I was just reading an article earlier today and it was an interview with former GW employees and this one guy said that they are now trained (at least in the one he worked at) that if they find ANYTHING of value they are to bring it to a manager to be shipped out to their warehouse to go online and also they have scanners to scan new items with barcodes, cd’s, movies, books etc. They are gonna price themselves right out of business because more and more people are gonna get sick of the price gauging 😡
@@shannon_w. why is it considered price gouging when Goodwill does it but it's perfectly fine when a reseller get something for $5 at Goodwill and sells it for 50 I would rather give $50 to the Goodwill least it goes for charity
@@naturalwitch1359 GW gets their items for free and originally was for people who couldn't afford retail, or didn't want to. Now they're taking the better items and auctioning them off for themselves. Resellers are just trying to make a living and support their families. They also go to yard/garage sales, estate sales, flea markets and antique malls
The goodwill I shop at in Houston is $2.19 a pound for clothing/shoes. after it’s over $50 it’s $1.79 a pound. Glasses/ Electronics/ media is $1.19 a pound.
That snowman is actually the girl version. I bought one for my grandmother at a country western store. I wanted to get the boy but it was fairly expensive and I couldn't get both. She passed away so I actually have it now. I'm always afraid that I'm going to break it. I really surprised it survived the bins!
Craft bundles are a great idea......you missed a LOT of great ribbon, however. Keep in mind....ribbon, wood cutouts, glue sticks, styrofoam balls, bells, stamps, lace, jute twine, scrapbook paper, embellishments...so much you can put together
I love the gingerbread house! Great condition too! Awe, I love the octopus! The glass snowman is lovely. The monkey is adorable. Its insane that they raise prices when the nation is dealing with high inflation! You found some great stuff! As always, the shopping trip was a lot of fun!
I have not been to a outlet in a good year and a half. I recently stopped by and saw 4 blue bins full of DVD's and video games. To my surprise the games were actually in the cases. So I sorted through and ended up with 47 video games. I also picked up 2 night lights and a baseball hat. When I got to the checkout I thought I would just put my stuff on the scale and pay by weight (the way it used to work). The cashier told me that games were classified as "media" and were 75 cents each. So I ended up paying $35.25 for 47 games. The night lights she weighed and charged me 17 cents for them. The hat was 31 cents. I cant help but think if it worked like it used to those 47 games weighed 11 LB x $1.25 Per LB would be like $14. Dont get me wrong I was glad to find them there. But the higher prices will make me think twice about going back.
Wow! Ty here was a treasure trove of items in these bins. The bell wreath was nice. As was the line one tree If I had been searching the bins, I would have gotten a cart full of Christmas decor for this coming year. I am floored to see what the variety. You are awesome. I love your channel, Robyn! ❤️❤️❤️
In one of the bins I saw a crocheted stocking (probably vintage) by itself you may make $10-$12 on it but maybe you could start getting some vintage Christmas items (maybe some smaller stuff) and make a vintage Christmas bundle. I have seen them on Mercari for like &40 and up. Since it is smaller stuff it would be easier to store it till you are ready to sell it. Just a thought 😉
All of those snapback caps you looked at and left you can make $10-15 per hat if you have good hats, considering they weigh next to nothing it would basically be all profit. I know you want items with a higher roi, but slow and steady wins the race
I heard the prices went up at the bins. I quess more money for upper management. I wonder what they do with the items that do not sell? Is Goodwill the company that ships all the unwanted clothes to the less fortunate countries trying to sell to them?
The items that don't sell usually end up in the landfills. As far as the price increase, Goodwill has community programs and helps people get jobs. I guess like everything else, the cost of doing that type of service has gone up too.
Love your orange octopus! You are the best Diva to watch. I love how you take to everything like they are real♥️♥️♥️Have a happy Valentine’s Day tomorrow 🎉🎉🎉
I enjoyed the boxes when they were really old boxes from stuff like cooking appliances from the 1970's or 80's or there was some really old box that was used for papers somewhere official like a court or jail or government office maybe those things just use the low resolution printers for labels
wait, what?? I haven't even watched the video yet I'm too stunned by the price increase. Are you kidding me? $2.79 a pound?? I thought $2.19 was bad, compared to Seattle's $1.19. Thankfully I haven't seen a price increase here yet, knock on wood. Did the prices go up in the Vancouver area as well since they are all in the same umbrella? Sheesh.

If Greedwill is going to keep raising prices, they better start sharing some of the better quality stuff!! Great haul, Robyn!

@@naturalwitch1359 I didn’t mention resellers because the OP was talking about Goodwill. Also Goodwill gets their stuff for free so, there’s that.

The spice rack comes in handy for displaying multiple items when taking pics for selling.
It’s amazing that no candle tops/lanterns haven’t showed up in all those items! Even a Christmas one!
Did I mention how much I enjoy your cover music? Well, I like it a lot! Good choice! Had fun today, thanks!

I'm surprised anything survives the bins the way some toss the things around. I wouldn't even have the patience to go through them!

Yes like your song.
Love the gingerbread house and the frosted snowman. Prices are going up on everything. 😥

Resellers have only themselves to blame for the higher prices
What / where do you sell your items on
the price is scary! glad you could still find stuff.
