I water them once every two weeks and it seems like it is almost too much... I use Aloe Vera juice to really make them rot proof... and charcoal helps a lot! for anyone who wants to ensure a healthy Lophophora. Charcoal added to whatever your soil mix already is, and using Aloe juice not only makes the roots grow fast but keeps the Lophophora from splitting with the faster growth... My Lophophora that are watered with Aloe juice grow just as fast as a grafted Lophophora on PC Rootstock. Thanks for the video Lyn,... Happy growing from the middle of the melting pot! I am the melting pot mascot!!!

Great tips Lyn😊🙏It's been hot, sunny 35/37℃ daily and not much rain until this week because it's the start of the typhoon Season. The humidity is always high no matter, and I only water twice a month because of the humidity. Humidity and watering often kill cacti fast unless they are Notocactus, Echinopsis or Trichocereus then they actually love humid hot-as-can-be weather👍Winter is contrary to our Summer Lyn. It is almost like a desert: Sunny and dry with sporadic rain, and the nights freeze in midwinter, so my cacti actually still need a watering every month because they can actually die from being dry for over three months with 30% humidity, and if they survive they are set back many months to grow a new root system. That can take most of the Spring for them to get their health back. Yes, it's so difficult to advise people how to water cacti when we live in such different climates, and even within a country the climates can vary. I enjoyed watching Lyn😊🙏💖💯🌵

So happy you loved the video on the Loph watering Newman :-D and it really is amaizng how different all of our climates and environments can be for our cacti, and it must be so different in Japan with the weather and humidity, and wow with just 30% humidity in winter, its always a dilemma when people ask us about how to water cacti as it can vary so much depending on all the different things, thanks so much Newman for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Japan for a terrific Thursday evening XXXX

Excellent video as always, Lyn, so good to be stressing your point that 'one size will not fit all' and that one definitely has to adapt the watering amount and frequency to the weather! Also of course, the type of substrate and pots one is using, plus the individual location of the plant (e.g. very sunny vs. in the shade), etc. Great video!!
