Really great video!! Thanks for uploading! :)
Greets from Poland!
Greeting from Poland.Long live lithuania :)
thanks ;)and greetings to poland our old friend!
ummm what?
Pancerny Husar at least youre one that doesnt say wilno is ours kill lithuanians etc.
Happy New Year
from Poland
I'm from Poland, and i think, that Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was the strongest country in europe in XVI century. Greetings from Poland to our Lithuanian brothers :). BTW Vilnius is Lithuanian city ;)
Thanks
Poland and lithuania the best im from ltu too
Thanks
Imagine HIMARS at that time.. lol
thanks
Nice video.
Greetings from Poland ! :)
@OMUO64 Ačiū už gražius žodžius.
I'm a little bit sad that we lost all that space.....
Well,I'm glad that we still live here and we have a beautiful country!
@DelTevynes I'm Pole and I agree with you. I'm sorry for that if this mean something to you. I think Poland and Lithuania should keep together. It's the pity that conflict over the Vilnius region destroyed the very strong ties between our nations after centuries. Pilsudski never shouldn't do it. Poles today are willing to accept and realize the error of those times. But I dare to say That Lithuanians to not give a chance for reconciliation. But you have the right to do that.
Pabaigoj reikėtų klaidą ištaisyt - II pasaulinio karo metu Lietuva okupuojama pirmiausia SSRS, tada Vokietijos, o tada vėl SSRS
Teisingai ;D
There should be no hate between our nations, together we were great power, we are weak alone. Love from Poland!
Jei čia tokios nesamonės, tai Tamsta galit ir nežiūrėt :) Beje, padorių žemėlapių su lietuvškais pavadinimais gana sunku rasti, ypač senovės Europos.
Kam tu čia rašai?
Slove Lietuvai!!!
Do you regret your past-time connection with Poland? E.g. You say that your people were forced to sign Lublin agreement, were they really? I thought that it was fully voluntary.
Cheerful regards from Lenkija.
@CavalryMillitia
@manestainekaso o tu ka copy ir past darai is maironio eilerasciu ir cia floodini?
@Heke1959 Laba,
Nepamirštu, tiesiog nelabai randu žemėlapių iš to meto :)
We have history, which no one have.
We survived all wars, and We're alive.
"However Vilnius is occupied by Poland" At that time (between 1919 and 1939) About 60% of people living in Vilnius were Polish, about 30% were Jewish and about 7% were Lithuanian.
You mean Polonised lithuanians?
Before the Polish - Lithuanian Union between our countries was a permanent continuous war. I live 5 km from the old border with the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Before the Union was not possible to live there. Lithuanians regularly conducted invasions, burned a couple of times Lublin. And we regularly set out to conquer out the Lithuanians. Every year something was wrong on both sides. After the Pl. -Lt. Union was peace.
Currently, Lithuania goes its own way. We do not intend to disturb you.
Kaledu senelis dovanu parnese?
Aż sprawdzałam dokładnie tą mapę z 1375, jaką podano na filmie. Moje miasteczko leżało jednak po stronie polskiej, więc jestem Koroniarzem. A już taka Biała Podlaska to należała do Litwinów.
A Was mieliśmy dosłownie na karku.
I'm glad that Lietuva exist that day, but I feel deep pain when I read those negative comments about Lenkija. (Also many of those comments, are comming straight from polish mouths)
I know, that Poles occupated Vilnus but it was one of the biggest our mistake and I say sorry about that.
ATSIPRASAU.
Jus pasiziurekit I lenkija ar man vienam ar ji tik ir spraudziasi I tarpelius tarp valstybiu ?
Komentuotojui "Heke 1959":
Lietuva for ever best..
omg. Thanks you autor for this film. Now i know Poland and Lithuania have the same history. And this shit 123 years of Ocupation. Best wishes for independent country. ( Sorry for my English)
@armoras78
Yes I speak English if anybody wants me to translate what I wrote in my posts from Polish to English and post it once again in English - feel free to ask.
So, please, tell the whole story of the Grand Duchy to the world!
Long live :-)
I have no speacil sympathy for Holy Roman Prince Radziwiłł, beliver of Kalvin sect, but Sienkiewicz`s novel and Baltic mythology pays too big attention to his "union" with Sweden.
I don`t have sympathy for the nobility at Ujście either, but Radziwiłł`s action on the back of Chmielnicki deserves some recognition...
Poland, Lithuania, and Ukraine should have cooperated more closely throughout history to repel German and Russian invaders. These three countries would have been much better off today if they learned to put their differences aside to reach a common goal.
I won't reply to your comment about vilnius, but i Just want to make a remark that i'm not nationalist at all. Far from that, I'm studying in different countries, i just have an interest in history and since I need to read a lot, I've learnt that I cannot trust only national resources, which are usually chauvinistic and nationalistic. The most manipulated resources are usually Russian and Polish. I just want to say that I have nothing against your country, we share a large part of common history
It's true, the Grand Duchy was enormous and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth few years later even bigger. ;-)
true lithuania is belarus
Then belarus belongs to Lithuania ...:)
+Lauzhas Užlūžo Invade immidietly :D
+Lauzhas Užlūžo xDD
Still it is Poland, like old good times :)
After reading the coments of angry polaks and letuvis i have no doubts who established Lithuanian state and have long history of state organizations , Yes Belarusians or Litvins or Tuteishie.
+Lygis tribes who without help of Kraków would be a fresh meat for nazis (teutonic order, ancestors of nazis), mongols and Russians (Nowogród and Moskwa)
+Aleksander Julian Gronowski polacy to belarusiny -litwiny after asimilation from Bohemi and moravi. Povernice na Bialostok?
+Aleksander Julian Gronowski actually krakovia with Mazovia invited Teutons in Prussia lands and catholic polaks were friends with teutonik knights. Get your fact strait polak.
It's really difficult for a Pole to like Lithuanians nowadays. Why does your government want to shut polish schools even though polish people are the biggest minority in your country? You're really lucky our government is less firm than russian one. Otherwise, green men would be crossing your border now.
Mobilone Green men would be crossing our border, while whole europe and nato would be crossing your's :) and you say Vilnius is your's, that's not true
Benas Kinderis I didn't say that, and anyone who isn't blinded by nationalism can confirm that Vilnius is rightfully yours. But how you treat polish minority leaves much to be desired.
Now poland and lithuania shouldnt be arguing, while we would be fighting, russia would just come and kill us, then what?? we will argue with drunk russians -.-
Mobilone Stop watching berlin's media you idiot! Lithuanians have same right to hate poles. We were brothers in history for 400 years, but know you eat berlin-moscow propaganda and you hate each other.
Our nationalism you dumb man is Commonwealth not just poland, poland was never strong when single, never. Lithuanians are our brothers same like belarusian people and some of ukrainians too.
Idiots in poland supported of course by moscow or berlin created this stupid new nationalism where you talk about polish nation. Our pros were always that we could connected many nations in middle europe without enslaving them like a russians or germans. Really, people, open you eyes!!! Stop eating their propaganda.
Waldek Waldek Do you really believe that by calling me an idiot you can convince me to anything? You seem to still sit in the past.
While I know and respect history of our nation I am more worried about our contemporary relations which are not good. And Commonwealth was not a nation it was a union of nations.
How could Poland occupy its own land and city Wilno?
@TheErelis ka tu man norejai pasakyt?prie ko cia as:),bet jau kalbele tavo kas antras zodis rusiskas keiksmazodis...tu gal rusas?:)
You could really argue about that number of Poles in Vilnius. Poles say that they were Poles, but if you know anything about history you know the rate of Polonization in lithuania during 15-16th century and most of those "poles" are polonised lithuanians.
GDL originated from Balt tribes in Lithuania not Belarus. Belarus was conquered territory and nothing else.
@beklanis Don`t think too much, read more, for example about the "Reciprocal Guarantee of Two Nations".
Same way it is in EU now, proportional representation, dependent on a population of a member state but of course present Lithuania don`t have 1/3 of representants...
labai blogai sukaltas filmukas, net bloga žiūrėt į montažą - silpnai ir skubotai daryta. Jei nesugebi - nedaryk! Jei tai TYČIA, tada… Tokie Lietuvos istorijos “pristatymai” tik suvulgarina idėją. Apskritai daug kas supaprastinta arba nutylėta (tyčia?)
I may not understand the words (american) but I know this is about lithuania's history my grandfather came from there after world war 2. It was one of the greatest duchy ever and one of the oldest.
Hello, occupied by Poland? For centuries it WAS one country!
Thank you Žilvinas Radavičius
@karolis141
The Mongol Golden horde had a deal with Vytautas that he would become the Duke, and eventually the King of all Rus Dutchys including Moscow. I dont think it was necessary to join Poland to fight off the Teutonic order. GDL could have become so powerful, we may have even annexed Poland afterwards. Oh an with Belarus... In history books Vytautas, all - ways considered himself Balt Lithuanian, and Litvin was simply the nationality of GDL, but he recognized the Belorussians as slavic Ruthenians.
@VideoShmideo1 No settlers moved, read the Russian pre-WWI census and the German census, Poles or Polish speaking Lithuanians were there majority ALREADY and same goes even for Kaunas, which you just colonised with Baltic settlers in the interwar period. Even Żeligowski and Piłsudski were Lithuanians and always considered themselves so...
They didn`t wanted to be in some German puppet state, nor in soviet Lit-Bel or whatever, but in restored "Res Publica". Do you understand??
Jesteśmy to winni naszym Praojcom.

If people would stop insulting each other perhaps you would have more time for real discussion and discovery.
Long live Lietuva, the proud country and proud nation! Best regards from Poland :)

Well done. It is difficult to find videos of this story. Thanks, from Argentina!
Lithuania is cool.

Im from Ukraine.
We love Lithuanians here. ;)
Hello my friend, greetings from Lithuania!
Hello friend, I'm from Lithuania and I send best wishes to you!🇱🇹❤️🇺🇦
A little mistake - In 1918 Vilnius was yours. Wilno was ours from 1920 (Želigovskio maištas), officially from 1923.
Good work thought ;)
Nice video. Greetings from Poland ;)
I want it to be mighty as in the past
Kaliningradas mūsų!
Ne
GDL was an awesome and powerfull country the only problem was the fact, that there too many enemies against it(Turks, tatars,Muscovites(Russians),Polish.Grand Duchy of Lithuania was an unique nation:It honored human rights in the Middleage!Lithuanians were the only ones who had Ukrainian territory and didnt threat us like animals. That is why there were no uprisings in Ukraine during 1362-1569.After that Polish had some lovelly time killing rebelions almost every 10 years(1590,1594,1625,1630,1635,1637-1638,1648,1651,1702,1768) xD Nice video man, like.
OrkosUA Yes. Grand Duchy of Lithuania should have helped Novgorod.. Lithuanian troops raided Moscow many times... I am not so sure why Vytautas did not finish off Muscovy when we had the chance, with our Belarussian and Ukranian friends.
1MuchButteR1 mistakes for which we all had to pay for hundreds of years later...
OrkosUA I am sure Polish Noble Men had something to do with it... They prevented Duke Vytautas from receiving his crown and becoming King, and establishing the Great Kingdom of Lithuania.
1MuchButteR1 It can be possible.Had Vitovt Muscovian and Lithuanian army - he would have had enough power to crush anyone who could attack Lithuania. So he wouldn't have needed to accept Unia of Lublin. And thus Lithuania would have been powerful and independent for good.Great Kingdom of Lithuania...sounds awesome. But wait, didn't Mindaug had the crown? Then why did his son rejected that title? And by the way,why do you call Belarus Gudiya and Germany Vokietiya?Just interesting why.
OrkosUA We call Belarus Gudija probabaly because we have long common history with them , and I think it sounds nicer than calling them "White-Russians." For Germany.. I heard there was a tail that a Samogitian (Low land Lithuanian) tried to kill/knock out a captured German. So the Samogitian had to hit him over the head like 4 times before the German was knocked out. The Samogitian said... "Vo... Kiets." "Vo" meaning "how/very," and "kiets" is a Samogitian pronunciation for "kietas" which means strong/hard. In conclusion you can say that Germany in Lithuanian means "strong" land.
To all Polish/Belarussian trolls. Have you seen the maps that show expansion of Lithuania? First expansions occupies Lida,Grodno, Ashmeny not even Minsk. The core of Lithuania was from Kaunas to Lida. 1918 borders of Lithuania should be restored.
you have a point man, but Poles was ones to occupy our capital not us, and to all those brainwashed Poles who think that Vilnius is their city TELL ME WHO BUILT VILNIUS? (YES LITHUANIANS)
***** 1-2% are you kidding? That story has been long confirmed to be Polish inter war governments hoax. Because why would crowds of thousands welcome Lithuanian army when Vilnius was liberated?

***** Lol yeah whatever you say, the majority city support for integration with Lithuania must have been some unexplained miracle. And you should just be happy that Lithuanians allowed for the remaining Poles to stay unlike Ukraine who deported all the Poles from Lviv region.
***** That's one way to put something out of context. And believe what you want, makes 0 difference.
***** so if now hundreds of thousands of lithuanians go to Warsaw we make the majority of that city we can claim like its ours? as i told don't forget who built Vilnius!!
Ruthenian=Belarusian
At what those links have to with this? There is actually written what i said.
And yeah there was baltic tribes like Suduviai and others but there was no such a baltic tribe like "lithuanians" lithuanians wasn't baltic. And if Belarus was "annexed" to Lithuania why it was the main language. Your argument have no sense. Belarus wasn't annexed to Lithuania it was Lithuania. And people who fought with teutonic order was mostly Poles and Lithuanians(Belarusians)
this video is created by lithuanian not polish
Karlas Zuzickas and? you're saying that Lithuanian lands always belonged to you? It's OUR history too, thank you very much.
From where did Lithuanian culture and language (older than any slav language) come from? By your propaganda version, it seems modern Lithuanians appeared out of no where after World War 1. Also you only talk about Samogitians, which is only 1 of the 4 ethnic Lithuanian groups. If Belarus was the true Lithuania in your historical maps, why were the main cities part of modern day Lithuania such as Vilnius and Trakai. Why was Minsk a small village that wasn't on Western maps?
@Divirix1 Pridėti ir angliški komentarai :)
However, the dispute over Vilnius seems stupid for me. Vilnius' roots are lithuanian, even culturally Vilnius is not polish, they just brought different styles of architecture from europe, it's not specifically polish. Also there were no poles crying for polish "liberation" in vilnius. I myself am from kaunas (kowno), but the other half of my family is from vilnius. My grandpa spoke both polish and lithuanian and he was telling me about polish speaking lithuanians who ran to kovno after pol-ocu
Wow. Thanks :)
O kur dingo laikotarpis nuo 1009 iki 1209 metu? :)
Not always... Lithuania was completely separate from Poland before union and strong too... when we signed the union we had the same government but boarders between the crown and Grand duchy still existed... It was never completely united state... even the military was commanded by Lithuanian dukes, and by Polish Kings separately.
In 1450, Poland looked as shit against Lithuania.
Lietuvos Patriotas In Poland were more cities and villages and we polonisated you. Now Lithuania look like polish region (something like Wielkopolska, Małopolska or Mazowsze). And it true but Lithuania were something like polish province.
***** hey whats poland is it a russian village
Lithuania is something like polish toilet.
***** nah warsaw is toilet and krakow is dumpyard
***** Polish history are shit against our great history, battles (Žalgirio, Durbės).
Samogitia is just one etnical region of nowdays Lithuania in north-west near baltic sea. Samogitians are originated from samogitian group of tribes, but there was more baltic tribes than samogitia, like aukstaitians, yotvingians (sudovians), Curonians, prussians.... Go and learn something abuot balts and Lithuania, than write comments.
Lithuania + Belarus = Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
Stay strong balt brother.

beja, dar vienas pastebejimas, lenkai okupuoja vilniu 1919 o ne 1918 kaip pavaizduota zemelapyje. Beto buvo galima isskirti lenku is LDK perimtas teritorijas unijos metu, Klaipedos krasto ir VIlniaus krasto atgavimo datas, bei teritoriju kaita nepriklausomybes kovu metu. O siaip - tikrai geras video - pagirtina.
1:19 was the best time for all......
Well go study some more, Lithuanian is related to Sanskrit language much older than any modern slav language and GDL is Lithuanias heritage.
I don't understand the wars between Poland and Lithuanian (yes, I know there were many conflicts, like occupying Vilnius etc., but it's already 21th century! Get over it! I'm Czech and I love Lithuania, but Poland as well, so it really annoys me.
