  • 🎶 Visiting "The Dark Island" on the Bagpipes 🎶
Hey there, fellow piping enthusiasts! Today, I'm tackling "The Dark Island" on the bagpipes.
This tune has been a real joy to learn, but let's just say my doublings have a mind of their own. I'm working hard to make sure they're not early and that they're as clean as possible, but sometimes it feels a bit like trying to thread a needle with boxing gloves on.
So, brace yourselves for the Piping Hot Mess rendition of "The Dark Island." Expect a mix of melodious moments and the occasional bagpipe blooper. If you enjoy watching someone struggle valiantly in the name of music, hit that like button and subscribe to my channel for more piping escapades. Your support keeps me motivated and laughing through the squeaks and squawks. 🎵🏴😊

Good for you. I'm only 9 months in and struggling with keeping the pipes going, let alone trying to play a tune! So I salute you for going online!
How often do you practice and for how long?

Welcome to a fantastic hobby. It’s not the easiest of instruments to learn for sure but it’s very rewarding. I generally aim for at least 30 minutes on the practice chanter and at least 30 minutes on the pipes each day. Often it’s more like an hour on the PC. Saturdays / Sundays are generally a write off.
