Right on Jason! I am glad I was able to summit with you on your first. Those chili cheese pastrami fries at the end were well deserved. Till the next one take care.
Great Job!! super views throughout the video, really beautiful when you are on the trail and we see all those mtns around you. love the gps stuff the link is great to be able to check out too. That looks really tough, you should be more than ready for Whitney i think. Comedy, turns out i'll be on the mtn same day as Tuba Solo!
Awesome video, some friends and I tried to make it to Cucamonga Peak yesterday but only made it to Kelly. It was our first attempt at trying to reach a summit so I think we did pretty well. Stayed overnight at Kelly and there was water there. My pack weighed 27 pounds. Next time im going to find a way to make it lighter.
I went last year late October due to the early snow I had to turn around at the bottom of the 99 switch backs. but I was lucky the year before to get a permit in early September and I was able to make the summit.
By the time we hit the trail it was almost 8 AM and got back about 8:30 PM. We took our time going up and made a few stops, and really enjoyed our time at the summit.
Do you have a hiking club for others to join? I want to explore this area being I live in Rancho Cucamonga. I hear there is a world war 2 Japanese camp in the area. Do you know about this?
I dont know about the WW2 Camp. Where did you hear about it from? We do all belong to this FB group and hike are posted up here: facebook.com/groups/309274152803098/?ref=bookmarks

Do you simply follow a trail to the top or is it difficult to navigate?
Yep there is trail the whole way. It's a pretty popular trail so you should be able to find the route no problem.
What was the total amount of time for You? When did you arrive at ice house beginning?
This was a few years ago, but all i remember is we started early and took our time which made it an all day trip.
