. The ride is plush and I can jump it without going end over end
X3 is a hard machine to beat!
Yeah, but gears > belt. Its all preference really, yxz just feels like a rally car to me.
Glad you’re back! Yxz is awesome! We recently went to West Virginia from rhode island. We stayed at Ashland resort, we only stayed a week but definitely need more time on those trails. What a blast!
Is there anywhere to ride side by sides in the rhode island region.. im currently in north kimgstown..
@@rickburkes4485 sadly there isn’t any place to ride them in Ct or ri unless it’s private land. I usually go to Maine 3-4 times a year to ride

Looking forward to the new videos. It’s fun to mix it up every once in awhile we jumped out of our XP Turbo while the market was favorable and ordered a new X 3 gonna give can am a try. Now just waiting for it to show up. Until then will be riding vicariously through your vids.

I love my YXZ its a blast in the fast trails. An exhaust and tune makes a huge difference. Turbo would be awesome too. I have been wanting an x3 for jumping but I love the driving experience and reliability of the YXZ.

Congrats on the YXZ I just had mine out for the first time over the weekend on some Hatfield and Mccoy trails... they're not the most powerful or fastest SxS but I believe they're the funnest to drive
They are a lot of fun to drive. Even on regular easy trails the shifting adds so much to the experience.
That was my first SXS was a 2016 YXZ, it was a cool machine but I can’t believe you let the X3 go. Did it break? I will say I loved having a Clutch, actually got it brand new in 2017 for only 12,800 bucks. We bought 3 or 4 at Romney.
X3 was still a solid unit with 3700 miles. Market was up and I had no time to ride so let it go. When it came time for another one I also wanted an Atv so yxz was a cheaper option. Love the shifting tho. I also had a 16 clutch model before the x3.

Factory turbo kit really wakes it up. My riding buddy has one on his 2019. Keeps up with X3s no problem.

What all needs to be done to the yxz to make it reliable by putting a turbo on it?
When did yamaha start turboing these? Not sure ive seen a favtory turbo on any yxz

Grabbing the gears makes it so fun. I hope you end up liking it. I will say I had those front fenders and hated them. Constantly rubbing. Took mine off and looking at alternatives
Just went back to stock bighorns. See if they rub.
Wedge a 5 gallon bucket between the top of the tire and the bottom of the flare and then take a heat gun and shape the flare to the the bucket. After I did this cleared 31's with no rubbing and the same flares.

Very nice! You should look into the yxz crawl box made by Chris Weismann. I have one on order, it is a low range box that bolts onto the transmission.
Did you receive the kit yet? If so how has it treated you?

But I will say that the YXZ sounds THE best and Yamaha Reliability is great
I love the sound, the shifting and it doesn’t have a squeak or rattle one at 3100 miles. Original bushings wheels bearings and everything. Build quality is great compared to some others.

i have a yxz also youll love it on short course type stuff , stays planted and can get out of the hole
Big step backwards unless you're racing short course
They all have their own good attributes. Sometimes I'd like the option to downshift my x3 lol especially around 20mph at 5000 RPM

I have a 17. It certainly has its limitations and it’s NOT the fastest by any means, but shifting through woods is an entirely different experience.

Hey bud, I seen you on the Pocahontas trail on Saturday Oct 2nd. Probably about 2:30. We were leaving and heading to Indian Ridge. I had a X3 and stopped and let you get by and as you passed I noticed it was you in the new buggy. I so wanted to turn around and say hello. Hope you got some good riding in.
You wasn’t the one that about hit head on with me was ya? Should turned and caught up. I’d tagged along
@@WvTrailN No, you stopped and let our group by, but it was easier for me to let you by then sneak by you. My buddy was leading the pack with a white pro XP, then a renegade 1000xxc, Outlander, then me in a X3 RC. Next time we'll do that for sure! Were you shooting any video or just breaking in the new unit?

Been following you for a while wondering where your videos went. What's the final verdict on the yxz? Still like the manual shift better than the paddle? How about the yxz vs say a can am or rzr?
Big fan of the yxz. Love the shifting. X3 has a smoother ride and tons more power tho. Only have two rides on the paddle shift and it’s growing on me. All out fun I’d say manual. The paddle shift is less work for those cruising trail rides tho. A turbo kit with 200-215 hp on the yxz would be hands down my favorite ride I believe. Might be a future project if I can make it happen.

X3 is smoother at speed and tons more power. Turbo will do that 😂. Minus that I really like the Yxz. It’s more fun to drive in the trails but don’t think it’ll be as capable as the x3.
How do you like the YXZ compared to the Can-Am? I have the BFG and I don't care for them much.
The x3 has WAY more power and handles better. I love The shifting on the yxz. It Makes every trail fun for me. I adjusted the shocks some on the Yxz to try to remove some of the body roll. I also removed the bfg tires after one ride and Went back to 29” bighorns. So hopefully on ride #2 I’ll have a little more power and better handling. I think a turbo would make the yxz A blast to drive.

We ran some back roads and Merritt said he could half throttle it and pull on me. Ima put some stock tires on and we will line em up. I’m still calling it 22 lengths 😂
