I talk about how UA-cam has really helped me in this transition of becoming empty nesters, as well as some of the challenges I’ve had since starting. What is your biggest challenge since starting UA-cam?
Thanks for the video! I'm just starting out on UA-cam. I'm single over 50 no kids so I'm used to an empty nest :) I do see my brother's and their wives going through the empty nest syndrome as their kids have flown the nest. I'm enjoying the UA-cam process too. The biggest challenge is getting some confidence and starting to feel comfortable on camera.
These have been some great videos, my wife and I are going to be empty nesters soon but it’s still tough trying to get videos out in a timely manner. Keep up the great work!
It was a great video. Thanks for sharing. I started a channel in my mid-40s mainly to document our family life, but it definitely has been a slow grow. Looks like you’re growing relatively quickly. So awesome. I just subscribed. I love the UA-cam community and love how we can support one another. Hope we can connect here. Looking forward to watching more of your content to learn more!
Nice video. I am part of the small channel creator community and I like how you are supporting other small channel creators. This has been a steep learning curve for me and my videos can take many hours to efit. Im still having fun and i love to learn. I want to get better at thumbnails and im trying out different titles and categories to see what the algorithm likes.❤
Thank you for the encouragement. My wife and I just stated a channel and are learning! We have no background in video editing and are just like you, jumping in feet first: the doggy paddle analogy was spot on! I enjoyed the content, we learned a lot and it held our attention the entire time.
Keep going! Great to have a hobby, but a bit isolating with only UA-cam (I am discovering). One comment: a lot of people are doing what you are doing - channel about having a channel. I think that has limited "legs". It might be good to develop a direction/niche in some way. Monetization is harder than it seems: that "4000 watch hours" is a very steep hill to climb. The only way I got over it was a simple stroke of luck when one video went viral.

God is good! Although I’m not naturally inclined to put myself out there, the Lord placed it on my heart to start a UA-cam channel. Originally, my goal was to create a space where my family-especially my sister who does not yet believe- friends and coworkers could watch a short, daily scripture message.
