I have learned that for me, there is no such thing as a forever bag. As much as I frequently say this is my forever bag, I eventually get tired of them. Such is the natural flow of life. The excitement of newness eventually fades because we change.
I've had to learn the hard way for everything (not just a bag) that any time I'm impatient and purchase something in place of what I actually want I end up regretting it 95% of the time and find myself still wanting what the original item. Then I wasted money and have to deal with the clutter of stuff I didn't really like that much instead of just waiting for what I really had my heart set on.
I have learned that I don't like heavy bags, top handle-only bags and fussy to open or close bags. I have cut out rigid dividers at least 3 times after realising they prevent me from using the bags. I also hate straps or chains that are too short to wear crossbody with my preferred length (which is low) or totes with short straps so the bag is tucked right under my armpit. I want my hands and armpits to be free. Last, while I love the look of a structured bag, it doesn't work in crossbody's for me. Too rigid. It's like me and my floating bag poking out and bumping into stuff. I want a soft bag to mould around my body even though they always look a bit too boho for my taste. Basically what I love to see and what I love to wear are 2 different things, haha!
I love luxury shoes and bags but lately I find myself wanting to wear them a little less in exchange for my mid-level options because I find them a little more carefree and better for the seemingly never-ending rain where I live. Within the last 19 days, It's been clear for 3 of them.
when I first started buying luxury handbags I watched some of your lessons videos and all these points still ring true. I always go to the preloved market to see how the corners hold up, if it collapses or shows wear easily. I find that if a bag feels annoying to use, it remains an annoying and I won't use it. I need a top handle most of the time bc my lifestyle involves getting n and out of the car a lot and I use the top handle to get the purse from the passenger seat. Also I don't generally like bags that have fixed straps, I need the swivel action /clasp where the strap attaches to the bag. Learning what works for you and abiding by it will save money and heartbreak!
I totally agree Amie,I'm fully into preloved and watching UA-cam reviews of bags that I'm interested in buying. Im also more aware of what I like and don't like.
I totally agree with you about interior organization. I do not like bags with three compartments. I only have one I like that is a structured evening bag, because it helps keep the shape. Otherwise I find one compartment is easier to use.
For me I struggle with one compartment, it becomes a black hole. However I have a smaller bag RN and it really doesn't fit much so that's annoying too 😅
I had a cotton tote bag that I had wore since 2011 to 2020. And finally threw it away as it got mouldy with some holes. The bag had been with me since uni to my part time jobs. Those days when I was so broke🥲 ( still broke now)
Hi Amie! I returned the Felicie due to defects, but I dislike when people say wocs fit plenty. They have a purpose, idk why people make it more than what it is. 🙈💕
Don’t impulse buy just because it is available, like Hermes or Chanel. If a bag is presented by the SA or online and it wasn’t on your radar , then give in for fear of missing out. Most of the time I regret it. However buying Hermes online is great because I get to return the impulse buying error
I agree with you on all your points. For me I now will only buy a bag that fits all the items I carry in a bag. I have made the mistake of buying bags that don’t quite fit my phone and therefore make the bags impossible to close. So how often do I use those bags? Never. So now function is the most important thing for me.
Such great tips! I so agree that if it’s not functional, easy to access and use, it’s a no go. I also totally agree about not buying a filler instead of what you really want- I also will still want the original love and now I’ve wasted $ and have more stuff. Better to just get what I really want if I keep thinking about it. Thanks for the vid!
So useful to hear your lessons and tips Amie 😍 you are and always have been my fav luxury UA-camr as you come across the most grounded ☺️ keep it up! Xx
Yay!-a Chase Amie video! You make some wonderful points! I find that quick and easy accessibility, (getting in and out at the cash register), is probably my #1! I get SO flustered! I’m loving your pretty top on you, hon! Enjoy your week, Lovely! ❤👜❤🇨🇦
Your last point is so true! When I was younger, instead of saving up to get what I really wanted, I tend to go for the cheaper alternatives. Always ended up still wanting (and getting) the real deal in the end. Lessons learned, don't settle :)
Completely agree about middle dividers, Especially zipped ones ! use up space and are Useless !! Adore your top, colour, fit and style, you look gorgeous 💗
Bags that are small with dividers. I wanted a Bvlgari serpenti sholder bag, but ordered the same style in a crossbody style. It's small so now i only use it for date nights or evenings vs the sholder bag that could have been worn during the day. I bought a Bvlgari cabochon bag that is small but fits SO much more due to it being one open pocket.
Wonderful and well thought out video, Amie. As beautiful as flap bags are, they don’t work well for me. I like easy and quick access. I’ve said this before but your camellia flap card holder is my absolute favorite to see in your collection 💖😂
Costume jewelry!!!! It is so easy to fall in love with the brands that avertise on Instagram and through influencers but it never looks quite right on me and I'm always disappointed... Instead of spending 150-300 dollars on six valueless pieces that never look right ... Tuck the money away, go into a store and buy a fine piece that you can try on and is timeless

I have been thinking about a Birkin but I liked #4 because as much as I would love the Birkin I think I would be so scared of it getting stole, any accident, & etc.
Very thoughtful list! One big issue for me is bags with snaps to adjust the length of the strap. My hair gets caught and is ripped out by them. It’s terrible! I had a Fendi by the way that was the worst and a Marni trunk that did it somewhat, too. Got rid of both of them just because of that issue unfortunately.
Oh wow I didn't even realise that's a thing! I'm trying to think why that's never happened to me now?! I can imagine that would be so annoying though (not to mention painful!)
I love bags. But i only wear backpacks. Huge backpacks. I can't be bothered to be taking care of the bag. The bag serves me. It will get used, scratched, dirty. Life is short . I'll admire bags in videos or stores.
You hit it on the nail with the weather changes and the bags to carry.. took my Hermes bags on vacation and spend most of my time worried about damaging them..🤦🏽♀️.. not sure am ever taking them on vacation
Children does change the way you dress and bag design, before I had kids I was pretty much a mini/small bag type of girl. Now I prefer bags that are more functional and on the small/medium size as oppose to mini/small.

You are absolutely right. If you are afraid to damage it, then it’s not a bag for you. If you already have it, just use it and don’t fret. An expensive bag is like a luxury car. It has only one function: to be used everyday!. So, if you cannot enjoy it then ask yourself, what you like about it and find something similar in a price tag that you are comfortable with. Don’t buy it because everyone has it. Once it is on trend, it’ll go off trend and you are left with a bag tat everyone has and no one wants. So buy what you love and enjoy it to the fullest.

So, yay, money saved.
Hi Amie, I'm trying to check out on 24S and having issues. I've tried it on my computer and the app and still running into the same issues. Any suggestions? Thanks
I've had the same issue but with a few websites! I've solved it by switching my internet router on and off and then clearing cache. I have no idea if this is specific to our house though!
