@@Teestar519 I honestly was hesitant at first. I guess it depends on what you're use to? If you do eat meat/pork, it was a Hormel ham. And, it is definitely NOT like your fresh/smoked non-canned hams, because canned hams are cooked in the can. When I finally broke down and decided to give it a try, I looked at it as a relative of SPAM. I enjoy SPAM on occasion. I just took the ham, washed off the gelatine (which bothers me a smidgen, and I think removes some of the smell), put it into a small greased dish, scored it and put the glaze over it. I baked the glaze on the ham as I heated it up. I was delighted to find that it was better than SPAM and of an acceptable quality. Don't get me wrong, I can buy hams that are more affordable by the #, so I don't go out and buy SPAM (over $5 # & before the price of bacon went up) or canned hams on a regular basis. But, I think they are better than people generally think.
@@Teestar519 I do slice it thinly. I have also fried it in a pan. I only eat it cold after I have baked it...I know that might sound weird. I have never chunked it or ground it for salads, but I'm sure it would be just as good. The consistency was solid processed. It doesn't look like a pieced together deli ham. I think deli hams are process similarly, but are cooked in a heavy duty plastic.

@@Teestar519 Well you and I have a lot more in common than you thought LOL, I’ve lost my father unexpectedly a few years ago as well. April 28, 2018. I miss my father dearly, we were very close and had a wonderful relationship. My Lord Jesus took the pain away after I couldn’t bear it anymore. After about A month and a half of unbearable grief, I prayed for the Lord to just take all the pain away, and He did. I think about my father every day, we have very fond memories. I’m so sorry for your loss, you have someone that knows just how it feels. I hope you have a wonderful day and God bless you and your family.
Lilly... bless your heart... honey... most people eat what they have available to survive... and making it a little nicer than simple canned ham is what makes it not as horrible... sometimes you gotta know what battles to fight and what ones to just not bother with... and people eating what they have access to is one you will never win... while I dont personally consume pork cause just no... im not gonna go to the internet and crap all over someone trying to make their little slice of the world a better place... and I suggest you don't either... because at some point people are going to start being mean and hateful in return...
