I am a girl and I am 14 years old. I was literally in love with this movie and the other two ones when I was little. I even had a necklace that had a killer whale on it and wore it every single day, I also had a hermonica just like Jesse's that he had in the movie. Still to this day I love this movie and it is still one of my favs! This brought back lots of memories from my childhood, from when I was 2-now! ❤️ 🐋
I was a child and this movie was so magical. I'm building an outdoor theater for my daughter in the yard. When she watches this film with me this summer I'll give her a killer whale necklace. Thanks for the idea.
What was so iconic about the original trailer about this film was the Michael Jackson song. Removing it downplays how critical the song was to promoting a film that was not necessarily interesting on plot alone.
Probably, Warner Bros. had all of the movies from the 90s. - Space Jam(1996)(before the 2021 film) - Rover Dangerfield(1991) - Pokemon: The First Movie(1999; US) - The Iron Giant(1999) - The King & I(1999; Animated) - Quest for Camelot(1998) - Cats Don't Dance(1997) - The Amazing Panda Movie(1995) - Alaska(1996; film) - Don Bluth's Thumbelina(1994) - Don Bluth's A Troll in Central Park(1994) - Batman:Mask of the Phantasm(1993) - Tom & Jerry:The Movie(1993) - And of course, Free Willy 1-3(1993-1997)
I know they did the two sequels to this movie, but I AM very glad that this IS one movie that has been spared the inevitable "remake". I think this film (like many others .i.e. the Disney Renaissance, the Princess Bride, Homeward Bound, Lord of the Rings etc) was magic in a bottle. You can't recapture what those movies had with modern technology. They tried with the Hobbit (which is not technically a remake, even though they CLEARLY wanted it to be) and the Disney remakes and it FAILED (with the exception of 101 Dalmatians, Cruella and Christopher Robin. MAYBE Aladdin).
30 years old! A childhood flick that sticks with me The film had us rethink the way killer whales are bred in captivity even making an awareness campaign to free the titular whale actor himself Love, loss, trust, and forgiveness are important themes here We're used to seeing stories like this before about a small boy and his animal buddy so this doesn't necessarily break new ground The human stuff is serviceable at best Plus some things don't make sense like having the characters not call the police or even animal control for that matter But it's about a budding friendship of two different characters who want to belong again to a family to call their own
There needs to be more movies about killer whales. They should make one that is animal-centric and has story/character elements from *The Lion King* and/or *Brother Bear* that would obviously focus on the killer whale, the Lord of the Oceans blended with some of the West Coast Native American mythologies, including the Haida.
It's been so long since I last saw this movie cry every time at the ending still is my favorite childhood movie I think it was in 2009/10 when I first saw this when it came on Danish TV I also got the DVD set with the 3 original movie for one of my birthday but I got free willy 4 first but I love all of them orca has always been my favorite animal since I was little
@@NikkiBrandt1979 I agree! Luckily I now own it. I ordered it off amazon and it arrived today and we watched it. Knowing the real story of keiko now makes me emotional watching it.

You can hear elements of the melody in the song. take a chill pill, bruh it's not even a real trailer.
@@tylerduggan7776 I don't need a chill pill to comment on something that sucks. Thanks for trolling.
@@jeremywintz2575 Oh Jeremy, it's UA-cam and it's a movie that came out over two decades ago. I think the chill pill is needed.
The film that sparked an entire generation of kids to set one whale free. Still a wonderful movie.
Now we're getting ready to set another whale free from her 50+ years of imprisonment!
Wow I just watched the full movie in a teaser
