    What is the point of adding this metadata if you can then delete the inserted data with the same program?
    It's very important to insert the ISRC code, but if someone doesn't want to identify the tracks works for the rights, just use the same program to remove all the tags you inserted, right?

    • @TheMusicBusinessMadeEasy
      @TheMusicBusinessMadeEasy  5 місяців тому

      The most beneficial part of embedding (in my opinion), is for radio who can immediately call up needed information for airplay. They still may ask for you to submit it anyway. The most important thing to do is to properly register all of the necessary metadata with all of the appropriate music industry databases embedded or not.
      Why would anyone want to take the time to import and edit info just to remove information that’s not theirs and won’t affect the music in any way, unless it’s the owner who wants to change something before sending it out? Even with embedding, song registration is key, and most important. Embedding is convenient. You don’t have to do it if you’re fearful or afraid.

    • @AforismiDAutoreAD
      @AforismiDAutoreAD 5 місяців тому

      @@TheMusicBusinessMadeEasy The reason is simply: the ISRC in broadcasting is used to riceive own right (PRO) on the track that are passed on air. If some broadcating radio don't want to pay for the on air they simply remove tag you have inseted in it. ;)

    Thank you for this video!
    Does embedding WAV files like this make sure that you get your royalties paid correctly when you are sending your WAV to radio stations or for sync licenses? I've often heard not all radio stations can pick up on this.
    I've recently been told that "It depends on the stations play-out software. Some of them have their own meta data chunks like CART (ENCO DAD) and SCOT (Scott Systems and Wideorbit). It is possible to add ID3 (Same meta data as in MP3 files) to WAV files, but not many applications actually read them."
    Is what you've done here enough to make sure your files get properly recognised by other people in the music industry?
    Thanks!

    • @TheMusicBusinessMadeEasy
      @TheMusicBusinessMadeEasy  10 місяців тому +1

      You’re welcome! Proper song registration is the way to ensure that songs are properly matched to the correct owners. This is an added bonus with having internal metadata embedded within the song itself.

I've got a song ready to go, got copyrights, registered with my PRO and I have an ISWC number generated but don't know what to do with the ISWC number after I have received it. Do I have to embed it into the WAV file of a song, like how you've done with ISRC in this video? If so then how is that supposed to be done because I don't see ISWC written anywhere for me to fill it in? I know the distribution takes care of ISRC (I have distrokid) and they automatically assign the ISRC so I don't have to worry about it.
    I also wanted to know if I am missing anything in terms of collecting all the royalties and such?
    - Got copyrights
    - Got registered with PR ( Socan, I live in Canada)

      Stuart Thorpe the most important metadata is the writer/publisher info and the codes: ISRC, upc etc. they only distribute. That’s why the rest of the info is given in other registrations. Your other credits are done with your marketing and promotional efforts. When you copyright, that’s where the production credits are given. I wouldn’t over think it. Just be thorough each step of the way.

    Hey so I have a question I’m trying to understand this isrc stuff. Say when I start using a distributor and releasing music thru there. For the songs that I have on my UA-cam official audio song a lyric video song. Will the songs from my distributor locate my stuff on UA-cam since it will be in my distributor content ID/ISRC? Also, say I release a song with my distributor then afterwards I do an actual music video and post it on my UA-cam, will the isrc from my distributor/Pro locate my song and then connect it together? So then I’ll be able to see my video claim by my distributor with the word ASCAP combined? And one last thing, when you talk about medata and adding the info and the isrc code inside, Would I have to do it every time I upload a video to UA-cam using my distributor isrc? And for videos I already uploaded to my UA-cam it would be to late to try this method

      If you use your distributor to monetize for you on youtube, they will upload your music. You can also upload your own music. Once you have registered your song where it should be registered, you'll be fine. No, you won't have to do it every time. Once your code is assigned to your song and you have registered your song, everything is set.

      Lil Ed if you choose their administrative division like CD Baby Pro etc yes they will handle the registrations. You’re welcome.

      The Music Business Made Easy yeah I signed up for songtrust for that reason, just getting my self prepared before I start using a distributor. I joined ASCAP as my pro thru songtrust. U think I should sign up for sound scan after I release my music and music report? I know Harry fox is related with Songtrust so there’s no point for that one. As for soundscan, I’m thinking of it should be used when u know you’ll have a big audience in fans to start using it. I think u pay around 2 bucks to register a song. Once I signed up for your course by the end of this month I will be very prepared n more knowledgeable on the music business side. When I make it I’m future ima be sure I give u my thanks and let people know about u the world...1luv

      Lil Ed Songtrust is good for your publishing admin info. You are set. If you use your distributor for UA-cam monetization, anything you personally upload UA-cam will discover through content ID. Watch my video on UA-cam strikes vs content ID. You are set up on.

    hello and thank you for sharing this. I just purchased SG and I did all of these but when I open my (converted) track on iTunes was still writing 'unknown Artist'. When I click in Get Info on desktop option I can see the metadata though. Do you have any idea why?

      You’re welcome! What distributor did you use for distribution? The info shroud have transferred. No, unfortunately I don’t know why that happened.

      I didn’t use any distributor. I just added some metadata info and I convert it but I can’t see my name as an artist on iTunes. What do you mean distribution ?

      I actually tried it on a mp3 and it worked. Is it because it’s wav format?

      @@andriamariakounna2217 perhaps I misunderstood you. Are you saying you opened the iTunes app to try to see the metadata? I thought you released the song. I was asking what digital distributor did you use to distribute to iTunes etc.
