The witness protection voice asking the question was a nice touch

Thanks Dr. Fryette for alleviating the damn headache I've had for the past month recording silently through my PS2 (speakers unplugged)....and trying to find out witch newly changed tubes of my Sig X head might have turned microphonic while they'd actually worked just fine.

No way am I accepting this science. I can only attain haunting mids from my phantom power sounds emitting from from my ghostly amp. It’s magic I tells ya! Great video again Joe and Steve

I've often wondered if potting the big transformers to shut them up would have a difference of reliability, like the mechanical vibrations could lead to a short circuit in the windings. Seems like they are only burning up when something stupid happens like a shorted speaker lead, but... 🤔

Transformers are “potted”, actually sealed, with varnish to effectively glue the windings in place to prevent that very occurrence. There‘s a limit to its effectiveness though due to the high intensity of electro-mechanical activity generated when an amp is cranked.

Or when a manufacturer doesn't put proper load connections in their manuals ? Cause shorted speaker leads are the only cause right? Never could it be confusing and hooked up wrong because of that.

On the PS-2, concerning the presence and depth controls, is the flat setting fully counterclockwise or 12 o'clock? :)

I have had my amp/power station sound come out of my Studio Monitors…..and the monitors were powered off…it was at really low volume with no cab connected to my amp…

So the Power Station was also a Radio?
... Does the FCC know of this? ; )

Guitar pedals can pick up radio signals, too. The clue is in the FCC compliance.

I have a ps-2a. I use a super reverb. However when I crank the SR past 5 but keep the volume on the ps-2a at 11 o’clock or lower I get a harsh distorted low end. Like a bad distorted sound. Does this seem right? I see so may vids where the amps are cranked and the low end still seems tight and musical at low volume. When I bypass the ps2 I don’t have the issue though.

You’re simply hearing what the amp is doing when your ears aren’t being pummeled😄

Not good enough Mr Fryette your amps all seem to have little gremlins and problems straight out of the box. Where's the QC on your amps mate ?
You don't have these problems with Marshall or others yet your amps have problems new from the shop ????
Overrated product and Overpriced not impressed at all, since buying a NEW 2/90/2 nothing but problems. My old Marshall mono block is still kicking arse after 25yrs.
