👍 Plain text now in code blocks: I’ve also been using the code block for other things than code, and was a bit annoyed that when they introduced code formatting for different code languages, they didn’t include plain text as an option. But just now when I tried out the code block again while watching your video - there it was; plain text formatting in all its glory! :-)
So I can keep using the code block for non-code use (even though I have to manually chose Plain text as ”language”, as English text is interpreted as Visual Basic .NET when set to Auto).

💚 Thank you for sharing this with the community! I'm not complaining at all, but Evernote has been moving so fast that it's been difficult to keep up with everything that's new.

    (You asked....)
I'm liking the new Pinned notes feature, though as I explained elsewhere the implementation needs to be improved. I use it to pin task lists to the top of different notebooks as well as things that I would normally keep in my shortcuts like my current focus list, reading list etc. In my 'knowledge' notebook I pin MOCs (Maps of content). I treat notebook as contexts (not folders) - so when I switch to a new context it is nice to have these things sorted to the top. Shortcuts are useful, but don't have this 'focusing' ability. Before pinned notes, I would use Evernote's sort order to get things to sort to the top (like putting - or . or _ in front of the name), but I'd have to sort my list by name to make it work.
I've been wanting links to headers for a long time now and I use it a lot. I generally create fewer but longer notes and It very useful for me to link to a header in the middle of a note from another note and be able to jump directly to that spot. Also the related feature of putting a table of context at the top of the note is also something I have wanted for ever. Evernote's current link to header implementation feels like an un-finished hack though. When you paste a header link in a note you get a cryptic guid like (evernote:///view/15651/s1/5f2fed86d0-d169-6756-bf22-1a21ec421b1f#d7513dc-629d-40e6-bb28-5700e2027922/8d550e99-f031-4c9d-9b05-67666ase3df1ad/). Horrible. They should use Obsidian as an example and just use the name of the note and the header name like this: `My other note name > header name`. Simple. Another great Obsidian feature is embedded notes (where you embed a heading into another note). Evernote could do something by using their link 'preview' feature to give show you a snipped of the other note starting at the linked header. I've made these suggestions to them, but maybe if others jumped on as well??
Also while we are on the subject of links, can they please, please return note links back to the color green??!! When I'm scanning through a note it is very important to me to be able to quickly tell the difference between an external link and a note link. They broke this in the last couple of months and it is driving me crazy. (In other note taking apps, external and internal links are visually different).
Another feature I really like is collapsable headers. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do. I don't find it that useful when writing code, but for my long notes I use it all the time!
Finally I like the recent feature that lets you create a new linked note from within another note. During the day I primarily capture stuff into a single daily note and at the end of the day I move some thing out into their own notes and replace them with a link. This feature really speeds this up for me. (It is also something inspired by Obsidian and other).

I was beyond excited by the Pin to Notebook feature release. A few examples, I have multiple Notebooks per Conference (containing Notes on individual Sessions) and the Pin to Notebook allows me to pin my Agenda note to the top. Another use is I have a Notebook containing individual projects as well as a Note of Tips/Tricks for that type of project and pinned that note.
The configuration ability is beauty of Evernote for sure!

Pinning a note to a notebook is great. I missed it a lot before they brought the feature.

Very helpful tips and tricks, thanks!
I have one pinned note, related to an ongoing project, on my desktop widgets. I also use a filter to bring another much used note to my desktop widgets.
Is it possible to pin more than 1 note to the desktop or use a combination of filters to put different notes on the desktop?

As I understand, Table of Contents uses Link to Headings. Assuming my understanding is correct, that is how I'm using Link to Headings. It's easy to define the headings I want, then use Table of Contents to create links to each of them, all at once.

I guess I didn't phrase it the right way. You are 100% right. That's a Link to Headings. What I was trying to say was doing it manual. Clicking the chain and using it somewhere else, like I did in the video 😉

I am not using either pins or reminders.. All my notebooks are titles with 1 to 9 .. Because I like to see my notes in "chronological order" ... So obviously the note I want pinned will be number 1 . In case I have more than 9 notes I use 2.1 , 2.2 , 2.3 , 2.4 and so on.. Where all the notes starting with 2 is the same topic

Today my Evernote (free) does not let me sync on 2 devices, I am being asked on the second device to disconnect one of them. Has there been a change ? They had reduced in Nov 23 sync to 2 devices. Is it just 1 now ??

I just checked and the website still says 2 devices. I suggest you contact support.

After watching your content and 1 other UA-cam channel I have started using Evernote. It fits my needs but two concerns I have are:
    1. Readwise doesn’t update/sync properly. Im hoping this gets sorted soon.
    2. Security issues, to what extent can EN employees read my notes?

EN staff can read your notes. There is no such thing as Privacy anymore mate.

@@ryanbrownx1exactly, mate. That’s why it’s an issue for me as I mentioned above. I just have to get over it or move to another software.

@kozureokami8374 It's been a long time since I used Readwise for the last time. So, I can't really share my thought on this. But, as a customer, one thing you could do is contact them. Maybe they need to update parts of the code. After all, Evernote has changed a lot since it was acquired by Bending Spoons.
As for encryption, Evernote doesn't have End-to-End Encryption, but it has Encryption At Rest and Encryption In Transit like most of the other players, including Google Drive, One Drive (OneNote), Notion etc. However, it has an in-note End-to-End Encryption feature that, if I'm not mistaken, no one else has. And I just wrote that down as an idea to produce a video explaining how to use it 😉

@@vladcamposthank you for replying to my message.
That would be great. In your video could you explain all the different encryptions and what they mean (end to end etc and what that means for our notes).
I have message Readwise and they said that this error is about 1 or 2 weeks old something has changed in Evernote side . This issue occurred about a year ago and it was fixed. So I assume BS is fixing something and the Readwise side stopped working. I think patient is a virtue in this situation.
