Great conversation. I think the practice of treating women differently feels belittling and "less than" simply because I am not the same gender. I will say, I too have been told "we need to meet in public because I want to honor my wife" all though I think those men did not mean to offend, it did. Part of me wants to say "don't flatter yourself". It's a tough spot especially for a woman in business.
