This move is great imo. The young core is intact, mitchell fits the timeline being only 25, mitchell is still surrounded by good defenders, and they will be amazing if they can stay together for like 2-3 more years and mitchell will be in his prime.
The Cavs scouting looks on point too, I think they can do something with the 2nds they still have. I still feel like that was really expensive, but you make good points about what this achieves and how much was (or wasn't) sacrificed for it.

They have two major trade pieces in Kevin Love's expiring contract and Leverts expiring contract. Someone is definitely going to want one or both of those
LeVert is gone. Cavs will never do Klove the dirty he will retire a Cav and go into the HOF a Cav. I guess he signs a 7mil to 10mil a year extension for 3 years next year. Levert 18mil will be gone. Cedi and Windler will be gone and Klove will save the team 20 mil a year. Could be in play for 35 to 38mil a year deal with Wiggins
Idk about perfectly, the cavs weren’t really in the market for a small ball dominant guard with minimal defense, especially when they’re looking to develop several young players
I really don't think Spida and Garland are a great fit, tbh. Two short guys who don't play D and who want the ball in their hands. But both are so talented, that they should figure it out.
As a Jazz fan this is a best case scenario type of trade. A really good scoring guard, a young stretch center and a bunch of a picks. Cavs look nice on paper.
this rebuild by the cavs was masterful, their roster is so so well put together, you just need a little more depth and development from young guys and they might be a contender...
Mobley, Garland, Allen, Levert, and D. Mitchell? Can’t wait to see them match up against KAT, D-Lo, Ant, and Rudy. Too early to say since chemistry is a huge part of the game but… can’t argue against the fact that this really looks like the time of super teams.

I’m a Heat fan I wouldn’t be surprised if this team won the east and potentially wins it all not saying it will happen but I wouldn’t be surprised if it did
The 2 6’1 backcourt was my first concern… but I’d imagine with Don and DG now together that is an elite playmaking backcourt. Both could average 8 plus assists per game. Now they’re together? All Cleveland needs now is floor spacers, and big back up guards that can defend. Garland, Mitchell, Levert, Mobley, Allen. Thats an incredible starting 5. Thats a top 6 club come April 2023 unless drastic things happen for them. Play-in is their minimum goal cause this is an all in move cause all these pieces are in or around their prime. DG and Mobley aren’t even close to touching their primes makes this scary.
I love the Cavs team....but I'm not sure I like this trade for them. Sure they have some monsters on defense but historically speaking having 2 undersized guards who aren't good at defense is not a winning strategy.... I'm biased but i like Garland more as a player then Mitchell and am worried this might take away from his development.
Love this trade for the cavs. As a raptors fan I’m gonna really enjoy watching the Cavs this season and I hope this creates some real competitive matchups between Scottie and Mobley and their squads for years to come
Cleveland is built for a year from now maybe two and then they're going to be horrifying unless Evan takes a massive jump this next season I really look forward to what this team is going to do because Jesus Christ this is a perfect rebuild so far.
yes, key is how good Mobley and maybe Okoro get for you. There is a small risk that Mitchell and Garland won't work out since both are ball-dominant and don't have a lot of experience playing off ball. But if those two get it going, youngsters will develop in 1-2 years to make you into a contender.
@@mrvk39 I do think Evan is going to improve a lot but you do have a good point, how do the guards work together? that is another reason why it may be 2 years instead of just a year.
@@lostnemesis So, if its 2 years, it's fine. Everyone is fairly young on your team. Who is the oldest of the core guys? Maybe LeVert and even he is not "really" core. Mitchell, Garland and Mobley are all on the similar arch of development with Mobley developing faster being a big. BUT back to your guards - I feel that its either going to work and will work fast OR it will just never work.
My biggest concern besides their perimeter Defense is that staggering Garland and Mitchell’s minutes doesn’t work until Rubio gets back because Spida has zero facilitating abilities. The worst thing they could on Offense is ask Mitchell to run PG without Rubio and Garland.
As a jazz fan who watched almost every one of Mitchells games in the NBA, i disagree. I actually think Mitchell should be a pg not a sg. He's under sized at the 2, and historically played better than average when filling in for injuries at the 1. His playmaking is under rated and I think the jazz did him a disservice by having him focus on strictly scoring.
Garland-Mitchell is the best Dame-CJ except the Cavs have a great defensive frontcourt of Okoro-Mobley-Allen to cover for the backcourts defensive shortcomings
As a Knicks fan, I say good for you, Cavs. This trade made a lot more sense for you than us. You are already in the playoffs and Mitchell is locked into a long-term contract - great way to add a star to Garland/Mobley combo. You are still a young team and will improve as long as Mobley and others develop. This could be a contender in another year or two if everything jells and players develop.

As a Knicks fan I’m actually so happy we didn’t “win” the d Mitch sweepstakes. Knicks have a great supporting cast but need that 1st options guy. Mitch ain’t that but Utah wanted the same package Brooklyn wanted for kd. Giving up our top 3 of the young core and 5 picks is terrible. Cavs gave up 3 young guys coming off the bench for them and picks but they’ll be around 4-5 seed. Knicks give up rj Toppin and either quick or grimes, the Knicks will be a play in team or 6 seed at best. I’m fine with people saying “common Knicks L” bc if we gave up what Utah wanted from us y’all would still say “common Knicks L” along with “overpaid”. It was a lose/lose for the Knicks and I’d say Leon rose chose the better of the 2 outcomes.
Wolves and Cavs did almost the same trade. Giving up no significant pieces, trading 5 picks, and fixed team’s biggest weakness. Yet the Wolves trade gets hated on but a lot like the Cavs trade. It’s probably because people hate Rudy but it’s just kind of funny to me

As a cavs fan and die hard sexton fan I’m sad but so exited at the same time you can’t ask for a better rebuild then what Cleveland’s done so far and I’m stoked🔥
Sexton about to average 40 ppg in the Jazz tho 😂
W for both sides tbh, the Cavs are now contenders and the jazz can officially start their rebuild, they need Victor
Crazy thing is, Jazz have some really nice pieces!
Vic is a spur
He’s a spur
The Jazz might sneek into the play in
This Cavs team is insane, I'm a lifelong Dubs fan, but I'll tune to every single Cavs game this szn for sure
Cavs vs Warriors Finals! Let's run it back one more time! 🔥🔥
This move is great imo. The young core is intact, mitchell fits the timeline being only 25, mitchell is still surrounded by good defenders, and they will be amazing if they can stay together for like 2-3 more years and mitchell will be in his prime.
Stephen a smith somewhere balling his eyes out rn😭
The Cavs scouting looks on point too, I think they can do something with the 2nds they still have.
I still feel like that was really expensive, but you make good points about what this achieves and how much was (or wasn't) sacrificed for it.
They’re not contenders this season, but they’re close, they’re more like the grizzlies of last season. Great young team that will get checked once they run into an established veteran team. But they’re on their way
The Grizzlies didn't get checked by nobody. They lost to the champs without their best player.
@@beboutbidness9616 Even if they beat the warriors the celtics would check them. It wasn't happening either way
@@beboutbidness9616 Are you saying you think the Grizz beat the Warriors with Ja? Breh, they got checked. And they would have gotten popped by the Celtics had they moved on
Getting a video out about this already is just a goat doing goat thinggs
I’ve always compared Garland and Allen to Conley and Gobert.. I think this will be a perfect fit and dmitch will definitely be able to contribute more defensively.
I’m a huge fan of the cavs and u when I saw u upload I needed to see what u had too say! Love you bruh!
My reaction to this trade was googling the cavs game schedule. I am so excited to watch this team.
this man kenny goes to one wrestling event and starts making a wrestling reference 30 seconds in lmaooo
As a a Finn and a Cavs fan, I feel sad for Lauri leaving, he got constant praise from J.B. and he even flew to Finland to watch the Finnish national teams practice like two weeks ago. Hopefully he gets a chance to shine in Utah and develop as one of the main guys there.
But man am I excited for our team! Young roster, long term contracts, 3 all-stars with a 4th one in the making, Love staying as the vet leader and the 6th man, Rubio coming back at some point, so many things to be excited about. Can’t wait to see the team in action!
Also a Cavs fan and Lauri was very underrated last season. He would be a perfect fit off the bench with this current roster with Mitchell. So (delusionally) I'm still holding out hope we can get him back like we did with Rubio 😅
I'm also a Finn and whilst I saw this trade coming I didn't see him included
As a Cavs fan I'm gonna miss Sexton and we dont know if we're gonna get pre-injury sexton but getting D Mitch is takes us to a whole new level. Takes scoring pressure of DG too. LFG
I've NEVER seen my Twitter timeline react like this. Knicks fans looked like they'd been shot
not really. Most comments were happy that we didn't give up everything to get Mitchell. You guys got lucky that Knicks told Danny to take a hike and then he got stuck with no deal except for Cavs.
The NY Knicks got Brunson who just cooked DM in the playoffs.
They don't really need another undersized guard like Mitchell.
@@davejeffar6271 exactly! A bad fit AND one which would've cost us RJ, another young player and 4 first round picks. I rather keep those assets for a real superstar if he wants out, OR, we can use those picks to move up in the 2023 draft, which is super-deep. We have flexibility and a future.
Spida fits perfectly with this roster ! In a couple of years they will definitely be one of the top contenders.
Perfect fit , especially with Garland playmaking ability!
@@niquawalker3396 not at all perfect
@@andymaritanu7420 Get out the comments hating 😂
POV you been waiting on Kenny to make a video since the news broke
As a Jazz fan this is a best case scenario type of trade. A really good scoring guard, a young stretch center and a bunch of a picks. Cavs look nice on paper.
this rebuild by the cavs was masterful, their roster is so so well put together, you just need a little more depth and development from young guys and they might be a contender...
Massive W for Cavs
Dub both sides
This year playoff. Next year contenders
I knew a team that no one was expecting would trade for Mitchell similar to what happened when PG was traded to OKC and Kawhi to Toronto.
Been waiting for your take on this💯
Mobley, Garland, Allen, Levert, and D. Mitchell? Can’t wait to see them match up against KAT, D-Lo, Ant, and Rudy. Too early to say since chemistry is a huge part of the game but… can’t argue against the fact that this really looks like the time of super teams.
would be a storybook finals
All of that just to lose to the warriors. The era of superteams is defined by the warriors and their HOF roster
@@spark6306 The Warriors barely squeezed by Luka and the Grizzlies were on route to winning the series until GP2 injured him on purpose. Just because they have two hall of famers in Steph and Klay doesn’t mean their unbeatable.
@@YoppieBeyond I think so too. There’s a ton going on there, just hope we get to see a series between em in next years playoffs at the very least.
@@vise_atoxity8083 did you just say 2? Does draymond not exist? This take alone makes you look like you barely know anything. Also didn’t realize 4-1 is barely squeezing by Luka lmao. Also Grizzlies played better without Ja lmao. Also saying GP2 injured hun on purpose is absolutely absurd. Please develop a brain before you act like the team who just won the finals losing only 6 games
I was on the toilet when I got the news and screamed. My wife in the next room working thought I fell. 😅
I see them running an 8 man line-up with Okoro starting and Levert as the 6 man with Rubio and Love eating up the rest of the minutes
Nah start Levert over Okoro
@@dawg6257 lmfao
One of Stevens/Wade/Cedi will get minutes in some way or another.
@@dawg6257 levart is best suited as a 6 man ballhandling bucket getter, why play him w don and DG when they all need the ball. okoros defense and off ball cutting movment alone is reason enough to start him but hopefully his 3 starts falling bc they could use the spacing
@@kam_12_ yeah sure I guess your right
Literally was waiting for this Kenny W
I’m a Heat fan I wouldn’t be surprised if this team won the east and potentially wins it all not saying it will happen but I wouldn’t be surprised if it did
Definitely NOT going to win the east. Peak 5th seed lol
I would be very surprised
if LeBron didn’t sign with an extension Lakers I can potentially see them competing for a title next year if he ever joined the Cavs
As a cavs fan, THAT'S SOMETHING ELSE
Don plays a lot bigger than he is
@@Superbad22 it don’t matter if does he still won’t be able to defend big guards
@@Superbad22 still is ass on defense
Okoro, Stevens, Wade & Cedi would all start over Levert.
This is exactly why I didn't want Mitchell on my Knicks. Jalen Brunson and Spida is too small as a Backcourt
As a Knicks fan, this is a good thing. A team in Clevelands position does this trade, not where we are.
I think the cavs defense is good enough to balance out having two small guards especially with okoro playing
I feel that for sure
🧢
LETS GO CLEVELAND WE IN THIS AAAAAA 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Kenny on trending 👀
Garland-Mitchell is the best Dame-CJ except the Cavs have a great defensive frontcourt of Okoro-Mobley-Allen to cover for the backcourts defensive shortcomings
Correct! Which is why it works!
Not to mention, Cavs got a good bench. Portland always had a shitty ass bench unit
@@eczotiic8026 Portland??

As a Knicks fan, I say good for you, Cavs. This trade made a lot more sense for you than us. You are already in the playoffs and Mitchell is locked into a long-term contract - great way to add a star to Garland/Mobley combo. You are still a young team and will improve as long as Mobley and others develop. This could be a contender in another year or two if everything jells and players develop.
I think the Jazz finessed the Cavs, but it’s a good trade both sides

Cavs kept their young core and added Donavon Mitchell on top of that Huge W
Kenny you gotta do a rebuild with Utah and the GAYSEX😤 duo
This is one of those trades that makes you, as a basketball fan, EXCITED AF
As a former jazz fan I am now a cavs fan 😅
As a blazers fan I’d do the same if dame left

Toronto, Cleveland, and Hotlanta Kenny ! For Real !
Kenny getting strong 💪🏾 I peep the gains 👀
Wolves and Cavs did almost the same trade. Giving up no significant pieces, trading 5 picks, and fixed team’s biggest weakness. Yet the Wolves trade gets hated on but a lot like the Cavs trade. It’s probably because people hate Rudy but it’s just kind of funny to me
To clarify I’m not talking about Kenny specifically but the public perception overall
As one of the three jazz fans we better get Victor Webenwamya next year ☠️

Kenny, as a die hard cavs fan. There's a reason why we didn't trade okoro in this deal. He is an all-star in the making.... Okoro is gonna be our starting 3 to help defensively. I'm so excited!!!!! Love the vids
What all-star? A mickey mouse all-star?
Stop it, lol. He’s a solid defender & a below average shooter who can’t create with or without the ball. Worst player in the starting lineup is his absolute peak.
@@dariusgoatland10 since arriving in the league his 3pt shooting percentage has steadily increased(which is what u gotta look for when u talk about potential).
