1. Fold the #sunshade in half.
2. Rotate both hands in the opposite direction and You will get a figure 8.
3. Gently twist it push hands together.
4. Now use the elastic straps

The fact that these fold down so compact was half the point of buying it, so I was bound and determined to make it work. Thank you. The description of your hands,/thumbs does make the natural folding then curling motion make sense.
You made it look easy. After about 90 attempts, I’ll leave it unfolded in the rear of my SUV. All these folks are either getting paid for positive feedback because no friggin way this thing is going back

Superb! I applied the Figure-8 idea to the side screens our kit also has to cover the passenger and drive side windows. It all fits nicely into the pocket-like holder.

From time to time I struggle again at the first twist because I turn the left hand in the wrong direction. I helped myself by telling me "to look at the watch" I wear on my left wrist. 😅

Does anyone know what material is used to allow this shade to fold the way it does and unfold to keep the shape? It seems very flexible and sturdy. Just curious what it’s made of.
found another video that is top down from the folder's view...new learners like me have trouble understanding your directions when the view is completely backwards compared to the words.
Can you share that link? That was my problem with this video. To me, he should have had his back to the camera to make it more helpful.
What worked for me is after that 8 i just push my right hand towards my left hand, then hold it with my left hand(the area where I was holding with my right hand), then just shove the remaining part(the area hanging under the left hand)with my right hand. This video just made me insane.

It's harder to put these back in the pouch than it is to collapse them. So I threw away the pouch.

Not a good instruction video. The first step is made very clear, but then the movement is like a magic trick how you get from the initial figure 8 into the small unit capable of going back in the pouch is a mystery.
Even so the plastic frame breaks since it's so cheap when twisted. Chinese junk
