Nah man the clear problem with colt is that he has 2 guns but only 1 holster.
The problem with colt is that he has such a quick reload speed and you can't not get hit by him at least once. This gives him a huge capability of winning the lane
"Problem" implies its something that needs to be fixed. Well, try nerfing the reload speed which is already a tradeoff for another gadget, or try nerfing anything in its kit, he's gonna die. The actual problem lies in your skill level.

You really can dodge every shot. Dodging the first bullet is the same as dodging everyone else's shot. And colt has low range and a thin bullet compared to a brock or piper.

As a Colt main I agree with basically the whole video. At times he feels unplayable but man is it great when you hit all 12 shots with the super. He's amazing in Heist and Knockout, but falls off a lot in other modes. He's probably the most mechanically simple brawler, yet one of the hardest to master. Great video.

Explanation for Pokemon players: Colt’s high attacking stat is offset by his poor defensive stats, the problem is that the damage is easily preventable through abusing Colt’s go to moves volatile accuracy, making it feel like a multihit move without loaded dice.

Reload speed gears existence is weird to me and is a must use. Colt getting to spam is what people don’t like. They should probably make it work like healing. Faster reload if you aren’t shooting or taking damage.

Brawl is suffering from what league or overwatch had. Extremely large rosters which are hard to balance. Some brawlers are just too strong for pros so it's better to balance for them
As a colt main at 1000 trophies - If not for goalkeepers dream and almost any heist map, I would not be able to get past 600 trophies........

Colt is the highest skill cap brawler to play with and against. But brawl stars knows not everyone is perfect so Colt has to have slightly better stats than necessary to make him fun to play

@@kingshark422 That's not a fair comparison. Skill cap isn't about one's dmg or how good they are in the meta. These brawlers (Colt, Dyna and Mortis) were regarded as high skill cap brawlers despite each having a long history of being absolutely terrible. It didn't disqualify brawlers before and shouldn't now.

I'm glad you brought up tanks being bad. I don't play tanks often but when I do I get in a good position by closing the gap between me and the enemy brawlers and then I think I can win because I'm right next to them and I have 10,000 health. But instead I get instantly melted before I can even get off a second attack.

Maybe talking how dominant they were in early BB, the entire class becoming near useless because of Surge and Colette being added to the game, Poco double tank being utter cancer back in 2021, and how the Tank trait and HC's being added impacted them. if your style is about single brawlers, maybe Buster is also a good candidate on its own

thank you so much! i'll keep your advice in mind for the future, but a lot of the most famous brawlers are the lowest rarity brawlers, so for now, we wont change it.
I'm a big Colt fan and is one of my mains for sure, reading some comments I saw many people saying they use the movement speed starpower and I've always used the range one, imo it's better for me at least since I can start doing damage earlier and it's easier to hit too, amazing video also man!!!

Modes like heist and siege make these brawlers like colt viable as the safe stays still and it is essentially a damage check.
Yes, you're actually right. Playing against people lower than your skill level is absolutely easy for Colt mains like me. But to sum it all up, you can't win every single match you play, no matter how overpowered a brawler is. I'd say The Silver gadget just fell off because Colt can charge his super easily to destroy walls, the extra ammo is very good and changes many interactons with colt. Back in the days, the silver gadgest was overpowered... I'm a rank 32 Colt main and i usually play against pros, i win about 8/10 of the matches i play (with randoms because i have no friends that play brawl stars). The thing that made Colt much more versatile than Carl and maybe even stronger than him in the hands of a good player is because of his reload gear, his star power which increases his movement speed, and his incredibly high damage output. Since i've been maining Colt for almost 3 years, usually every pro i face against is equal in skill to me , Long range brawlers can be a weakness for colt but because of his star power, its much easier to dodge and get shots in (while strafing).
But yes, i have faced many players in the past that had a higher skill cap than me , and it felt like Colt was absolute garbage. But with determination and practice , i mastered colt and he isn't that bad as you think. His hypercharge only helps a little bit in the gameplay, trust me.
Edit: Okay maybe Colt's hypercharge may be the reason he is still versatile now. But without his gear and starpower , he's absolutely trash
The best build for Colt in my opinion , is his second gadget which gives two ammos , slick boots which gives him 11 percent more movement speed (With this starpower , colt is actually equal to the speed of Max with the super, don't believe me? Try it on the training grounds) his gears are most obvious, the reload gear and the shield gear since he's very fragile or the damage gear. The reload gadget is for finishing the enemy, charging your super and catch the enemy off guard when both of them are low in ammo , it also helps against tanks near you since you can annihialate them before you almost die (that's who i recomend shield gear), the slick boots helps you to dodge and get your shots in while starting, i dont think I need to explain the gears.
This is the aggressive build for colt and is currently the best build , but if you're just starting out , here's the build for colt
Silver gadget (To open the map early and get more shots), Magnum opus (increases range by 11 or 13%) and the same gears
This Build is passive aggressive, but don't use the gadget for hitting the enemies , only for opening the map early. The increased range by 11 % gives you a good chance against long range brawlers.
I would agree that he was trash up until he got a reload speed buff. The punishment for missing a shot isn't close to severe anymore. This is still due to having a gear and charge bit a lot of brawlers depend on such. A lot of pros think he's just fine. Not S tier but definitely a good option in multiple scenarios. One of the best in heist and relatively balanced in many other modes. I wish they hadn't buffed his reload speed lol
great guide to playing colt! I personally prefer the wall break and longer range, but for higher skilled players such as yourself, the other combination is likely the better one.

@@MythicalForce27Trust me , play with slick boots and see for yourselves. You'll dodge almost every shots like Max. You can also get your shots in while strafing with this starpower. The gadget is optional , and it also depends on the map. But reload gadget helps Colt more as it can help against near death situations.. The Silver Gadget was actually good back then, because it did more damage than Colt's 1 ammo bar, and it was incredibly fast as well. But supercell nerfed it and now it made the reload gadget almost better than the silver gadget
Just play with the first starpower for a few days and you'll see what I mean.
The problem with colt is that piper can 2 shot with the same or more range, has better reload, getaway options, and close range combat

As a r30 colt main (😎) it also really depends on Which map u use colt. For colt to be really effective, the map really Needs to be open. If There is 1 wall in the open it is really hard to hit Ur shots because that one single wall can be very usefull to not get hit by shots. I pushed colt on goalkeepers dream Where u really can pop off because There were No walls in the middle lane (before they Changed it) this Made colt easier to play because the middle lane was also the most important lane. Nevertheless you also Need good skill to play colt to become a God with him.

Unfortuntely this is a problem in any game that wants to be long term. Like yugioh, pokemon, runeterra, league of legends. Each one of these games has had their power creeps where the company every year just ups the life points/ mechanics/ etc. And makes creates a meta where everyones playing thid type of deck/character and makes the older stuff forgotten.

I think colt needs a rework or something similar. As a colt main, he really is inconsistent. One match I'll get star player and a great kd and the next match ill be 2 kills and 7 deaths.

Chuck is just poorly designed, he sucks completely in many modes and is godlike in heist. The competitive scene has bans whilst ranked and trophy doesnt. Just this 1 brawler and collete's insane dmg completely flips the meta of heist over...

It's not really about his Damage but how much he can connect
When I 1v1 Against My Friends, even those who are newer to the game, Colt 1v1 s take the longest, because its so easy to juke, and its also hard to predict, I mean if they Increase Bullet speed and reduce Damage I think he will be good more all around
He is only really viable in heist really since all the other Brawlers can easily juke him

the problem with making him easier to play is that colt's popularity largely derives itself from his skill cap, so reducing that would hurt his popularity. he's also a big seller of skins, so it affects a lot of their skin monetization

This kinda sounds like a skill issue, when playing colt, you should try to trick your opponents into walking towards your shots, like shooting right, then left, so they'll try to dodge towards where you'll shoot the second wave of bullets.
yeah, as someone with a r25 colt, predicting opponent's movements is the most important part of playing colt, so that can turn a lot of people away from pushing him high
@@MythicalForce27 also, I feel like people who main high skill floor brawlers like Colt, Nani etc. are way more skilled at base parts of the game, like dodging or predicting, which makes it good for everyone to play these brawlers once in a while instead of sticking with the easier Edgars and Fangs.

i wasn't very clear in the presentation, my bad, let me elaborate on that. I also contradicted myself a bit in the presentation, so let me set the record straight.
A noobstomper brawler is a brawler who relies on mechanics that lower ranked opponents may struggle with. For example, lower ranked opponents don't realize that you should get out of Frank's attack range to avoid being hit by the attack, while in the case of a brawler like Willow, you can't just brainlessly attack the enemy and expect them to die, because dodging Willow's attacks is pretty easy, and Willow dies easily as well.
In the case of Colt, his buffs in both reload speed and damage have made it such that you can just spray and pray, and the enemy will die. It's assumed that you have a skill advantage over the other person, but if the win/loss scenario becomes more likely to come true as you go down ranks, then it's more likely that the brawler in question is a noobstomper brawler.
Of course, by this definition, every single brawler is a noobstomper. That's why I adjusted the definition to be an excessive use of this tactic, and why Colt is a noobstomper brawler while Willow isn't. I should've clarified that in the video, but I feel that would've created too much of a tangent. The fact still remains, though, that since Colt is so terrible to face for newer players, it affects how much he can realistically be buffed without being too broken at those lower tiers.

i think they made the correct decision with reload speed, but attack damage along with that is a bit overkill. in order to make him more consistent in pro play while keeping his inconsistent shots, i'd rather they decrease attack damage rather than reload speed.
but then again, colt is honestly fine the way he is right now. like, he has a niche in heist (which is getting more and more uncompetitive by the second), and if a brawler works and it sells well, i'd rather not touch it out of fear of decreasing those sales. a lot of people play brawl and play colt exclusively, just to get better with him.

@@pinkuminto the idea of balancing around the competitive aspect of brawl is to make brawlers manageable to deal with at a higher level of play, when mastery with that brawler has theoretically been reached. if a brawler is manageable to deal with at higher levels of play, then it's realistic for a lower-level player who keeps getting defeated by this brawler to get better at the game and defeat the brawler.

i respect your opinion, but as someone who plays colt a lot, there is a gigantic difference between good and bad colt players, showing that there is at least a degree of skill involved. I believe that prediction is the most important skill with being good with Colt, and that is extremely skill-based, and not luck based.
i mean of course in a vacuum the enemy can either stay put, move left, or move right and depending on what you pick you may hit them, so that's a 33% chance. the skill lies in analyzing their movement before the shot and determining which direction they're most likely to move in, effectively increasing that chance.

@SqquareLord if the brawler is prediction based, it's just another word to say luck based (against even skilled opponents), because you would hit your opponent as much as they would (very theoretically because of match-ups and all), though colt is the most glasscanon character among the cast due to the even more unlikely chance to hit an average clip, whereas even 8-bit has a more stable attack due to its movement speed and its little lasers being easier to hit that a single colts bullet; and glass canon characters are the most absurd ones among others due to their lack of consistency/balance

What exactly makes colt easier to doge than for example piper? I mean with the magnum special starpower he has the exact same range like piper and an even faster projectile speed.
his attacks are really telegraphed, and colt has a longer unload speed than piper. since his damage is split into 6 bullets, you might only hit 1-2, and since the enemy can dodge depending on where you're shooting, you might not even hit those.
His projectile size is puny compared to piper's.
