    This Nole for life has nothing but the utmost respect for the HBC. I totally agree with him here. I think Clemson and FSU are no brainers. And stop the madness please...in the decades of football that all teams have played, FSU and Clemson have just as respectable of a winning percentage as Bama, AU, UF, UGA, LSU, OU, Texas, and Tennessee. Oh...finally, the pie will not be divided...ESPN will bake TWO fresh pies!! • @alexortiz1971
      @alexortiz1971 Місяць тому +1

      🤣🤣🤣 FSU is little brother, that'll never change. If you're gonna compare football Conference championships, of course yall have more because you KNEW going into the ACC you would dominate it as it was weaker, Bobby Bowden admitted to that. All-time win series, Florida is ahead...Total National Championships in football, tied (which is actually embarrassing for FSU considering they went to weaker conference to get to the Natty game easier and they STILL only have the same number of football nattties as Florida 🤡). National Championships across all sports Florida 48 vs FSU 20. Olympic athletes that have won medals, Florida too many to count, FSU too minimal. Florida has triple crown status (Football, Baseball, Basketball natties), FSU only football natties. Florida is an AAU school and flagship, FSU is neither. Florida's endowment is almost as much as FSU's entire budget. All in all, FSU little brother. It's also funny that you're trying to flip the narrative about joining "little brother's conference" when Florida is a charter member of the SEC and FSU just wants to bandwagon for the money. The easy route to the Natty was great until the money stopped being as good, you reap what you sow and FSU is getting what it deserves. Can't have your cake and eat it too. Yall turned away the SEC invite back in the 90s, so enjoy the smaller paycheck.

It wouldn't a be a rivalry if Florida won every time. Doesn't change the fact yall are still little brother when it comes to overall athletics, facts are facts. And even with yall winning the last 2 years, guess what...Florida still holds the lead for the All-time series. Sit down little brother.

    Great job with the interview. Big shout out to the Ole Ball Coach. Gator Nation does - and always will - love you man! Unfortunately, in this game of realignment I believe competition and fan perspectives take a back seat to market share and contract enhancement. I totally agree as far as the product on the field - FSU and Clemson produce quality teams. SEC matchups that included them would be competitive and fun to watch. If the SEC decided to expand, it's pretty clear both UNC and VA bring more to the table with respect to market share (all sports being considered). Both bring new, attractive markets to the table where SEC currently lacks (and desires) footprint. I think the only way the SEC adds FSU and Clemson is in a situation where they want to prevent them from going to the ACC. Clearly the SEC is in a "wait and see" mode, and likely will not make any moves until the fate of the entire ACC is determined. Likely the same for the BIG10.

    • @jamesb0255
      @jamesb0255 Місяць тому

      I don't know what kind of financial research you have done to back up this statement but FSU as of Spring 2023 would have been the 6th largest revenue producer in the B1G and 7th in the SEC, just below UF by a piddly 6 mil....that's value far and above 1/2 of each conference. This being with the shit contract we have with the ACC that was completely misrepresented by John Swofford and continued by Jim Phillips. FSU and Clemson have for decades been the largest revenue producers in the ACC and had to share with basketball schools like Duke, Syracuse, and UNC along with far inferior football programs like Ga Tech, NC State, and BC....what a joke.
      So sir I suggest you do a little research in the future before opening your swamp hole.

They had high flying offenses thru out the 90's except when they played peer and near peer competition. It was usually Nole's Defense that got them thr vs equal talent lvl Teams...And there was generally only about 10 teams per year during the 90's that could legit play with the Noles or beat them. @@r.guardia9107 hmm well I know the clown college enjoyed only having 2 games to play each season during that time span ( canes and gators ) as the weak little acc was the choice to play in. The great Bobby b ( god rest his soul , such a good man) was quoted saying the acc was much easier for us to win than joining the sec. I will take that 38 -27 all time series advantage Florida has over clown u , so you enjoy that 8-5-1 stretch .

    FSU has always belonged in the SEC. I mean why would UF really care one way or the other? They are still going to play FSU annually anyway either as an OOC game or a conference game. Seems to me making it a conference game would take the rivalry to the next level of hate and that's great for college football.

  • @jamesb0255
    @jamesb0255 Місяць тому +1

    FSU has ALWAYS belonged in the SEC! Yes, Bobby was talked into joining the ACC by Goins and Sliger. He rationalized that it would be an easier path to the National Championship in the ACC. Which was absolutely the truth considering FSU played for 5 National Championships in 10 years after joining.
    What most SEC fans of today, younger then 40 anyway, do not understand that this love/hate affair between the SEC and FSU in nothing new. It has been going on since the 50's. In fact at one point UF even supported and lobbied the SEC to add FSU. Georgia did the same.
    The notion that the SEC does not want to add more teams is nothing new as well. That has always been said by someone in the SEC right before they expand. 😂I offer this as an example, "1966 and 1967, no motion was even made. Florida Head Coach Ray Graves reversed his position on sponsoring Florida State, citing that even though FSU would be a good fit, the current allotment of 10 teams (with Tulane having departed) was perfect, and just what all current SEC teams really need" Gee, does that sound familiar? They have expanded 3 times since then and twice in the last 12 years.
    I could continue to wax poetic on this subject but i will give y'all a chance to educate yourself. A good start would be the following article I read in 2010 which explains quite a bit. I thought it was originally published in the Tampa Trib but found it on Bleacher Report.

    As an FSU fan I never trust Spurrier to comment even remotely positively towards FSU,so if he gets a lot of ribbing about this interview from his fellows,he'll probably walk it back or say something negative in a follow up...that being said,if he spoke truly and stands by it,that is nice to hear regardless of what happens. Also,he is UFs best coach of all time, not Meyer. Meyer had the stars align for him at UF,everything went right for him and the warts were hidden until he was gone. Spurrier had to go through the 90s FSU teams+ SEC,and he humiliated Peyton Manning teams.

    Well, you have to admit that SEC-type television money would help FSU do better in recruiting, not to mention that Mike Norvell is clearly one of the top 10 coaches in the game. That said, I'd prefer that the ACC stay afloat in CFB, but that would require that the conference somehow bring in a LOT more television money. That's only going to happen if you happen to believe in miracles. I really do not like the idea of two super-conferences and three or four also-rans, but that seems to be where this thing is headed. Ugh.

    FSU had their chance back in 1992 and blew it because Bowden wanted the easy path to compete for National Championships. It seems that is the only thing they value down there. They got a little taste of what the SEC is like in the Orange Bowl last year. You have to show up for all your games even when you are disappointed, like Georgia did.

    If you look at TV ratings, then you’d know that FSU would be a top 4 team in TV ratings. That’s excellent ratings while playing in the so called weaker conference. The reality is that Vandy, Kentucky, Miss State, Mizzou, and Auburn will never be able to contribute to the SEC at the same level as FSU. Even on the lowest point of their program’s modern history they net better ratings and are broadcasted in more desirable markets.

    • @alexortiz1971
      @alexortiz1971 Місяць тому

      @michaelcarroll8570 you're right on FSU having higher TV ratings than those schools but Vandy, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Auburn are all charter members of the SEC. College football and conferences are definitely trying to get more money where they can BUT tradition and pageantry are just as high in the pecking order for College athletics. And kicking out charter members is next to impossible unless those members themselves request to leave which they won't.
