- With access to the Kiwaya KS-1, Kiwaya KSU-1L, and Martin S1, I decided to do a comparison with these three instruments.

Chris - Three lovely ukes. I would be thrilled to own any one of them. Thank you for the comparison. Rick
I tripped into a Martin Concert 2 recently; and will someday review it against the new Martin OXK Concert and a friend’s Martin C1K (Mexico made…which is what I was actually looking for at the time). I also have the Flight MUC-2 on hand, and would like to review the Ohana Martin Concert replica as well. I’ll see if I can arrange that!
Informative as ever. Thank you.
You are very welcome!
Nice Comparison Chris,
I watched this with a good set of headphones so I could better appreciate the subtle differences in the instruments.
I really like the sound of both of the Kiwayas. Making the KSU-1L a long neck really helps add fullness to its sound. All three are nice. I agree the KS-1 Sounds really nice. Now that I have heard all 3, I would personally be inclined to get the KSU-1L for its value to performance ratio and the longer scale.
Thanks! Another post said that these are much cheaper in Japan than in the US, both the student and Eco models.
By the way, I picked up a used Blackbird Clara and love it. If it isn’t my favorite overall ukulele, it is tied. Your encouragement on that model helped me to justify that decision! 😀
@@UkeStuff Thanks, that is nice to hear. The Clara definitely sounds nicer than the Farallon.
Depending on which Favilla you want there is Double Bout on ebay right now.🙂
