When these cds came out noone bought them, I did and I love the Tony Martin era of Sabbath, its great to see that this era is getting the respect and love it deserves.
Tony is a wonderful vocalist and human being. Of all Sabbath’s Vox since Ozzy, Dio and Tony’s voices were best suited for the music. Ray, RIP, ( not Ian) Gillian was probably the only other notable vocalist Sabbath had.
Me too, i know all the drum beats, vocal lines, bass lines, guitar lines since i was 17 (50 now). Even i dont play any instrument. Such a great album!!
Funny how these Tony Martin era albums were not very appreciated when they came out, but today we hold them in such high regard. Really great albums indeed; TYR could have followed Heaven And Hell or Mob Rules easily.
For me it was the greatest Sabbath album since "Mob Rules". I had tears of joy streaming down my face as I listened to the cassette when it came out back in 1990, because after wading through the previous three albums (which I love and appreciate fully now), I was so overjoyed that Black Sabbath was BACK, and sounded like a legendary band again. :)
i have the entire era of black sabbath with tony martin on vocals. tony martin never got the credit he deserved. i never cared for ozzy osbourne in black sabbath !
One of the most tastefull rock intros ever. I know a lot of people didn't site TYR as real Sabbath (Ozzy slagged this album to no end) but it worked for me! Tony's voice is outstanding
christschinwon A lot of people were who were Sabbath plans till this day do not recognize the Tony Martin era as a great arrow music but to me Tony Martin was the best singer of Black Sabbath ever had
Ridiculous. I'd say that the 13 album had done what the Seventh Star album already had done decades prior. And what else did Ozzy do with the band? "Retirement" tours. And yet albums like this aren't re-released.
From a technical standpoint, the greatest Sabbath lineup. As much as I love Dehumanizer, Iommi should have ran with this lineup. This album is gold and arguably the best since Heaven and Hell.
Tony Iommi would have continued with Martin, Cozy and Neil but a reunion with either Dio or Ozzy was worth a ton of money that Sabbath at the time was unfortunately wasn't getting because their current label IRS Records was doing a poor job of marketing them in America. I always wondered if Warner Bros kept Sabbath for Headless Cross and TYR then they would've had much better album sales.
Tbh... he just sounds like he's trying to be Dio... but he can't and... i dunno, i don't think i like him that much cause of how similar he is to Dio, which is kinda shameless
Soon you can and we all can. The Tony Martin boxset is coming out in May for all to buy this Great albums again. ;) its called Anno Domini, you're welcome!
This record was my first contact with Black Sabbath back in 1995...I "borrowed" it from my brother and made a copy on tape. It's still one of my favourite Sabbath albums and very underrated.
I don't know why, but this album, Headless Cross and (to a lesser extent) Eternal Idol have such good production...I love listening to them just for the production sometimes...
Essa música é linda demais, nos arremete a um momento, uma época que vivemos em uma outra Vida, perfeita ! adoro Tommy e Tony Martin tem uma voz esplêndida, linda, uma magia na voz.
Brings memories of Earth’s previous incarnations when ‘mythical’ creatures roamed... I can see the jagged blue mountains of Nordheim out of Robert E Howard’s stories, where the golden-haired Aesir and crimson Vanir carry on their ancient feud, a bright lone star shimmering above the tallest peak. Roiling clouds of the colors red, dark blue, and purple full of sparks. Tundras and dense forests of birch and spruce blanketed in snow and bathed in the silver light of the moon... The last time I saw Wotan, he was chasing a ship of dark elves across the sea. They had stolen something, but I do not know what.

best song of Sabbath w/Tony Martin, IMHO. Fuck Yeah! 🤘🤘🤘🤘 2:42, after such an intro from another dimension, pure fuckin' rock breaks into the scene and I have multiple headbanging eargasms. GLASS OF WATERRRRRRR PLEEEEEEASE!! Fuuuuuck Yeeeeeah!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘 Totally HFU (hooked the fuck up)!

Tony Martin did a great job on the vocal.. And Cozy Powell on the drums. Headless Cross and Tyr are 2 real great albums... 🙂👍
I've been an Ozzy/Sabbath fan for years and had not 1singlefuckofaclue that this existed until 15 minutes ago
one of the greatest singers of all time
Gary Sharkey agreed. Terribly underrated, too. Makes me sad. This man has one of the best voices imaginable and so few recognize that.
Totally Agreed!
true
Criminally underrated.
Tony is a wonderful vocalist and human being. Of all Sabbath’s Vox since Ozzy, Dio and Tony’s voices were best suited for the music. Ray, RIP, ( not Ian) Gillian was probably the only other notable vocalist

Cozy fucking Powell! 👏👏👏♥♥♥
Here I am 3 years later. Still have not heard anything better.
My favorite of the Tony Martin era albums! Saw them live and he killed it on all vocals.
Best album for me top.
- Geoffrey James Nicholls Rest in Peace 🎹😭🙏
- Colin "Cozy Powell" Trevor Flooks Rip 🎼😭🙏
This album was my entire teenage years. I know every inflection and tone and intention of the vocal line. Call me crazy.
Me too, i know all the drum beats, vocal lines, bass lines, guitar lines since i was 17 (50 now). Even i dont play any instrument. Such a great album!!
Just a f---g amazing album
I'm a huge Tony Iommi and Cozy Powell fan 🤘😎
RIP Cozy... the drums here are like sledgehammers on concrete
ROCK ROCK ROCK
Now do not be sediment
Long live Unca Cozy🤘
Powell and Murray..... Valhalla's rhythm section.

Hindsight is always 20/20.
Bernardo A. García H.
Thank you my friend. This stuff is gold.
This is the best Tony Martin ever. Except for Nightwing
The best Sabbath album post 1980.
Tony Martin . A great singer
Sounds a lot like Dio.
Man, what a great song. The Tony Martin-era Sabbath stuff really is criminally underrated.
i have the entire era of black sabbath with tony martin on vocals. tony martin never got the credit he deserved. i never cared for ozzy osbourne in black sabbath !
The vocals......nobody will ever do this better.
check out a band called warriors path. they singer gives me some heavy tony martin vibes
I've been in love with Tony's voice for 30yrs, and still listen a few times a week.
@@xoxsilentrealmxox same. It’s love story with no end. It’s the greatest voice of all time
Riding the cold... cold... winds of VALHAAALLLLAAAA!
So much powerful !
Pour moi l'un des meilleurs albums de l'ère Black Sabbath.
Tons of Epicness!
One of the most tastefull rock intros ever. I know a lot of people didn't site TYR as real Sabbath (Ozzy slagged this album to no end) but it worked for me! Tony's voice is outstanding
Oz wishes he could phrase and carry a melody like Tony.
Look at Ozzy's work post Sabbath, look at Sabbath's work post Ozzy...They outgrew him.

@@warzIbanez I love Ozzy, but the guy can't sing. He's a performer. This outstrips anything he can do

Especially TYR and Headless Cross are such great albums. And Tony Martin was a great singer, he had a great range and his voice was very powerfull.
Tony Martin's lead vocals are the best thing came out of Black Sabbath!
period! man!
Tbh... he just sounds like he's trying to be Dio... but he can't and... i dunno, i don't think i like him that much cause of how similar he is to Dio, which is kinda shameless
sounds nothing like Dio. Did more good album than dio did with sabbath.@@oliverafton1444
@@oliverafton1444 You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about if you think that his vocals are similar to Dio's
Cozy Powell And Geoff Nichols...R.I.P
tony martin🤩
I admit, I was one of those hardcore Sabbath fans that didn't appreciate this album when it came out. Now I recognize how great it is.
SO glad you joined these songs together so there's no cut between Odin's Court and Valhalla. I've been wanting a version like this forever! Thankyou!
DFR (Damn Fuc*in Right) Brò, like the old LP... what a killer couple. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
What a riff what a song, this entire album fucking slays 🔥🔥🔥🤘
I love Tony Martin
So raise your hands
Reach and Valhalla will save your soul
And raise your eyes
Odin will lead us on
Immer noch eines der besten hardrockbands aller Zeiten mit der besten hardrockstimme.
Ese bajo!! Y el animal de cozzy Powel ,Son demoledores , acompañando ese riff !!! Tony Martin , tremendo vocalista.
I miss great music like this!
I loved this when I was a teenager...the whole album was brilliant
I'm a hip hop head and i've always loved the vocals on this!!!!!
This is the best vocal performance of all time.
a damn shame i can find the ozzy albums everywhere but not this masterpiece

Tony Martin is a so great singer...
When I first heard this I thought it was Ronnie
Thanks to Mister Tony Martin and Cozy Powell!
THANKS FOR TONY FOR KEEPING SABBATH ALIVE
I understand well those who think Tony Martin's Black Sabbath is the best. A very great singer!
And some credit to Neil Murray for those great bass lines.
I think this is genuinely fantastic. Tremendous.
I actually bought this album back in the '90s. I loved it then and I love it now.
We love you Tony!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
OH SHIT, THIS IS NASTY! Tony Martin era was INSANE for Sabbath, there are so many powerfull songs and riffs!
The Sabbath Stones 🙌
Definitely two of my favourite Sabbath songs!
Such a great song!!! One of the best with Tony Martin on vocals!

Best of the Tony Martin era albums IMO 🤔
Super! Thanks! Tony, sing along, Cozy (R.I.P.), drum on....
Great Black Sabbath cd album with Tony Martin
on my knees i am bowing my head down and fearing the raging wrath of the Great Viking Gods! Forever!
This album has some magical moments, probably my favorite post ozzy album.

One hell of an LP.

Thanks Tony Martin !!
It's a shame that he didn't get more credit. Pretty good voice. I know sometimes it's heard to accept another singer in a band but they made a good choice to have him in the band.
Obra prima ❤
TONY MARTIN É FODA! RESPEITEM CADA VOCALISTA QUE PASSOU NO BLACK SABBATH! TODOS TEM SEU PRÓPRIO ESTILO DE CANTAR. NINGUÉM É IGUAL A NINGUÉM!
geraldo cezar silva claro falou tudo irmao !!!
Meu vocalista favorito desta banda. Dio é insuperável, mas Martin é mais versátil!
These songs pretty much blow out anything else from this decade. Tyr is a great album and this is a real highlight.
Grandissimo album tra i migliori dei black sabbath

Ray Gillan was also a bad ass. Rip
